This is almost like burning down your house, because they only send bad programs on television.
Let's wait to see what the CCP has to say on Monday, there is no need to fire up more on this now, we all know they have understood there are many disgruntled captains out there.
I have not unsubbed my three accounts because I do not think this is good enough reason to panic ..... Yes I know, it's the future of Eve, but I want to see it before I go.
Really hope those who say they are leaving, coming back, it's all of you, with the angry attitude, that makes this game fun.

I am not cancelling subscription yet, I like EVE, the way it is. However, if eve turns into some inter-galactic fleamarket for ccp to pawn virtual items off on me to support the development of other ****ty games I dont care about then yeah I will be cancelling. |

What could they ever reply to us?
The truth? Then they are done. Ofc they planned to increase revenue with offering their own RMT via the NeX market.
Lies? It will backfire on them once they offer non vanity items and this won¦t be in the too far future.
It is not Zulus fault. Not as if this dude would have ever spent $1000 for pants.
Obviously the plan was to start NeX with vanity items and silently embedd non vanity items some time later when ppl got used to NeX.
What concerns me most is that CCP obviously never had a exit strategy and obviously are dependant on microtransition. It seems to be an essential part of their businessplan otherwise they could have dismissed selling non vanity items right away to control the damage the leaked documents have caused.
The only logical reason why they did not control the damage is, that they depend on this revenue and this is really scary because recently they did nothing else then annoying ppl with nerfs they never wanted and "content" that is nothing but sims and far away from real new content.
The logical result is:
They got not enough revenue and they got no idea how to implement real content that brings back fun for their playerbase. If all these assumptions are right, then the end of EvE is near. We all seen that with other MMROG¦s before.
Rest in peace EvE.

it kind of IS important, becase they MUST understand the need to address the question which they either deliberately or amazingly blindingly ignored/dodged in the devblog. and then perhaps also address larger pressing issues but.... baby steps..

I think that it's already been pointed out over a gazillion times in this thread, no-one cares too much about the price of AUR.
We care about your internal mail, your intent to introduce non-vanity items for purchase via MT. That is what we are asking. No more trying to brush this under the rug. Not good enough CCP. Not good enough...

less than 120 posts to go till this thread is over the 10k threshold. That would be 9980 queries for information from the player base 20 fob offs from CCP and 0 adequate responses.
Pann's daughter is in hospital, don't hang the messenger, she's not guilty for the management's ******ed views on the game community and their general idea.
then the management should step up and make a statement...

dunno if you been checking other theads but, Pann had a real family emergency, our prayers are with her andher family but looks to be she wont be continuing this thread, and it will stay as a repository for rage till next attempt at dodging the non vanity MT question, when we open the subsequent threadnaught for that.
With all the given respect to personal fate of the community leader: This is CCPs problem and not the players. In other words, if Pann cant answer, someone else has to. Still smell like cheap excuse.

It is obvious, that CCP actually intends to offer non-vanity Aurum-gimmicks earlier or later, otherwise they would have ended this threadnought simply by stating that this will not happen anytime in future long ago. The question is, can the player base revert this decision? The answer of this question is equally easy: No. They won't change this policy, because in the long run it will make CCP more money. They might loose 10% of their accounts during the next few weeks, but will catch up by the end of the year and from the next will gain profits like they never had before. Churn is a well known and analysed figure in subscription based businesses, and CCP does know what they are doing. They are not stupid but in fact became greedy, what in today's business world is a virtue rather than a curse.
I have prepaid my last remaining account till the end of the year. Enough time to look for other places. After nearly 7 years of Ultima Online and by the end of this year another 6 1/2 years of EVE, it will most likely be something new for me next year. CCP won't register that, because by then they will have at least 10 percent more paid accounts then today.

It's more like moving to another house because the view out the window consists of a brothel and a homeless guy trying to do a Sinatra impersonation.

I'm somewhat curious to see how CCP responds to all this come Monday. I bet it won't be in a way that brings us any satisfaction... I just wonder if it will be anything that re-lights the rage fires. I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I know this will get me killed, but i actually rather like the new changes, as long as it sticks to being novelty items that are for sale. If it starts being ships/sp/standings, then it will quickly spiral out of control, as people feel that they cannot be a part of the game without these items.

I too have questions...
- What % of the people who are still playing the game have already disabled CQ because it is utterly boring, poorly implemented and a menace to your hardware if you run multiple clients?
- When will CCP realize and/or care that not having anyone who can provide legitimate answers without being a condescending **** during the weekends which happen to be the peak times for concurrent users online almost always ends badly?
- Has it been 18 months yet so we can get back to internet spaceships?
- Could you please double-reinforce the Jita node so the protesters can continue on without lagging the rest of us?

You don't kill the cow for milk!
If they are in economical trouble and have over extended themselves trying to make Dust and WoD at the same time then they should talk to their in house economist about "sunk cost" and how having put several million into a project does not justify that you keep putting money into it when it looks like it will cost too much and hurt your companies long term viability.
Sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it.

A Parting word before sleep, with no particular point, sure to be lost in the ever growing thread; lethargic if nothing else.
We're all aware that CCP so far refuses to answer The Big Yellow Question, and we've our fears about that. It seems as though CCP wants to make this all about the prices in the store, as if that is our concern. If we look at most of the gaming press at that time, it was to laugh at CCP's silly prices. CCP is not answering us, they are answering the press.
But the press is slowly pulling the story to the 'pay to win' issues despite CCP's best efforts to the contrary. Other MMO communities are starting to talk about what we the Eve community are doing and why as well.
We are CCP's past revenue stream. It seems as though CCP feels they can ride it out, make up new subs with 'good press' of 'awesome' and some cheap tacky space pants. That is, or was until now, their new revenue.
We have taken it beyond CCP's calculations. CCP used to always be proud that the community grew Eve to be greater than the sum of its parts. I think CCP is beginning to learn that the community does not belong to them, it belongs to us, it always has. Most of the time we're blowing each other up so we didn't recognize it quite so tangibly. That veil has fallen.
CCP can not ignore the gaming press, they depend on it. They must have it, they can not launch their new products or attract new loyal customers to a company with bad press. So far they have completely screwed them selves.
My faith in CCP will return SoonÖ |
