EFT nolonger starts minimised, you have fixed that.
Unfortunatly the setups I created for the ships which changed in the 1.1 patch have gone missing. The Ship Browser window used to have a special section for 1.1 patch ships, all the setups which were in there are now missing. The .cfg files are in my setups folder, but when I browse in the ship selector window I do not have any Raptor setups. |

whenever i try to import my character with 2.5.1 it sets all of my skills to 0.
and 2.5 set my skills to 0 as well, yet 3 days ago it worked just fine.
when i went back to 2.4 just for S&G it gave me parsing errors
i redownloaded 2.5.1 and it still does the same thing.... set all my skills to 0
i don't think i am doing anything wrong...

That is because the Trinity 1.1 versions were completely separate ships for the program. If you have no setups for the "normal" version of a ship, simply rename the 1.1 .cfg file. Otherwise you'd have to copy the contents of the 1.1 .cfg file into the file for the respective "normal" ship; just make sure the last setup in that file has the correct number of blank lines at the end, so EFTs parser can find the first "new" setup. Or, you could open EFT 2.5 and 2.5.1 side by side, copy the 1.1 ship setups into the clipboard one by one and have 2.5.1 import them.
That said, if Gripen was using XML for the setups files, it might save a few troubles here and there.

And me too, cannot import skills anymore (api is checked, same api works in evemon). Deleting files and redownloading and starting over doesn't help. No errors are given either.

With /OldHints it works great (as expected). No more stupid hangs for a sec when I hovering module activation icons, but in this mode it does not show the required skills hint. Can You please fix this ASAP? (And make this mode primary, please?)
And in the love of god, WHEN we can expect importing skills from file? Why shall I close EFT every time I want to import new character? Can You at least scan /Characters directory for new characters at the time Character Editor window called? It will solve my problem.

You aren't it's just EVE. Try accessing http://api.eve-online.com/ from regular browser at the time of trouble, if it works, then look for problem in EFT/EVEmon/etc, if not - wait for the CCP to fix API back. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

evemon doesn't seem to have a problem.. so i think it is with eft. i was posting here so i could be sure i wasn't the only one (and doing something stupid) and possibly make someone aware of the issue

Then do what I did. I've never tried using API in EFT cause I have EVEmon runned 24/7 and after that API returning only "try again later" to EFT. I just made a simple script to translate EVEmon text-only characters to the EFT .chr format. ATM I'm working to make it available for public. Please wait a bit. -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

Same problem here - in EFT2.5.1 all my skills have set to zero.
Reverting to EFT2.4 gives an API parsing error.

Save Your character from EVEmon in a .txt format and upload to the simple form above. Get back converted character and save it to the /Characters folder of EFT. That way, You may also export Your planned characters. MUCH easier than sitting in EFT's Character Editor picking every single skill and adjusting to the expected level.
And yes, You must restart EFT to get Your exported characters to work (or better have it not running at the time of characters implantation). -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

The is a great tool which I've been using for many months. However, like some people before me, this 2.5.1 version is not importing my skills via the API :( All other tools which use the API are working just fine. |

Edited by: Lord Gale on 29/03/2008 16:44:50 When I unzipped it with the native WinXP decompressor thing, it had the EFT folder marked as 'Read-only'. This prevented me from importing my character's skills successfully, but EFT did *not* give me any indication of its failure to write out the character file.
After about 20 minutes, I figured out what was wrong, but...can we have some kind of error popup if that happens?
Much appreciated!
(Oh, and reading the last reply before mine: Right click the folder, properties, and untick the 'Read-only' box, restart EFT. Your character's skill will import successfully after that.)

Edit again: WTF, Windows keeps resetting the read-only option on the folder. I have no idea why.
That doesn't work :P I've been using EFT 2.4 for god knows how long with no troubles until ltoday and it has always been set to read only and the character update always worked. I came here, tried out 2.5 figuring the 2.4 had expired or something and get the same issue with or without read only but without the error message! Evemon went down earlier but it works now, it's just EFT is borked for me :) __________________________ Nice forum - I'll take it! |

Hi... Installed the latest version of EFT and it worked for me yesterday. For some reason today the character update API function does indeed result in all skills reset to zero. My guess is that something has changed on the CPP end and EFT does not process the file character correctly.
Since I've only had this one version and it did work, it's likely CCP is messing with the char data in some way that EFT can not contend with. I'm sure Gripen is working on it already

I'm sure he's looking into it, but EVEMon and the Eve Online Skillwatch for Vista Sidebar are working just fine, so seems to point to EFT itself. |

Bug report:
Explosive shield resists aren't calulated correctly.
Example: Drake, Ferox, and Rokh which all give 5% to shield resists per ship level.
This means that the base explosive shield resist at 50 % should jump to 50 + 50*0.25 = 62.5% at level 5. EFT only shows 60%.
The other three shield resists are calculated correctly.
