Anything will die if you're going to be that predictable with no support. - He had less than 10 support ships when he initially attacked. - We baited with only 1 dictor and some battleships. The other 8-10 dictors were spread out 2-3 jumps in different directions - The main pandemic support gang waited 6 jumps out - The pandemic gang alone had 5 dreads and 8 carriers. I think in total we had nearly 20 caps.
This kill would not have been possible as a spur of the moment kill. You have to know exactly where a motherhip will be and what he'll be doing in order to kill it. And for that to happen the mothership pilot has to be very predictable.
Great planning to get someone who has become too arrogant Good job Karsten

Quoted before *sniped*
I do not belive that less tribute to the MS killers is in order, you cant blame them cause the MS pilot did not do everything he could as to kill at least as many as he could. Exploiting enemies' mistakes still tribute to you.
Its like DDing a bunch of frigs and then loosing your titan. And i will have to agree with bob here. Espesialy with Evol. "Everyone who does not adapt dies". In our case, and since Rev2 with the newly introduced Desynk and MS nerfage you OUGHT
1.To have a second client with username and pass ready to resynk just in case. 2.Not to fly a solo MS without support (not cruisers and miners that is) nearby.

Edited by: Ilsea on 07/07/2007 07:07:23 Also, the MS pilot here is trying to have his cake and eat it to. He is playing it fast and loose with the facts trying to have it both ways. You claim to have been desync'd (which you undoubtedly were, the game is broke right now), but when you are desynced, your client and the server aren't reconciling their states. The server has you one place under one set of variables (the ones it is actually computing your demise with) and your client has you in some other location in some other state (a location and state with no value/ an illusory situation). In that circumstance, you won't know all these specific details about the battlefield.
Because of the server-client desync issue right now, everyone is throwing the term "desync" around and it sounds like only 10% or so know what it means. It isnt mere lag. In fact, it isnt indicative of lag at all (serverside computation lag that cripples fleet battles, network latency lag, or video lag - people don't even use the term lag specifically), people desync by themselves in space and have no lag of any kind yet remain desync'd.
You won't get your ship back just like no one else killed while in a desync'd state has or will, but the game is screwed right now. There isn't even good reason to undock. CCP needs to get on this or there is no reason to keep playing. |

according to the KM he had an officer Web. When you combine that with a NOS, It basically means that you can kill a dictor in under ten seconds. Doubt me? try it. Heavies will chew through the dictor before he can press the spam armor need button. 20 heavies, will literally 1 or 2 volley a webbed dictor. So Basically most of your dictors could have been fried within a very short 1-3 minute period. I know that it's very easy with a dictors only overview setting.
Secondly. Firepower. The Km has 4 dreads on it. Numbers as high as a dozen have been thrown around. actual please someone? A Mothership can transversal tank dreads EASILY if he's smart, and can smartbomb fighters like swiss cheese. You realistically need 20+ dreads to take down a non-NOS'd (cap'd out) mom. Did you have that?
anyways, it wont be re-imbursed, but I dont know how strong the actual kill is.
Ok lets work on a couple of things: Firstly: In Farscapes vid, you can tell he has a cap booster fitted onto his dictor, and that his max speed is about 7km/s or something. Officer webs, nos etc require the dictor to stay in range long enough for you to lock him, once the dictors start popping they are going to be divebombing instead of orbiting.
Secondly: Even if he had killed the dictors, any competant supercap killing force has back up dictors for the carriers to **** out, and can move the carriers in to bump anyway.
Really Vily you must be drunk or something, everyone knows why the mothership died, he was predictable enough that a trap was laid and worked. Do the same predictable things over and over, and you will die.
well, i haven't watched the video, but i will say the same. try it. dictors DIE, like flies. ESPECIALLY against an officer web.
as for backup dictors.... try it. slowboating pods getting murdered as they move 20km @ 150m/s. EVEN if you have backup dictors.
dont call me drunk. i have planned this type of **** for months and months and i am QUITE aware what it takes to pull it off
please sir, research what percentage that officer web is, and also its range. given no one had desynced, and i had no had to relog 3 times, i would still be in gang. what your not realizing is: 1. my flycatcher had 1900hp of shield 2. my flycatcher had a top speed of 13000m/s while in the gang 3. my flycatcher would still be going faster than t1 ogres that he had in cargo even webbed. 4. i had a cap booster and he had only 1 crappy named nos fitted. 5. i am farscape hw and i "suck at dieing" 6. we had enough caps to kill that mothership b4 the 2nd bubble had dropped
that mothership wasnt going anywhere even if the rest of our dictors had gotten popped. and oh yeah, i had dual bubble launchers fitted.

We began the campaign against BoB because our friend was banned for whistle blowing. -

its all just down theori Far, if u and the other 9 dictor pilots was so uberish that he couldnt kill u. With 1900hp ure sig should atleast be big enough. Its too bad he never had the chance to fight back properly...so we could have seen if he was able to kill off those dictors or not. without saying that its certain that he would have gotten out even he had the chance, but I find it as a ok chance if he playd his cards right and u failed. He had all the tools needed to take out the dictors which needed to put up bubbles under 20k of the ms. he just never had the chance , and I think a 30bill ship or whatever he putted into it atleast derserve the chance to not been decyncet.

i agree that it sucks he couldnt/didnt fight back more than he did. and it sucks even more that his gang didnt come in to fight us. i always love a good fight. but he really had no chance of living through that if we all hadnt lagged out. we just had way too much dps. we had waaay more capitals than showed up on the mail. most of us didnt even get to shoot him. if you notice in my movie, dissapointment relogged and still ended up near the top of the killmail. and in the time it took to drop him with what could actually lock him... i dont care what you guys say, you wernt there nor were you in gang with us. the enimies knew nothing of our fleet and i know what we had and that mothership had 0 chance of surviving it.
edit* ya know if ccp would stop with the adding new crap to the game and spend some time fixing the problems that are messing up the gameplay, we wouldnt have to argue if the kill was legit or not. ffs ccp plz pay attention here. nearly all of your customers growing impatient.

Worth pointing out I think that in order to lose motherships, you have to get motherships, getting motherships is no mean feat and it shows the strength of STK.
I remember when Helen lost his mothership to MC/0utbreak/Fatal, I was all "petition it man! hax0rs n stuff!" and Helen was very dignified about his loss.
I'll need to catch up Sku1ly and Helen and find out why you switched sides... when I took my break and stepped down it did seem as if everything was going the right way.... guess I didn't do as good a job as I had thought.

Lets face the facts...
1) 12 ships end up on the killmail, only four of our caps. There were many more caps there. Hell, look at the KM a Deimos ends up on the KM.
2) There were five times as many other ships that could have been firing on the Mom. That's a whole lot more DPS.
3) Say the pilot didn't desync worse than he did (I say worse cause he fighters/drones were out and attacking ships). He might have taken down 3-4 other ships. The DPS was just too great for him to do any more.
4) Say he did manage to kill 75% of the dictors there, until he can kill the very last one he can't get away. If he's focusing on the dictors he'd not doing anything about the DPS. If he focuses on lessening the DPS he's not getting out of the bubbles.
5) The claim that the pilot wouldn't log to fix a desync. Pointless. If you had 0 control of your ship, and you were in a bubble then relogging to fix the error wouldn't have been "dishonorable" since after all you weren't going anywhere you were in the bubble. Sure, you might have lost control of the fighters you had out, but given you had thousands of drones in your bay and the contention is its the dictors that were the problem you could have poped the dictors and gotten away.
6) Clearly a case of chest beating. The pilot was saying "I have a MOM and you don't so I'm going to gate camp with it, with a small support fleet and nobody has the sac to come fight me" Well, you put a juicy tasty target out in space and Snigg will come take a bite.

Even if the mothership was 100% perfectly fine regarding sync issues, assuming that both sides were fine then the interdictors would have had many capital remote repair modules supporting them. Judging from whats written here, it was dead as soon at it entered warp.

Edited by: Dark Shikari on 08/07/2007 06:24:06 What's unfortunate about all this desyncing is that its basically going to relegate motherships to sit at POSs delegating fighters.
People should be rewarded for risking their expensive ships, not desynced at the start of a battle.
If CCP doesn't deal with this soon there aren't going to be many alliances left to take part in any battles at all.
