Now all ok. I just reinstall my Radeon X800 Pro drivers with this: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=9

I keep crashing. I reinstalled my video card driver, when that didn't work I deleted the entire EVE folder, and reinstalled EVE. I still get crashes, the error when sending the report to Miscrosoft is "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER"
Any solutions to this? its starting to get very annoying.

I've updated all drivers, attempted to disable the audio card (via bios), removed the audio harware acceleration, disabled ingame sound, bought a new audio card, uninstalled and installed the game several times, but the game keeps crashing (latest patch applied with no errors - latest full client installed too)
System is as follow: - M/B ASUS P5N-E SLI - Intel core Duo 6600 - 4 GB S3 DDR2 PC-6400 - 8600 GT Xpert Vision 256 Mb - Maxtor DiamondMax 320 gb
No overclock, temperatures are normal. No issues with other games. Client crashes under Vista or XP. After crash the PC runs smoothly and can immediately connect to the game again.
Problem solved removing 2 gb of RAM (sigh). Apparently EVE has issues in managing 4 gb (same problem under VISTA 32 and XP). It is anyway the only game that crashes my PC. Hope CCP address the issue soon!!!

I have the following bug: when i press Escape, the window appears transparent, only the writing visible, and it freezes there [oh, and forgot: anything outside of the window box is usable as it would be during normal gameplay (can jettinson from cargo hold, browse chat channels, etc)]. Un-installed and re-installed eve, still does the same thing. Here's a screenshot: clicky When i click the "close window" button, it does nothing; also, if i alt+tab, it crashes with a "eve.exe has encountered a problem..." message.
erm... halp?

Hello folks.
I think it is more than safe to say that this is a client based issue.
Here is the real test. What other MMORPGs do you play? Are they running with errors? IS ANYTHING else on your system besides Eve not working right?
Nuff said. Please get this fixed.

for my part, I noticed the multi-client problem with other apps as well, though just barely noticable. Only anything in conjuction with EVE lead to complete meltdown. But, again, Catalyst 8.1 have fixed this...

This is exactly my problem i think.
Every 15-40 minutes eve will completly freeze up i will hear my harddisk thrashing The music in the background continues and seems unaffected. though no new sound effects are being played. Cursor only gets 'stuck' for a second or two during the freeze After 1-5 minutes (depending on how long/how many times its happened) eve goes back to running normaly. This doesnt happen in other games
I have swapped a new PSU in (Brand new 600watt Xfinity ULTRA),
tried both a Radeon x800 and a Geforce 6200. Both have the same freezing (Both AGP 4x)
I have uninstalled my Soundblaster 24bit Live and removed the card from the machine. I removed my Belkin WiFi G card and replaced it with a trusted ethernet card (Those are the only two cards on PCI)
Memtest reports my memory is fine after running for over 30 hours
I'm questioning my Mainboard and/or CPU now... But i hope someone can just tell me to change a 1 to a 0 in some ini file and have it all magicly work out!

I am currently running Windows XP corp edition, with a nvidia 7800 GS (agp) and 1gig of ram.
the game runs fine in classic graphics, ok cool. But when the premium graphics are turned on, it runs for a while and at any random time, my screen will start artifacting and freeze up (random crazy pixels and colors). in most cases, the pc will force restart itself.
everyone tells me its overheating, but i have checked temperatures, cleaned my fans/case, and improved air flow....nothings working. the only improvement is that the pc does not self restart, it just locks up, making me do the restarting for it.....any ideas?

After taking a 3 month break from EvE (mainly due to novembers account probs which afflicted me -thankfully now sorted) I am having the same problem as FortunoLuciano, it seems the client plays for a while, (anywhere upto a few hours) then the graphics start to artifact, it seems to come in waves that last a couple of seconds (client freeze's screen artifacts) each of these freeze waves seem to add more and more surreal artifacts to the screen before eventually i have to restart the client. now, as a long time overclocker and general geek I know this is an indication of heat build up on a gfx card, however my card does not do this with any other game (not even crysis maxxed out). also my tempratures are well within the cards acceptable tolorances.
Win XP pro SP2 Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Intel quad Q6600 2 gigs XMS2 Asus EN8800GT -512mb client settings are as follows- 1680x1050 - fullscreen all settings maxxed - extreme where applicable 8xAA - 16AF (high quality mode set in gfx drivers) FPS -min 68 -max 102 avg- ??
I have the cpu clocked at 3.2ghz atm, altho i have liquid cooling, so the problem does not lie there. - (32c under full load) (i also tried playing eve at the cpu's stock settings and got the same results. The gfx card is not overclocked. I have reinstalled the client twice since my return to EvE yesterday. All drivers and windows updates are....upto date. classic content client works fine the problem just seems to afflict the new premium content.
just thought id let you know.....it may help

Edited by: Kilwch on 19/01/2008 09:37:31 MrFahrenheit, graphical artefacts are often caused by a graphic card overheat. You should check if the fan of your gfx card is running at its normal speed and if the heat sink is clean. Dust in the heat sink prevent the air from flowing correctly thtough the heatsink.
If all is ok, you need a software to check gfx card temp.

the pc is about 3 weeks old, my GPU idlles around 40c and hits upto 70c at full load, The card does not artifact in any other game as i have allready mentioned, I can play crysis maxxed out at 1680x1050 4xAA 8xAF at full (high) settings and I have no problems, also when playing crysis the card can go upto 80c and yet still no problems,
as I see it, if EvE is the only game that has graphical artifacts, and yet uses less raw power than more graphically demanding games I play, then it is not my GFX card.
i am currently monitoring temps using everest pro, smartdoctor (an monitoring app that came with the gfx card) and also a thermal probe (which i use on all my machines when overclocking)

That does not describe my errors, I am not recieving any error messages,
my problem may lie in the nvidia drivers and not the client itself, however I am seeing similar errors reported by other 8800 class card users.
white box flashing on screen when uncloaking, after using a stargate ect....
Its no great deal, i can happily play using the classic client without any errors, and at least im not getting BSOD like others here,
its just after a while playing the premium content (which runs exceptionally smoothly BTW) it looks like ive been dropped into a bucket of neon paint whilst tripping off my head on a ****tail of pshycadellic drugs and being towed nose first through a french 80's discotech.

Trinity suck. ccp solve u'r problem quickly or i close my 4 account. see u bb ;p
Gm: If your computer is completely crashing the fault is most likely with a driver or hardware on your computer, you'll need to check the memory dump file to know what caused it. Ye but crash only eve and the problem must be a new dll or something u have introduced with trinity. My pc rock solid and my xp is perfect .

Well i am having identical problem BUT with the Sapphire RADEON HD 3870 512MB DDR4 PCI-e
System is 5 days old and for setup i have
Win XP pro SP2 Abit IP35 pro Board runs @ 30 to 40 Degress Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 4x 2.40GHz S775 G0 Stepping with a ZEROtherm NV120 Nirvana Premium .Temp idle 22 max load 45-50 tested for a period of 48h cont. 2 Gig GEILL Black Dragon series DELL ULTRASHARP 3008WFP @ 2560 x 1600 2x Sapphire RADEON HD 3870 512MB DDR4 PCI-e in Crossfire .Temp idle 35 max load 55-60 tested for a period of 48h cont. All drivers up to date. (and SOUND is disabled in the MB)
CCP ? I am a beleiver that this problem has nothing to do with the hardware i am using all have been tested and stressed to max, included the memmory modules It is not Temp related for sure and it happens only under the premium options.
So CCP there MUST something in YOUR CODE that does not like certain hardware ?
The funny think is on my OLD rig with AMD XP 3000+ and x1600 WORKS FINE.

This problem only 'seems' to occur when I'm in Empire and, 'seemingly', only when I jump through gates or undock.
When I get this error EVE minimizes and I get this pop-up:
An unhandled win32 exception occurred in ExeFile.exe [2620]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time.
Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors'for more information.
I can alt-tab back into EVE but the graphics are all ****** and, although I can warp around, I can't activate modules and my PC locks up if I try to jump out of the system or dock.

I'm playing on Windows Vista Premium and am having serious problems. Every now and then, especially when warping, my client just closes out. Theres no lag, beep code, or any kind of problem, it's just gone. I get a message from windows saying it's not working and then I just log back in. Every now and then I get a Blue Screen of Death, a memory dump, and then my computer resets. I thought it was a hardware issue at first, but thinking back it happened one time before I changed my hardware, and others are having this same problem.
I noticed reducing my memory cache to low or none helps, and so does turning off eve voice chat, but it still doesn't stop it entirely. Please CCP, save meh ;-;.
P.S: I tried lots of different fixes, very little luck. ------------------------------------------------- Attention Devs, for every isk you send me one member of your family will be returned safely.

Well I have had bsod since the new client came out. Read the forum and went to several other boards. I've got it more or less under control. Two things, I used the oldest nvidia driver I could find, around 1.62, I think 1.58 would be better but could not find it. Second thing is, go into nvidia control panel and set slider to performance, away from quality, all the way to the left. It helped a lot. A last note, one tech board I went to, a guy was getting bsod, the first question they asked was "Do you have Eve installed?", the answer was yes. doh - this was not a game board, so it is a know issue.

Please do note as a temp fix till CCP fix the issue I have disabled the new Graphic content settings. The game works fine without the new Graphic. But this is not making me happy please CCP fix this issue...

I have problem with eve crashing, too.
It began after installing Visual Studio 08 and I think it may have something with .net 3.5 installed with VS08.
Reinstalling client didn't help.
There is no error message, client simply close him self (or crash), no windows error message, sometimes VS08 debugger pops out with lot of ASM code which I don't understand.
It worked fine with premium graphics before VS08 installed. Uninstalling VS08 is not an option.
