We want to emphasize that we do not store billing information, the only risk was concerning password usage and subsequent abuse of the accounts in question
??? My last 4 CC details appear on the accounts page, and you appear to be able to bill me every 6months ok, so how exactly are you doing this if you dont have my billing info?

NO they are called HACKERS ... they changed something or have stolen something ... C.R.A.C.K.E.R.S. only get in a system and leve a sign that they were there ... but in this case the have stolen accounts or changed the password
Hackers are nice very clever people :-)
*****ers tend to run brute force attacks or scripts with no real knowledge of the system and cause damage or steal stuff. However there probably are some very clever *****ers :-)

Unfortuantly out of the 57 accounts being hacked 2 of them were mine my 3rd account wasnt touched. I just hope we get all our stuff back and the loss of training as my skill finished @ 12:30 eve time 
Keep up the good work guys I know you are under the spot light but I am sure you will sort thsi mess out asap.

My password got changed on my main, so I used the reset password button on the login...still haven't received an email and I can't login tot he serevr - what do I do now? ;/

Would it be possible to get the offcial word on what to do if you have changed your email address in the account management page and yet you still can't reset your password.
I'm probably not going to be online til Sunday so if I have to start a petition I'd like to do it now!

I don't know how many hours of skill training I've lost to stupid arsed up crap like this because I can't qeue up the next skill that I want to train.
I pays my moneys. I wants to train my skillz when I wants to train my skillz. FIX THIS CRAAAAP.
I've waited 6.5 damn days to queu up the next skill on my list and when I log on to start training it? Guess what? The server is down.
FIX THIS CRAAAAP. Or at least give me a few free hours worth of skill training when I log back on due to the time lost.

Except, you cant login to Account Management, to manually change your pass, because your pass has been changed, and the mail hasnt turned up yet...

its interesting, but a while ago, one of my friends told me that the eve's client traffic transmitted the login details in plain text across the network - even showed me the packet dumps. As soon as i was told, i changed my password to something unique for eve.
Now were back at work again, the same guy mentioned to me a couple of days ago that since RMR the authentication traffic is now encrypted.
Now, personally if that was all true then the only supprise from my perspective is that "it was only 57 accounts?" or "this didnt happen during cold war?"

The above is quoted from the email I received. Unfortunately I am at work, and I have no way to check and see if my account is fubarred. For all I know I have lost all my cash, ships, bpos and other assets, and I have to wait 8 plus hours to find out.

I certainly hope lost assets will be replaced...it should be fairly easy to do, since any transfer, escrow or trade done during a certain time frame would be fraudulent.

57 Accounts out of the 30,000 or so registered users is only 0.2% of accounts.

2 of my accounts had their pw changed. One of them apparently has my email from 2.5 years ago when I first signed up, which isn't a working email addy anymore. The other one was, but I have filled in the form a dozen times, and...no email. So what are we sposed to do to get our info back if the email addy on the acct isnt active anymore?

my 0.02 isk on hacker vs *****er
first: stop derailing the thread!
second: these terms are used different in different places...
for example:
hacker="normal" programmer *****er="badboy" programmer
or:
hackers=guys beeing able to hack computers coding their own xploits..., *****ers=guys *****ing copy protection in games/progs/.....
in second case hackers are further subclassified into white and black hats
but anyway we ALL know what everyone meant so let's stop this fruitless discussion ;-)
