Originally by: Mr Krosis I like some of the new features in 2.5, but I'm curious what formula you are using for the targeting time display?
It doesn't seem to be the "original" 10000/scanres/asinh(sigrad) formula, and it doesn't seem to be the newer one we reverse engineered either. It looks like it shows a targeting time that is faster than it should be, especially for larger size targets.
I've used following formula: (15882 -1804*Ln(SigRad))/(ScanRes*asinh(SigRad)). Can't remember where does it came from because it has been sticking in my "to do" list for quite a while. It gave me a good results so if you think it is wrong I need a report with more definite numbers.
Originally by: Sky Marshal EFT 2.5 has an annoying bug > Open a setup, go to an another software (or minimize EFT), then return to EFT.
EFT can not be used anymore, because the left click of the mouse can't interact (left column don't want add an item or expand a category, I can't delete a fitted item, etc...), and the taskbar remains grey (like EFT is totally frezzed).
Never had such behavior. What OS are you using? Also if you getting this all the time you can try to disable price queries because they are one of the few really new things in 2.5 and if you have this problem only with 2.5 then they could be the cause.
Originally by: Junrhod Lockwood Hello there, just installed the V2.5 and i've got a problem
with the same setup, and same character i do not have same results for cap
cap qty is the same (8208) cap consumption is the same on both setup BUT cap pick recharge is not.
Peak can recharge was changed in version 2.4.1 to 2.5*Cap_Capacity/Cap_Recharge.
Originally by: Chribba Just a friendly heads up Gripen. I think you should include the MD5 signature of the EXE and ZIP in your OP, I've been noticing users uploading repacks of EFT onto EVE-Files but with trojans in the EXE, I do my best to remove and block them per auto but there's still a risk of such packages ending up on other sites as well.
So just a suggestion to include the MD5 signatures on the EXE and ZIP (EVE-Files now display the ZIP/RAR signatures upon download).
I don't think that people who don't know basic rules of internet security and download something from random sources know what MD5 signature is or bother to check it. But thanks for your info - I've added a warning to the first page.
Originally by: Abye JPG is messy for images with few colors like screenshots of Windows apps. No chance for PNG ? Can't imagine that there aren't good libs for Delphi handling that.
Such quality is set intentionally to minimize file size. There are still people playing on dialup and setups isn't a game screenshot or photo to worry about quality.

Don't know if this has been brought up before, but isn't t he EM resistance for armor, and EXP resistance for shields still wrong? Will there be a new update to fix that, or is there another way for me to fix it.

GIFs serve better for screenshots of an application.
For your comparison:
JPEG
GIF
Some color information is lost, but the GIF is better at preserving a screenshot of text since it's a vector format. The text of the setup is really what matters anyway. Lastly, the GIF is only 48KB, the JPEG is 71KB. - Support fixing the UI|Suggest Jita fixes|Compact logs |

Your compression is horrid tbh, I can get a gif and jpg half that size with out less quality loss but you were semi right. A gif is better for this type of an application but a png is better then a gif here. Now an application like Eve a jpg is far better.

Just wanted to say thanks for such a great little app. I just got back to Eve and it can be a real hassle to even get a decent Rifter Ratting setup. Your program helped me overcome my incompetence, will be using it in the future :).
I've noticed there are a list of skills that affect every item's effiency, can you read, from within the program, exactly HOW a separate skill affects the item? It would be handy imo.

That was the JPG EFT generated.
The GIF was a quick and dirty paint version. But the fact remains that GIFs are better for pictures of applications. - Support fixing the UI|Suggest Jita fixes|Compact logs |

PNG is the best format for images with no complex areas, like screenshots of applications. An EFT window of my Rokh can take 101K in JPG, 98K with GIF, 73K with PNG (Irfanview without PNGOUT, with, it gives 70K).
As asked by others players, I wait for the new version, with the correction of the "minimized" bug and Trinity update ____
14/20 Revelations : Desyncs... 11/20 Trinity : BBSOD, Bugs, Desyncs, F*** Nerfs 10/20 1.1 : [...] + EXP shield nerf 07/20 ½ Not a single nerf + : What ?!?

I wish the autor had updated the resistances for armor EM and shield explosive. since atm it is displaying inaccurate numbers. If i knew exactly the format of the data files i'd modify it myself.

After chatting with a corpmate, who is a college math professor, he pointed out the DPS calculations of EFT were completely erroneous and pointed out the author of this handy program must be an idiot at math after we shared Abaddons setups.
Therefore I am wondering if anyone else noticed the DPS is not right and wonder what formula is used?
In any case you can convo "Yurito", he seems to know all about math. Send him the flames!

Not sure if its already been mentioned, but according to EFT 2.5 the ECCM Projector II requires 40 CPU but the actual fitting cost is 55 CPU.

Damage calculations aren't very complicated. Damage mod * ammo damage / RoF. For missiles you drop the damage mod... It isn't that hard to do the math yourself and see the numbers are the same.

Thanks Gripen for a swift release on this one:)
Having a few issues unfortunately.
#1 Someone mentioned it in an earlier post, any time the EFT window gets sent back, whether I'm checking the web for something or click over to a video, it stops working. The window comes back up but all buttons, fittings and whatnot do not react to mouse clicks at all. It acts as if its still minimized, and can only be quit through right clicking the task bar and quitting (or ending task through manager.) OS is Windows Vista, happens on two different computers.
#2 Every time I open up EFT, regardless of if I close it, end it, or leave it running, an extra EFT.exe process is running in the background and it's taking up usually a decent chunk of CPU. I'm not sure if this process is the thing that grabs the prices off the market or whatnot, but the only way to get rid of it is to end it directly. If I open multiple copies of EFT, then multiple processes stick around.
I can provide pics and whatnot if you need em...
Other then that, very happy with this release. Excellent job

I can't comment about Vista and it's process manager as I've never had a chance to test it but things you describe definitely does not sound right. EFT creates separate thread for price queries but it is created only when some prices are about to be updated and terminated once such update is finished. This is a thread within a program and not a separate process so it's impossible for it to keep running after EFT is closed.
I suggest you to do a virus check or search your PC for this "other" EFT.exe file.

is there any plan to upgrade the database to include faction ships/items? it'd be nice to see them added so that we can fit our cap ships with something better than T2 for calculations.

Uh, faction/officer modules and ships are all included already. Try the faction/complex/commander buttons at the very bottom of the fitting panel? _________________________
