by the way, any Apple user cant actually play EVE, as the whole right click menu system is not working. So its impossible even to switch ships, as, hangar was removed so its impossible to do it in the old fashion (drag the ship from window to hangar screen). YOu may switch ships now only via right mouse menu, and as it no works, no switch... go figure

To take that example further: You can not start and buy a titan-fleet-army with chars, ships and everything set for Plex. You might find one or two chars to buy in the market, but they have been leveled for the time needed to get the titan skills. The titans were build, and as we know you cant just start a buildob on them, you need 0.0 and material, BPO and - most important - time. If you would start buying every titan char, titan etc. as soon as they pop on the market, prices would rise drastically (offer and demand).

Given the scenario that the people protest against, you could buy all this directly from CCP. So, basically botters and rich parents kids could start buying a titanfleet and take over all 0.0. Without MT, you would have no chance to compete. Also, the market would be broken since you would not need it anymore to get your desired items.

Exaggerated? Perhaps. But i think it show the concerns. Also, its not that far out once the 'non vanity' train is rolling.
