You really think CCP would keep the servers down this long for 57 people who were silly enough to give out there passwords... NO take off the blinkers and look around by luck they may have dropped on this as soon as it happened and stopped it before more accounts were affected.
Either way this is serious enough for them to keep the servers off line so reading between the lines right now this looks like it was a hack on the servers not clients.

bah stop crying about not recieving any mails yet.
i cant even request new pw cause my email/accountname doesnt match, and any old email it may have changed itself to, is 100% impossible to resurrect.

My account password was changed, and I hadn't recieved an email. So I did what oveur said. I went into account managment, changed my password and waited an hour for my email. Password was reset without incident. All my stuff is right where I left it. Just because your account password was changed, doesnt mean your account was hacked. I think a lot were changed as a precaution.

Doh... The CC info and billing is being done from a completely separate system, obviously. The fact that the last 4 figures are shown is only there for your own reference so you know which card you used, and it's the ONLY info stored in the EVE database concerning your CC. I wouldn't be surprised if CCP has the whole CC-charging thing contracted out to another company all together.
But, now, concerning this password hack. Consider this. 57 Accounts have been hacked. How could that have been done? The only way I see, other than hacking CCP itself, is if these ppl have had some keylogging virus infection on their PC's. Apparantly the pw's were sent to the virus makers. What worries me is this:
If this is true, and the ppl are not aware they have been infected, what good will setting new pw's do? These will just be sent to the hackers like the original was, right?
Can some of you with their accounts hacked, confirm (with any degree of certainty, i.o.w. know what you're talking about) whether or not this is the result from a virus or hack of your system?

After reading Oveur's sticky I followed the advice to change my pw. Could log on this morning without a problem and didn't notice anything missing, but since it's been the same pw for years a change seemed a good idea. But boy, Murphy got me! Now I cannot log in with my new pw nor with the old one.

if your account is down, or inaccesible, that doesnt mean it got hacked at all. Mine was too, nothing wrong with it now i can get back in after a pw reset.
CCP blocked alot of account for security reasons, so the fact it is blocked doesnt mean it's been used by a third party.

i could log in with my 2 accounts before DT, too..
but after DT my main is FUBARŠed...
Got my rl friend now on MSN. But PW reset downŠt work .. He didnŠt get the email until now..
Some accounts of my corpmembers are FUBARŠed , too.
Can a dev plz respond how long it takes to reset the PW ?

2 out of 3 accounts still unaccessible. It's been one hour now since Oveur said the emails had starting rolling out some time ago.
So my instinct tells me to retreive it through 'lost my password' but then there's the risk that I need to wait double the time until the second mail arrives. So I think it's wise to just wait a bit longer, but how much? I got a gmail address which isn't exactly a slow mail provider..
It would be nice if CCP could give us a sign when the last batch of emails has gone out..

Maybe, but 57 could just be the (confirmed) tip of the iceberg, of course. I think they did well to respond the way they did. One other alternative way, about which I asked Oveur on page 1, is if these account were force-hacked. That would certainly have gotten the attention of CCP as they can trace this in their logs. Maybe the number of accounts targeted was much larger and "only" 57 were succesful.

And what's the deal with "the email has been sent to the mail which i have suscribed, not the updated one"? I don't remember which mail my other account had when I suscribed (hey, it's been 3 years!). Can someone confirm/infirm this?

Like many other i got my main account password disabled and waiting for the email. I haven't done or tried the "forgot password" thing yet.
What i don't understand is why my second account, this one, is still working fine. Why was it not disabled aswell ?

My guess is that cpp reset every account with a password that hasnt been changed for x months.
Someone counter this? mine has certainly been the same for a while now..
just 1 exception to this and this idea is flawed.
