anyone in the US got their issue yet?

From the US here and I don't plan on getting my copy until this Saturday or upcoming Monday. I sure hope it's before Monday because I have school until 6pm that day. I think I'm going to make a promise to myself to read the mag only while on the toilet since I don't want to cover the whole experience in a span of one day since it won't be another 3 months until I have my hands on the second issue. Part of me is really down on the fact that I spent 17.95 (for those of us in the states) on a magazine! Then again, I am also happy to support the game of Eve financially to make sure it stays here ever so bit longer.
What I would recommend is making the magazine come out once every 2 months instead. I unstand how the magazine is suppose to prep us for the next expansion in some sense, but I think most of those who have subsribed wouldn't mind paying 9.95 for a magazine that shows up 6 times a year. There is more than enough content available.

We should be able to pay like 5-10 bucks and be able to download a PDF version of it...Dosen't cost CCP anything to distribute an electronic copy of it, and people like me who want it but just dont have the money for the hard copy would be willing to hand over a few bucks for it.

Well, seeing as I am in the arse end of the world :P I am still waiting on the mag to arrive, and it's the 6th Oct today.... Us poor Aussies are so far from it all it hurts.. Might have to start chasing the mailman demanding he get a move on and track it down for me, as I know I wont be moving once I have it and would be nice for it to arrive today seeing as it's extended downtime. ----------

Awwww, man, I just found my first speling eror in EON! Gahhh, I hate those!
pg 11, One's Real, The Other (Sort Of) Isn't
"Since half the in-game population is disproportionately female in comparisron to their..."
Aaaarrrggghhh!
It's irrational I know, and I'm equally bad, but magazines should be using a speling cheker, really.

Let me work this out! If E-ON shipped from Europe on 4 October '05, now let's see ... divide by 5, carry the one, make allowance for tides, wind speed and kangaroo plagues ... yes, we should be receiving it here in Oz around 1 April '06! Such a shame there wasn't a super-express, ship by MWD Inty option.

Originally by: Wanoah There are several pieces of fiction on offer including no less than two stories from HellGremlin/Istvaan Shogatsu, which explains the interminable wait for the next instalment of the Hamish Saga I suppose. Yes, that is a mild criticism there...
I'm working on it. Any thoughts on the fiction pieces themselves?

Edited by: Dante Chusuk on 06/10/2005 09:11:44 Mine turned up yesterday in the post and I would have read it earlier if I hadn't been asked out to a young lady's birthday drinking session after work (OMG real life intervened!!!). I read it at about 2am but decided to wait a bit before seeing if there was a "review" thread.
Have to say it makes some of the classic car magazines I read look pitiful in terms of how it works with the subject. And the quality is just ... WOW!!!
Exchange Rate and Bedtime Story were up to a certain writer's usual high standards I felt and more than explains the delay in Hamish Saga chapter 7. When I read the opening profile I saw "soft cuddly side" and thought "God no what's happened!!!". Exchange Rate was excellent and very dark and the closing line rounds it off nicely. Bedtime Story does start off all cute and fuzzy compared to the darker side of the author's persona we have been exposed to but there is a lesson to be learnt here ... make your choice of interstellar transport more wisely! The closing two paragraphs seem to me like the dark side of fate gently chuckling in the background as you close out with the most unlikely of objects making it through to the end of the story ...
Nice to see WDA making a showing too, does this mean Urban might get a few more guest strips when Winterblink goes off to pen something for EON?
I felt DigitalCommunist's review article was worth a read too even though I already have made my choice about an HAC.
Worth the money compared to other magazines I buy (NO not THAT type )? Definitely. Glad I payed for the full year subscription? HELL YEAH!
Have a good one and hope it shows up Soon for the overseas customers. DC Eve Underground Radio

It was thinner than I axpected on first glance too, but reading it, it was all substance and zero fat.
And I just loved Bedtime Story too. God knows why, but as soon as those ships started mining it... omg I could not stop laughing. I don't know if I am supposed to laugh or go 'Aww, such a shame' or whatever. But to me it was the funnyest ending I had read to anything.
One note though, I expected there to be some pics and concept art of the Titans in the cover story. (Just dying to know what the Amarr/Caldari ones look like) Though plenty to chew on there in the text, so nice job.
Still have to read Exchange Rate and Are You Clonesome Tonight, but if they are as good as the other two, that will be a treat worth waiting for. ------

Edited by: Cadman Weyland on 06/10/2005 16:45:42 Im in the north of scotland, got my copy 2day, thanks Royal mail.
Not that bad a mag, loved the info on Titans, Carriers and other "oversized" ships, nice concept drawings. More info on the possible next batch of BS/BCs would have been nice though. Thought the HAC comparrison and items on trading were good. Not read the stories as yet.
But and its a big but. Its not really worth the cash i had to fork out for it. For the money it cost id have expected the mag to have been at least twice the size it was and hard back. Nothing that is in it really couldnt have been added to this website and the forums had ccp wanted.
Im inclined to give it 5/10, nice content, worth having the 1st edition for,but im not sure if id bother with copies thereafter. Depends how flush i am at the time i guess.

A code for a unique module or ship would be nice. Doesn't have to be anything over-powering. Maybe one ship for each race. Caldari could get a kest with an extra low-slot and some new textures.

"when something does happens."
another error on the first page inside the mag. Come on guys get a proof reader
Otherwise a nice production, interesting articles (except the one that starts praising the Cerberus for its combat abilities, a little reality check needed imo ), and some nice info on Titans and Carriers too.
