Originally by: Grimster I solo booked this one from Manchester UK, now because flights from there are only on a Monday and Friday I decided to make a week out of it, Monday 29th Oct - Monday 5th Nov. Flight was a piffling 180 quid return. Hotel another 241 quid at the cabin for the whole week (don't contact the hotel directly - they wanted about 80 quid a night when I did that) go through an online broker for a decent price.
Booked it THEN told the wife I was going to Iceland for a week.
Remember kids - forgiveness is much easier to earn than permission.
Well there is plenty of us will be there for the week (inc the riff raff from your alliance) so plenty of stuff to do. Lots of us in the cabin to. Otel.com was were we got ours, damn cheap if u ask me.

You're gonna be so cold!
Maybe not survival gear, but definately warm clothes, and preferably windproof ones. It's usually a lot closer to 0C than 44C...

Some updates that will soon make it to the EVE Fanfest 2007 page.
Some package prices were wrong, it's cheaper and not more expensive though, here are the correct ones: Denmark from 2800 DKK Sweden from 3600 SEK Norway from 3175 NOK
All travel packages include airfare and hotel, they do not include round-trip airport/hotel transfers.

What do you consider cold weather clothes? What¦s the temperature there when it is cold?
I already had problems finding a good winter coat in Holland, I bought one here instead. I suggest bringing fleece jackets and think of layering of clothes. Outside it can be windy and freezing but inside it will probably be very hot because heating is cheap here. Go for thick shoes and thick pants, no flimsey fabrics.
Add in additional costs for a cab to drive you around town depending on what hotel you are staying at and how close it is to the fanfest location.
Why is this signature pink?
It is a mystery

For those of you who get a trip with some extra days there's Reykjavik Excursions and Iceland Excursions if you want to go see some of Iceland. There's of course the main shopping street, which is about 15-20 min walk from Nordica. Excursions and buses to the city center can usually be booked at some hotels or online.

Lookin forward to it, bringing ma gf too. She's gonna hate it. But its the one thing I have asked for... ever
My plan of travel to the fanfest however is quite ingenious. I plan to make an entrance!
Right so. I am constructing a pod. Much similar to the pods in eve. With an intent to launch the pod from a gauss particle accelerator cannon. By my calculations this will get me to iceland frm london in 2.8 minutes. The pod has a new design which will shell the body against the gravitational forces.
To simplify
podRearth2 = acannonRe-m(re-m)2 ==> gRearth2 = [4*Pi2re-m/Tpod2] (re-m)2 gRearth2 = [4*Pi2/Tpod2] (60Rearth)3 ==> T2 = [4*Pi2/g](60)3Rearth ==> T = sqrt[4*Pi2/(10 m/s2)] (60)3(6.4 x 106 m)] = 2.34 x 106 s (1 day/86400 s) / ac-2/2*22 T = 2.80minutes
After evaluating millions of pieces of data in the blink of an eye, the Gamble-Tron 2000 says this will most probably work.
See you there!

My breeding program is complete. I have a 10" kangaroo with largish pouch at a mature enough stage to accomodate an aussi in such extreme conditions.
But... *bites pinky finger*...the drill rig which will deliver my kangaroo pod to Iceland is a week behind schedule. I will have to push the design paramaters beyond normal tolerances to meet the November deadline. Expect seismic disturbances throughout Asia.
My ECM skills are leet so don't try and stop me!

Marketing has informed me that "the sales are going tremendously well". There's still a lot of months left to book your package and Fanfest pass, but if you want to get the 'early bird special' which is a lower package price, you should order before May 31!

I am planning on booking my trip tomorrow. Will be having a whole week from 29 Oct to 5 Nov from Manchester, UK, based in a central hotel.
Looking forward to seeing some of the sites - no, not a drunken BandofDevs - but the Gullfoss, Thingvellir, etc. on the Golden Circle Excursion .

Are the Icelandair packages subject to early-bird special as well, or at least likely to be of limited availability?
As I am coming from New Zealand, I am planning a few weeks holiday around europe before the fanfest to make the most of the extraordinary cost getting over there. If the packages are likely to be quite limited, I will need to do a bit more planning to know which country Ill be flying from.
