Originally by: Johannes Keppler I used to contribute to the uploads on that site, then a lot of people started crowding the routes that I myself was running.
You really should cut access to people who don't upload, it takes over 71 minutes to scan only the blueprints in 1 region, (not that there are usually profitable blueprint routes, its just an example of the time involved in exporting tables.)
Letting the leaches get the info is no fun at all.
I like this tool, and I'd agree with the statement above here, Would be very cool to see you needing to upload 5 market reports to make a search, or maybe unless you've uploaded 10 market reports the past 168 hours, you can't use the tradefinder. I keep the Site as secret as possible to avoid those pesky leaches, I've seen them in action. Now I've finally found something I can put to good use. I'd be damn to let leaches and noobs ruin it for me. Finally a way to make a bug without having to stay Eve-line 24/7. I like eve for not being like say WoW, unless you have no life you have no game....
By the way it took me some 4-5 hours doing the full market or was it 6, not doing that again.
Still waiting for ingame voice, with voice mods. |

Ive uploaded a great deal of info. I have never once used the information. So ask me why I do it? So anyone who wants to can have access to that information. If people are hiding the site because they are afraid of *leeches* and *newbs*, I'll quit updating. I had both my characters in Eve University for a reason ( The other is Sarmea Moon). I prefer to help other players, without asking for anything in return. I think the originator of this program had a great idea ( thank you Kaladr). My first ton of uploads I did without even bothering to log in. I wonder how many others have done the same, that these users want to lock out?

I've cleaned up the corp homepage service - which some of the corps actually use . No more ugly EVEC headers and weird page layouts. You're now simply inside a <body> tag with a <h1> on top - the rest is up to you.
And just a reminder on the corp pages. You can password your corp, and set pages on your EVEC website to "director view only". This means only your directors which you have given the password to can "join" the corp on EVE-Central.com and read your site. Also, when they leave the corp and visit EVEC again, the user is automagically removed from the corp. The password step is optional, but recommended as its possible to forge credentials (but not totally trivial).
Now a quick question. I'm looking to improve the site some in the next week or two, and curious what people are looking for...
What improvements to the market browser, uploader, or corp system would you like to see? E-mail, EVE-mail, or post to this thread.
Also, I'm stalking the forums looking for the Kali database dump so I can update systems, the tradefinder graph, and most importantly, types (new ships, mods, rigs, etc). If you see it posted on the forums, poke me and send me the link.
Thanks - Kaladr
(PS: I have some half implemented features still, like the corp ads, so some features are easier to implement ;)).

I'm a bit annoyed... Eve central's uploader appears to delete market logs after uploading. Since I also use Eve Trade Finder, sometimes it sees the tradelog in time, sometimes it doesn't. |

Thanks for the great site Kaladr.
I've noticed a minor bug you may not be aware of. When trying to price any sort of Datacore, it's difficult to determine exactly which Datacore's prices you are looking at. If you search for Datacore, you'll see multiple item types, but all with the same name.
It looks like you are parsing the market log filename correctly, since you have multiple entries, but I suspect some of the data display parsing is incorrect. This is probably due to not anticipating that an item name might include a dash. A sample name would be "Datacore - Plasma Physics" and "Datacore - Laser Physics".

Its as correct as there are uploads to correct it. Check the time, which is clearly shown on every entry, and if its old its probably out of date :)
As for donations, ISK wise send them to Kaladr. Real money wise, send me an email for details. ---- EVE-Central.com - Cross-region market view and trade finder |

Hi Kaladr,
I noticed earlier that someone wasn't happy that the client deletes the files when it's uploaded the data.
Maybe an option to either delete the market files or move them to another directory would be a good idea? I know I'd find that handy.
Great site by the way

Quoted for empathy. I think it's a great idea to have a mandatory contribution to use this tool, it's way too valuable to be free. In addition, it will greatly increase its efficiency by having more uploads. ATM, it's more than often likely that whatever is posted is VERY outdated and therefore, useless. Please institute something. |

Fantastic work Kaladr, just amazing! 2 thoughts:
Multispectral Frequency Probe is missing (although I've been uploading it), and
I would be more than happy to do additional scans for items that need it...if there is someway to alert us to which data is old or missing, I would be happy to do additional scans (ain't much to do while mining anyway) if I knew which data was in need of refreshing!
Keep up the AMAZING work!!!!

What must I do if I want to work with it? IŠve set the using folder to my capture/marketlogs folder but nothing happened if I start the programm? I can say "scan now" as often as I want"... and then?

Improved implants are coming as soon as I can drudge them out of the old market dumps.
I'll check into multispectral probes, probably suffer a similar fate as the implants.

Hi - for starters, great tool - it's very handy for profitable runs in between systems.
I do have one gripe, though - and I tested it extensively last night. My problem is that if I go to a region and do a market dump for a particular product, and my client uploads it, it should update anything that's in the database currently. Last night the site was giving me the option to travel to Metropolis because something was being sold for twice the ISK/unit I could buy it for. I'm sure this buy order existed at some point, but it's a good job I checked before I ran the route because I'd have been out of pocket several million ISK had I not.
When I got there, and discovered that the target region no longer had this buy order in effect, I dumped the market info for that item and watched as the client uploaded it. The website is still (currently almost 24 hours after the original upload) showing the nonexistent buy order. I understand that one should check to see if old listings are still correct, but if I update a particular item in a region with new market info, it should surely remove the old info and replace it with my new one?
On top of this, doing a market search query for anything and trying to filter it down to any number of hours (e.g. 10 or 5 or 1) to get things that had only been reported recently, it would still show market reports from 24h, 36h, sometimes even days previously. I don't know why it wasn't working, but it wasn't.
Other than these issues - I love the tool. If you could just make it remove old market details when new ones for that product in that region were uploaded, and make it so I can filter it to, say, uploads from the last hour, then it'd be truly awesome.
Thanks again.

The idea behind this tool is great, but at the moment it seems to be slightly out of date too often.

While Kaladr I think has done a wonderful job with the uploader tool, I still think there needs to be a lot of pressure on getting CCP to put a proper Market export tool.
Rather than just requesting it as 'would be nice' feature, I started a thread in the Features forum about sorting this out once and for all. Have a look for yourselves at this thread.
