Hey folks I have been having a problem during the last week or so. I am able to run 1 account on a system, but the minute i get 2 accounts no joy. Does not matter which account. I launch EvE, log into the first account. No problems. I launch the 2nd account and can log in, select my character, and the system pulls the data down, even tells me the station I am in the Booom...nothing.
No messages, no warnings, no nothing the system will not run 2 accounts simultaneously.
I turned off the firewall, eliminated any system scanners, and while it improves the speed of login, and the pull of data coming down faster but just before i pop into the station, poof EVE shuts down.
Memory is good processor is good , system has been stable for 13 months.
No new programs installed
any ideas?

Hi everyone,
Uhm, I seem to be getting a very strange error. My computer crashes entirely upon being targeted by enemy AI. Then and only then. I mean, it doesn't CTD, it completely restarts. I can be targeted by a player, and I can target myself, and everything else works a charm, but as soon as I enter combat, crash. I'm running Windows XP SP2, Radeon X1950 Pro, Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2 GB RAM. Everything else on my computer runs beautifully. I'm going to try and reinstall the client, but is there any other ideas?

I am experiencing the exact same problem that IceRaven describes, and have been doing so ever since the advent of Trinity. I realize that one should anticipate some growing pains with major expansions, but I expected that CCP would have come up with a solution to this one by now. I've been patiently waiting for some sign that the problem is being worked on, but, sadly, so far I've seen nothing to indicate help is on the way. My patience is beginning to wear a bit thin, and in my frustration, I suppose I'm just feeling the need to vent a little bit and to add my name to the list of players needing a solution.
For what it's worth, I'm running a high-end hp machine with 64-bit Windows Vista Premium, Intel dual-core 6700 @ 2.66 GHz, 4 GB physical memory, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS card. I can't believe this is a hardware problem--although I'm not much of a computer geek, I tend to think it's a memory leakage issue--and I don't think I/we should still be having these problems this long after the expansion was introduced. CCP, please at least indicate that you're aware of the problem and that you're working to resolve it.

Hi, Well I am another one with the same problem. I am using a Toshiba Qosmio G40 with a Nvidia 8600 GT 2 GB RAM, Vista Premium, I play Crysis and MoH Airborne on it at med-high specs without a glitch. When I use EVE with only 1 client its fine, when I fire up the second client, got freze to black screen randomly between 30 mins to 4 hrs, lowered graphics to classic, lowered general resolutions, still same problem. All drivers and bios up to date. So far I see a lot of complaints on the forum, but no reply from CCP. What the point of having a second account, if I cannot use it simultaniously. I mine, he haul... Thanks CCP in advance

I have had the same problem for about a week, i can play 2 accounts of EQ2 Wow and several other games, and yet this one I can only run 1 account, it takes me 10mins to log in to 1 account now, while im having the problem my CPU is only at 70%, memory at 86%, its not my connection, or my computer, or my instal, firewall, antivirus, or anything else on my computer or my network or my isp, and yes I even re-installed to a different folder name, it happens at logg in, at gates, and even browsing the market, clicking someone's info window also does it, im on vista, im not interestd in hearing whats wrong with my computer, but ccp should be doing something about how our client access's its data base server or the way the game access's it. because thats where the problem seems to be. And doing logg files isnt going to help much if its a server side problem, unless they are going to match what is happening on your computer to theirs, which they already say they cant do when you file a petition. I guess they are watching the thread but to chicken to say anything, and im over continiously changing my UI when I log in, and that isnt my computers problem either. My comments are my own and arent neccesarily anything to do with my corp.

The game works perfect, BUT after about 30mins of play, the game just freezes every few mins for about 3 secs. I know this is a known issue.
What I really dont get is, Ive become acustomed to these freezes, but when i go into a PvP battle, and ONLY a PvP battle, eve crashes, for around 1 min. and then goes back to normal. The one time you need it to be stable, in a matter of life or death and it locks up. Its killing me with frustration.
Everyone here is having differnt or similar problems, its like Trinity is a curse on the game. Nothing has been right since.

Edited by: Dragokh on 08/02/2008 07:25:10 Unfortunately the latest drivers for Realtek Hi-def don't solve the BSOD (or reboot, depending on your Windows "error recovery" options) problem. I submitted a bug report complete with a crash dump which clearly points to audio when debugged. Oddly enough I was told the problem wasn't reproducible even though it's listed as a known issue here in this thread; sounds like a comms failure to me. /shrug
With the latest drivers the game seems to stay up longer before the crash happens but it still dies in the end. I don't know how much more helpful I can be from my end than sending a dump like I already have.

My client locks up my PC at relatively random intervals. It requires a reboot to fix. Sometimes it's as quick as on the log in screen, other times it could be an hour or longer. It seems to happen more often during the day (16:00 to 18:00 GMT) It started before Trinity and has continued. I reinstalled Windows XP and EVE and it persists, I think it may have gotten worse. My PC and drivers are up to date. I have turned off sound acceleration, and have played portal and crysis with no issues. I had a soundblaster X-fi card before the problem started but it started the squeal of death thing (google it) so i removed it. I am using the onboard sound. It happens in windowed and fullscreen mode.

I use the classic client. My EVE crashes... well. Whenever it feels like it. I can go 10-15 minutes fine and then crash. After that it crashes generally again and again within say 2-4 minutes of game play before it crashes. Doesn't matter what I'm doing. Managing market orders, sitting in station, gate-camping etc.... Crashes out. Sometimes my computer does a hard-reboot instead of simply crashing to desktop. There seems to be no indication of why it does a hard-reboot other than the reboot only occurs after EVE has crashed to desktop several times already.
I have audio disabled. I run EVE in a window. This has only started occurring since Trinity. I tried all the audio related options described in this thread. I yanked my sound card entirely. I disabled the onboard audio. No fix at all. I did a fresh install of EVE. I turned off virtually all other programs. No music or media players running in the background. I even tried playing with Ventrillo off. Just to make sure. I tried running the logserver to see if any kind of error would show up. Instead it seems as if when EVE crashes out everything is fine. The logserver doesn't log any kind of Error at all.
My system is ancient. But has no issues running say, FIFA 07, Oblivion (on low settings of course), Portal etc... for hours on end.
Athlon XP 3200+ ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Muse XL sound card (extremely ancient). Nforce 2 motherboard. 1024 megs of ram
Looking through this thread I'm finding at least a dozen people describing similar random crashing experience. All with different systems but the same basic symptom of random crash leading to random crash leading to hard-reboot. All of it post trinity.
WTF gives? I can no longer do anything in EVE outside of trading. And that only because I can log in, check my orders and log out in less than a few minutes. I suffer through the crashes while I move my industrial around in hi-sec. But this is quite frankly disturbing to find that the issue may be relatively wide-spread. I've got a month or so left on my GTCs. But I can't see myself paying more money for a game that now no longer plays for more than a few minutes at a time.

i have a problem when running multi accounts on dual screens and changing screen size/location. Some times when I move game to a new screen and i change the disply option(ESC select disply) to same screen and or resize. the client crashes i am using: 2@ GE 6800 vidcards 1280X1024 (largest possible on LCD),same on CRT M2N-E sli capable MOBO (Not SLI'ed) 4200+cpu unclocked 4 gb ram XP pro
Also notice that 1 client gives options of several resolutions ie 1024x768 to 1280x1024 (6-8 steps) but other clients only give 2 options smallest/largest. only using 1 client and only 1 installed.
1 character (this One) also has problems with star map sometimes only see black screen. error not/never present on other toons. comp has been rebuilt/installed new client etc and problem still present.
Cheers anyone that helps

At the moment I've been running EVE stable for the longest time since Revelations. Only difference is I've disabled my second monitor, yanked the cable and rebooted.
No crashes and its running stable. At higher frame-rates than I recall seeing before.
Not exactly the solution I want. But it seems to work.

The exefile continues to randomly crash. Every other game/application/task on my computer works flawlessly and has since I built the rig many months ago. I've sent the Logserver output with petitions. I've reinstalled video, audio, and any other driver I could think of just to be sure, and even thought about lighting candles to the crash avoidance gods. From other threads it seems the problem causing the random crashes is known, the fix is known, but is not released. The random crashes make this game unplayable and I'm tired of trying to work around it - I cancelled my subscription. This game is one of the better ones I have played recently, unfortunately, it is also the worst when it comes to bugs and support. Oh well, glad others are lucky enough to be able to play it.

The Server disconnects me at an average of every 3-5 minutes with the message - Server Connection Lost.
As others have said, happens after I select my character and get in-game. I've lost a Fully equipped Retriever already.
This started on Saturday, Feb 16, 2008. Before that, worked like a charm.
Solutions I tried... 1. Reconnect -- drops again 2. Reinstall program -- no luck 3. Adjust sound accelleration via dxdiag 4. Uninstalled Eve and deleted all references in the Register 5. Used the latest full build (various combinations of the above too.)
Not sure what else to do. My enjoyment of the game is mining, and frankly, as of Sunday, I don't feel I can play the game. I am paid thru the mid of Mar, but logging in and getting kicked back off is reaching a limit.
Note: I am not being disconnected from the internet, just the Eve Client

"CCP exefile has encountered an error and had to shut down" Same as Bubbles and Trolan. Game worked fine for weeks, then for the past month, this issue appears.
I have reformated, reinstalled, updated windows/video/audio
I have turned cache on low, turned off audio, not on premium
This keeps kicking me from the game every 5min-2hours, and if it isn't resolved, this game will not last long for many of us.

Can I add my voice to this as well. "CCP Exe has stopped working" error 8 times yesterday. 2 different PCs, no apparent hardware similarities.
This is not good enough, and I sent in a petition which was booted around by CCP for weeks and then they timed my petition out and closed it with no fix because I had not sent them anything for a week. One of their responses took a week to come and I didn't take any action against them (asking for a refund on 3 accounts came to mind). I just wish that players of Eve were treated with a little more respect by CCP. We pay their wages, after all.

I've been having this problem with one of my EVE installations and have just been using the main one and now that one is suffering the same problem. Has been fine and now all of a sudden after a day of random disconnects - it's not working at all.
Tried re-install. still the same. Odd how it works for a while and then kaboom and then stays like it.

Well ...
Eve worked fairly well on my ATI card until Trinity came out.
I made the mistake of undocking ... 2 months of heartache, banging my head against the wall, and missed training on 2 accounts later ... I'm done.
I even went to the trouble of building a fresh brand new LINUX (Ubuntu, Gentoo, Mandrake, Fedora, tried all of them) installs to see if it would work that way.
No luck.
I loved the game, but it ain't worth the frustration, and I refuse to buy hardware specifically for one game. Everything else under the sun works with my ATI Radeon ... DAoC, MS Flight Sim, CounterStrike, Orbiter, etc ... only EVE gives me trouble. Yet, when I have a problem with the client, the standard boilerplate answer from CCP is "there's nothing wrong with our software, it's your (insert random hardware driver here) that's causing the problem, go buy an Nvidea card". Bah!!!
$300+ dollars (US) and over a year of my time down the drain because CCP can't figure out how to play nice with an ATI video card.
I started playing this thing to relax after a hard day at work ... not to wind up going to bed angry every night because the client locks my PC up after 20 seconds of play.
I'm done. Cancelling my accounts ... not that CCP seems to really care about the ATI users.
Rhynng (aka Banesteth) out and gone.

Not like this post will do anything, but fix the damn EVEexe file problem. I've done all the suggested actions and it's still happening every 1.5-4hrs DAILY. I've had enough close calls with this pesky problem and may your gods help you all if I lose a ship because of it.

Morning/Evening all......Crashing/Freezing problem solution....
I was suffering from XP crashes and freezing and all that pain in the ass stuff, I even went to the point of buying a new NVidia 8500GT Fatality card (although I wanted that for dual screen anyway) and also disabling my Realtek audio device......all of this failed to solve the problem.............UNTIL I opened up Speedfan and saw that my Video card was running at 62degreesC!!! I have installed an additional fan on the card (now running at 42 degreesC) and I have not had a single freeze/lag/crash even though I have full Premium grpahics running adn all sound reactivated.
So, In short: Check your temps! I was close to abandoning the game, but now I am back in there!
Hope this helps some of your disillusioned souls!

62 deg C is positively cool for a graphics card. Reducing your temps will not do any harm but the safe operating temps for most GPU's really quite high.
I'm getting loads of CCP.EXE crash to desktop, I'll do a bit of digging but I reckon the Realtek drivers for my onboard soundcard are going to be the main culprit. I'll post any success/failure.

I didn't start having crashes until the tournament started, now it is down every few minuets? Yet same computer same setting played for over nine hours without interruption day before the match started? Like you I have tried everything, with no improvement. Is there any way for me to connect to a different server?

Perhaps there are worse things then being disconnected! I reconnected to my modem without the router and no disconnects!!! Now my LAG time is so high I can't target or even see damage being done! Was destroyed by a single ship that didn't show in rang or locked!!!! Grrrrrr

Same prob. playing then freeze -> crash to reboot.
either after leaving station or warping to gate.
Read something about forcing the client in the options plannel for certain fps to stop it from running up to xtra high fps which would crash the gfxcard.
