Nah. most likely it will be the one lying under the table, after have tried to claim Oveurs championahip belt in the "heavyweight drinking championship" from Fanfest 2006, by drinking him under the table. For some reason the devs love their ale
Hmm....FanFest Heavyweight drinking championship... NOW THAT seems to be a worthy competition!

Not really, Oveur wins and everyone else will be left incapacitated or worse.

Being a first time Fanfair attendee, I would not mind hints, suggestions or even advice. I am planning to come the weekend before the FF and see some of Iceland. I only lack two things; a place to stay that is not too expensive and things to do while waiting for the fair to start. (Drinking is for after the FF starts)
BTW I am a WOMEN IN EVE - so mark me on your list of women attending
So if you who live, work and play in Iceland all year long would help me with some good meaningful information to make this long awaited trip a great one I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

Someone was wondering what Duckling looks like, you can see a pic of the two of us here. Perhaps someone remembers us from last year ? And nahhh, I don't think we are a match to Oveur regarding bree drinking, I wish we were but I don't think we would stand a chance. He's called "The Bionic Liver" for a reason .

Gee thanks, Wrangler. Could you have been more patronising?
you can now bring your significant other, or as we call her, your better half to Iceland without her getting bored.
Still in denial that girls actually play EVE?

I notice that you now have added a Sisters of EVE Fanfest 2007 Access Pass. I have already purchased a EVE FanFest 2007 Access Pass for my spouse along with one for me back in May.
Am I able to trade one for the Sisters of Eve pass? - - - - -

You should be able to find a hotel that suits you through this website, the last entry in the EVE Fanfest 7007 FAQ should give you an idea of what you could do in Reykjavik and Iceland.

Hey Duckling I remember a little less than a month ago, you mentioned that the shirts would be restocked soon - I've still been checking daily and nothing any new news? I figured the store manager would be back from vacation by now, I was just a little curious on any updates. Would love to get my Caldari shirt before school but if I have to wait, I'll wait hehe.
Thanks for responding before, hope I can get some new info again too

Edited by: XD Andy on 30/08/2007 17:04:54 Question about the "Sisters of Eve" package, and the "Fanfest" itself in part.
I've finally persuaded my wife that Iceland is a really cool place to visit, and that October/November is definately one of the cooler times to go. Infact, we'll be coming the weekend before so we can do some tourist stuff before fanfest starts, so if there are any pre-fanfest gatherings going on, would love to meet people in advance.
We will be bringing our 6 month old (will be 8 month old) noob along for the trip, but unfortunately he's a little young to go out exploring on his own yet, so will need to tag along with one of us.
Are either of these events (or portions of them) amenable to bringing infants? Ideally my wife wants to do Sisters of Eve thing, but would need to know what she can an can't bring our son along to, and for those things she can't, would I be able to take him with me to fanfest?
Won't necessarily be using a push-chair, as we got a pod-carrier as well.
Ideally need to know ASAP as want to book the tickets before they run out !!!
Thanks
Andy

I will have to ask the powers that be about that, but it will probably be possible, I can't promise anything though. I should get an answer next week.

I will try to get some definite answers for you on this tomorrow. I don't think we would need a Fanfest pass for your son, but you should know that it can get a bit loud at times and that might not be good for him. I doubt it would be much of a problem, since you can always find some calm place though.
I don't think your wife can bring him on the jeep tour, maybe the swimming thing, but it's an outdoors facility in november so it might be a bit cold for him. I don't know the exact times for the sisters events, but as I understand them they're mainly going to take place during the day, the sister pass gives your wife access to the Fanfest after 18.00, so worrst case you can probably miss a bit of Fanfest. I'm not entirely sure on this though but I'll try to get better answers tomorrow.

Many thanks Wrangler. Will keep an eye on the thread for updates. Assuming it is OK for him to hitch a lift with me while my wife is doing out-doors type stuff, we are reliably told that he's cute as hell, so should go down a storm with the ladies attending the fenfest (if the precedent here is anything to go by). However I am acutely aware of how disruptive an 8 month old can be, so rest assured we don't intend to involve him where it may impact on the participation and enjoyment of others.
Besides, if I remember the brochure correctly, the Nordica has a baby-sitting service available. Just hope it's cheap, and runs late

Well, some auctions seems to be coming up at this years fanfest, which might caught the interests of the female attendants. Ofcource there aint no such things as females on the intarnet, but according to Eris Discordia, there will be at the fanfest, so I guess thats why the girlies are getting special "treatment"
(This is a J/K and the linked thread Its a J/K thread too, by the way! Well worth reading ALL the posts!!!! )

Originally by: CCP Eris Discordia All the girls at CCP have had power meetings at the coffee machine and set up a plan of action to get some fun stuff to happen at Fanfest for the women attending. Some of you may think no women will be at a game meet up but we expect to see a lot more of us this year. For one, all the female devs are attending. With CCP recruiting massively, we gained a lot of female devs in the last year.
Plans are contingent upon how many women EVE players are attending, so be sure to indicate in your registration that youÆre female. The more the merrier and the more activities we can plan in advance. If you know a few girls who play EVE, let them know that there will be a lot of other women at Fanfest and they will be made welcome by everyone, especially by all the ladies of CCP.
IÆll keep this thread updated and answer any questions, but itÆs too early to spoil or hint at what we are planning, but take my word for it, itÆs going to be fun. .

Edited by: Equipment Warehouse on 04/09/2007 22:31:54 what chance is there of being able to buy Oveur a drink in person?
If so, what will a pint be likely to cost at the Fanfest, so I know whether to bring my bank manager with me, or not?

XD Andy, regarding the spouse program. I would not recommend it for toddlers since the Blue Lagoon and the swimming pool are too cold for children at that age. Regarding the jeep tour, theoratically she could bring the child with her but I don't recommend it since there is a stop by a cave for an hour and she could not take the child with her there. I would recommend that she buys a ticket to the Fanfest so she can mingle with people there, there will not be an issue to bring the child with her to the Fanfest area. I can recommend other nice geothermic baths that are perfect for toddlers while you are here in Iceland, they are indoors and are heated extra during the weekends for their youngest visitors.
For the jeep tour, we don't recommend it for children under the age of 6. I see that I have to think of a daycare for next Fanfest. It's great to see how many are interested to bring their families along.

If you can drive a car you can rent one for a fairly good price, around 4000 isk. With it you can drive anywhere to do some sightseeing, otherwise there is www.re.is Go to winter and there is a list of trips near reykjavik to do around wintertime.
If you plan to relax there are plenty of nice places in reykjavik to have a coffee, something to eat and relax.
www.kringlan.is is the website for the shoppingmall if you¦d rather go shopping. The mainstreet Laugevegur is not bad either
Public transport is cheap and a way to do a circle around reykjavik and see a bit more of reykjavik without driving and staying warm.

D'oh
we already went ahead and bought a Sister's ticket for my wife. Didn't want to wait any longer incase they ran out.
Anyway, she's got her mind set on that now. Guess we'll sort out the logistics once we get out there and see what happens.
Thanks anyway, and yes ... if you can point us in the direction of those geothermic baths you mentioned, that would be great.
Daycare *would* be a fantastic idea from our purely selfish point of view, but how many families will be going together realistically. Are there perhaps any private companies in Iceland that offer child minding or baby sitting services that you would happen to know of?
Thanks again.

I would suggest that you call the hotel where you're staying and ask if they can either provide babysitting service or recommend someone who does, and get details from this service such as what age they accept, price, open hours etc.
