can you make it so the "dark songs that play in systems that have a lot of kills in the last 24 hours" also happens in lowsec?
Come on. We want to hear them in lowsec too. |

Absolutely wonderful, looking very much forward to hearing the new turrets!
Especially hybrid sound update has been long overdue.
Overall I love the sounds of EVE, wormhole space wouldn't be the same without the fantastic soundscape. Sounds are actually a vital part of wormhole existence.

As a veteran who played with sound, it saddens me a bit to hear the music will go to the cloud. "...But Still We Go On" is the first thing I always heard when I log into eve. That welcoming music was part of the routine that kept me grounded. I understand the reasoning, and Eve is all about reasoning and cold numbers. As I listen to the music now though (on sound cloud), I am reminded that all things change, and Eve should be no exception.
My sincere hope is that the music team can come up with tracks of the quality that these old legacy tracks had. Bash the old music all you want. It has been there for a long time, and I've always loved listening to it. I'm glad that the option to listen to it in the cloud is there just in case the music team cocks it up. Actually, I think it would be great if we could hear more samples as they are developed from the music team. You could put those on sound cloud too. |

This all sounds great, except for... planets making sounds? I'd expect your ship to make a sound even when stationary - it's still a machine with life support systems and all that running even when not moving. But planets just don't make sounds, that's silly.
When astronauts today go into orbit, one of the things they remark on is how peaceful and quiet Earth seems from all the way up there. Planets in EVE shouldn't make any sound.
Having said all of that, there is no sound in space at all, so true realism dictates the sounds be removed altogether! |

Improving sound is always a good thing.
But one quote from the Dev Blog made me giggle: This is probably the most contreversial thing we are planning for this release. As part of building a cohesive experience, marrying graphics, design and sound, we want the music to play in context of where you are and what you are doing.
Erh, EF-2000 did that in 1995 ...
You could hear by the change in the soundtrack that something just changed in your environment.
But again, good job and keep it up. CCP Eterne: Silly player, ALL devs are evil.

I don't think the Capacitor warning should come as early as 30%. I'm sure a lot of players rely on peak recharge, which AFAIK happens at around 35% cap.
So, seriously... Consider moving the threshold to 20%. Or make it customizable, like the warnings for Shield HP, Armour HP and Hull HP.

Sounds good, no pun intended.
The only thing which comes to mind is for ships which are on the very edge of cap stability, potentially ticking back and forth over that 30% every time the shield booster fires. That could get a mite annoying. |

On some missions, I like how once I activate the first Acceleration Gate, the music changes to a more dynamic and exciting soundtrack, relative to the quiet, peaceful, almost meditative music that usually plays in EVE.
Please consider implementing something like that, for combat missions.
