Maybe it has to do with the "Voice account" it set up for me without asking if I want one at all. I don't even have a mic here. I wouldn't be too surprised if it just hangs trying to find a sound input device. Is this a possible cause for the problem?
I'm having the same issue. I got in fine this morning and as the day wore on (my day off from work) I started to experience more and more lag. Now I can't get past the character selection screen as it hangs while trying to enter the game.
Same here

I keep getting the dreaded windows blue screen of death whenever i get targeted. I have also re-installed my eve client a few times and still nothing seems to work. I haven't tried it since i ran the windows sound card update patch thingy.
My system setup is as follows
P4 3.2Ghz 2.00Gb Ram ATI Sapphire X1650Pro PCIE16x Integrated Realtek Sound card
I keep getting the same error, something about a bug check failure and a memory dump.

I have just recently got a new Core2Duo E4500 cpu and a Radeon X1950XT. These idle at 22'c and 38'c respectively, underload (in game) they run at 44'c and 65'c respectively.
Now I can fly around various systems and uses the UI fine.
However when coming out of warp to certain stargates or stations in empire, the game freezes and my pc reboots. I have approached other stargates and stations out of warp fine with no reboot.
However one station in particular will do it without fail, in that i get stuck there, and everytime i log into the game it tries to come out of warp and reboots :(
This never happened on my old P4 and Rev II, so dont know whether its a setting or hardware related. There is a cache thing in eve settings that is set to high, should I try changing this do you think? to ease the load or something? = Times of Ancar =

The game freezes after a minute playing and then the scren goes black and then turns blue and then I have to reboot my computer. It happens almost everytime, just when I get out of the Jita M4 station. It's pretty annoying and I had no problems with revelations II, only with trinity now. I tried reinstalling the client but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

same thing happened to me couple of minutes ago . Left jita , got short gfx bug followed by crash and reboot . Logged in again , flew to another gate , crashed again .
Happened nowhere else just in and around jita :)

Some part of network has still disconections problems. I have Chello connection from UPC and it worked fine long time but 13-11-2007 something was broken. Probably my part of network was reconnected on new cable (or something like that). I have new IP number and cant play EVE longer than few minuts. I think there is problem in priority of connections in ISP installation or in EVE serwers. Only way is change ISP and pray about better connection.

Man this thing has totaly burned me, I like a challenge but this is silly. I looked in the task manager and what happens for me is that the eve.exe starts with the EveFiles.exe and the splash screen apears but then about 5 seconds later the splash screen dies along with the eve.exe leaving the EveFiles.eve sitting in my task manager doing nothing.
My screen froze on me this afternoon after opening a 2nd client, after which I had the same problem as yourself - taskmanager and taskbar showing eve.exe running but no visual. (Prior to this since patch it has been running ragged on one of two clients in windowed mode - and on two occasions the pc rebooted.
Every other program worked, including my MadOnion benchmark (with no loss in performance) but I still tried re-installing gfx drivers/client etc to no avail. Then I tried running the client directly from the Eve program file in the bin folder and the MSDOS screen kept repeatedly coming up with an error: Lost D3D. Google provided me with this link which basically told me my problems were in the DirectX files (a dll got corrupted when the game originally froze maybe???). I downloaded the latest (November) version of DX9 and finally I'm back in business.
Worth a try if you don't get any joy elsewhere.

I'm having a problem with Trinity crashing on my laptop when I am using premium content. It's fine while I'm sitting in a station, but as soon as I undock the program crashes claiming to have a problem in a dll, usually blue.dll but not always. I did some more testing and it seems that everything works when I'm in empty space, but as soon as I go to an area where a structure happens to be the game crashes. I don't have any problems when using classic content.
Specs: Intel Core2 Duo (1.6 Ghz or so) NVidia GeForce Go 7400 1 Gb RAM Windows XP SP2 etc.
I hope it's not a hardware problem.
Thanks

Strange, for me it happened just after seing C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser gate. Shortly before that I'd seen attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.

a day before servers went down to install Trinity, something happened and I was unable to run more than one client due to heavy processing by the game(didnt have any problem before that). Then after uninstalling Several times and reinstalling and upgrading drivers and just about everything except clean install of windowsXP, things have gone from very bad to even worse. I now can barely set a new skill before I get disconnected, even while I'm on a station and not moving at all and noone chatting on the corp or whatever. I tried to petition, but got disconnected just before I finished it. copy/paste from .txt doc wont do much either because I can barely write a single line in the corp chan before I get DC. I'm really running out of options because I've tried most if not all suggestions I've found on these forums related to this, aint easy either to find them hidden in a flood of mails like mine...

Same problem here. I open the icon on my desktop, get the initial screen which hangs for about 30 seconds and it shuts down. The rest of my comp seems to be running fine. I have tried every update, patch, scan disk etc. known to man and nothing. Haven't been able to log in for nearly a week. I petitioned the devs and got a form letter response. Running Windows XP Pro, 128 MB NVIDIA FX5200, Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz. Had zero problems before the patch. Now I can't even get the login screen. Any answers out there?

For the people not getting beyond the Ferox login screen: I had a similar problem pre-trinity.
The problem was directx acceleration, which I had turned off.
In XP: Start -> run -> dxdiag -> display tab. Enable dirextx accelaration.
This helped me, it might help you.

It also happens at offset 000534a8 sometimes, too. Either way it's infuriating, because it means I can't spend any amount of time around stargates otherwise I crash. And then crash again. And then crash AGAIN. Which is to say, I can't really PvP because, you know, most PvP happens at stargates.
And that makes me angry. ------ Director, No Quarter "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the judicious application of violence." |

Edited by: Princesse Qiao on 13/12/2007 11:21:07 This is mainly for Dimex: The handytone is principally a voip router and may be giving QOS priority to VOIP devices. You could try setting your PC as DMZ or better still setting up port forwarding to your PC for the eve port (p20 of the manual here: http://www.grandstream.com/user_manuals/HandyTone-486UserManual.pdf). Failing that I have been using an SPA2000 hooked up to a plain old lnksys router for years with no problem (spa would be a pap2 linksys now as they bought Sipura). If you need any help with this feel free to evemail me. |

Ok, this is my 10 cents...
I've been very frustrated and swore high and low at CCP for giving us this great game but allowed it to crash on us.
For weeks I lost numerous drones because my PC would just die and restart while anywhere in any system or mission... or station... lately there was a pattern; every 10 minutes (give or take a few).
In my case it is was not client, sound or patch related. My best assessment is that it was heat. So, I vacuumed the PC and for good measure, moved the video card to another slot.
What do you know, no crashes since. All the time wasted searching and swearing (not to mention the drone loss) if only I did the basics right... I was on the brink of buying a new PC!!
Good luck to all that are still having EVE die on them, I know what worked for me may not work for you.

most of us are experiencing client crashes.. particularly with a dll file. What you are talking about is an actual "system" crash. They are different crashes. Thanks for your input but i doubt vacuuming our PC's and jiggling its balls will stop the client Eve.exe to stop crashing.

Well, sofar I have had 2 problems with the new client on both classic and premium.
After cleaning out thh comptuer and defaulting my overclocking, drivers, video and audio settings checking the directX 9 and 10 *checked fine* even after adjustsments default or othewise. doing a full system wide H.D. DoD 10 wipe on a 500gig SATA Drive *48* hours reinstalling xp pro sp2 on one comp and xp pro sp3 rc1 on the other.
Installing eve premium on main comp and classic on the other *torrent download seems to work better then the others*
the first week before i did all this both clients were buggy but playable then 2 days ago i started getting massive disconnects
I ran diag test on everything from internet/isp / hops/ fps. and so on.
now that ive done everything and more stated and above, ***** More problems now then i did when getting disconnected *****
the above is where the 1st problem comes in. this pic and after about 20-30 login atempts my eyes arnt too go but i'd say about 80 - 92 % into this phase *insta crash* non responsive.crashes as is video and all. If im lucky enough i can windozzze the key back to the desktop and shut it down 50/50 chance otherwise im doing a soft reset to clear it.
after 20-30 login attemps, if im lucky to login.. i seem to always disconnect instation after about 10 mins +/- or in roid belts with drones outs or on npc missions.
i just ran out of GTC yesterday, bought another..
I am very dissapointed in ccp's client. yeah i like the graphics.. but as for now.. i'd give all of it up to have a working client again
anyone else having this problem as well, and yes im refering to the login. NOT the disconnects. theres enough posts on that allready.
any ideas as to what i might be missing. as far as the login non- responsive. I thought i might have missed something or forgot to check something i may have yet to look at. |

Tried to fiddle with a lot of options, but nothing seems to work. Each time I undock from a station, Crash within 10 secs. If I'm out in 0.0 and in my pod, I'm good, than if I try to get into a ship.. crash! It's annoying as hell. The classic client runs without a hickup...
