Revelations 2.2 will be published at the end of August or the beginning of September and will include a number of enhancements and changes. Among the changes are some needed increases to ship and module stats.
Want to know what ships are getting boosted, or what is happening to Nosferatus? How about the changes made to POS batteries, wrecks or corpses? Find out in the new blog, More Balancing Changes for Revelations 2.2.

POS warfare is boring enough. The combination of a cyno jammer and improved POS guns will make invading a well defended system extremely unfun. It already takes a large battleship gang, a dedicated repping group and a lot of organisation to not die at well defended poses.
No one seems to think that killing endless modules and poses is fun, so why make it harder?

It seems rather absurd that the caldari carrier and MS get a CPU increase and yet the nid and the hel especially do not. After this increase the chimera which has the same med slots as a hel and 1 less high and low slot will have 25 more cpu im not against the caldari buff just irritated that it seems minmatar is to be ignored when there is clearly a problem and other ships in the same area are having those same problems fixed. Yes the nid can arm tank but with just 5 low slots its a very weak one especially when there are 6 mids begging to be fitted with a shield tank that unfortunately is far too cpu hungry.

I'm interested in the whole NOS on NPCs thing. Does this actually mean that NPCs will supply a steady stream of cap (however little it may be) when nossed, or will they still be dry (and stay dry) after a single cycle?
Also, if your cap is at 40% and that NPC frigate has 10 cap, will you drain only 6 with a small NOS, or the full 8?

He's wondering if it gets 11,000,000 Kg mass (-1,000,000 kg from current TQ mass) or 10,000,000 Kg (-2,000,000 kg). Needless to say, all the Deimos pilots are hoping for 10,000,000 Kg.

POS EW batteries badly needed this boost, they were hitting the 180 sec hardcap on locktimes on anything much smaller than a Carrier (and taking 150 or so seconds to lock said carrier, too). Large turret batteries were better balanced, as they were supposed to be shooting dreads/carriers, but cutting their locktime to 40 seconds or so on capitals isn't that bad (assuming I recall the locktime formula correctly).

Also I still don't understand why do you make Nos dependant on something which we can't see? We can't know at what level our opponents cap is, so why make nos dependant on the ammount of cap the opponent has?

Very nice changes, although I don't know why the Eris didn't receive some reconsideration. The ship is pretty much gimped for it's role with only 2 x mid slots, on top of that it's a pain to fit without having to result fit a co-processor, and paying out some cash for that pretty expensive damage control is a bit of a bother too.
But all in all, very nice changes.

The Damnations hold is nearly that of a Megathron. The Megathron is considerably more reliant on cap boosters.
Tell me, where is this justified? If the Damnation uses a Medium Secure Container, it can then fit even more in!

Now to the questionable things:

Pilgrim - Giving it more grid doesn't solve any of its problems. Its easier to fit a 2nd repper now but whats the point if you don't have the cap to run it. Please reconsider this and think about something else, I'm sure you can come up with something. Maybe less tank (pointless now that the cap is gone) and more EW (less PG, more CPU, more meds)?? out of all of the suggestions in the other thread about NOS and the pilgrim...
of course they choose the worse "solution" for the pilgrim. Why he doesn't make NOS sig-based is beyond me (and perhaps, make them use the "other" slot.. you know, some ships have 8 high slots (4 turret, 3 launcher.. 1 "spare").
This would be alot easier to adjust as needed...
Anyways, back to the change that is going to get pushed through regardless.. apart of the "Add powergrid to the pilgrim" solution, there was also a note to change the Role bonus from:
Quote: Role Bonus: 200-unit reduction in liquid ozone consumption for cynosural field generation and 50% reduction in cynosural field duration
to:
Quote: Role Bonus: 200-unit reduction in liquid ozone consumption for cynosural field generation and 75% reduction in Energy Emissions Capacitor Use

The columns across the top are increasing signature radius of the object being targeted.
POS Structure Targeting Times
Something the dev blog did not mention, is that currently on sisi faction pos structures have had their targeting times nerfed from +50/100% to +10/20%, so for example the best faction small turrets now have 300mm scan res instead of 500mm.

The Pilgrims a joke to fit anyway, its pathetically easy with Recon 5, this grid means nothing too it.
The problem with this ship is its primary weapon doesnt work how other ships primary weapons work.
Example: Arazu, Damps and Disruptors - Drawback on Arazu? Cap use easily negated by CPR's. Range and speed means tank is not vital.
Rapier, Webs and painters - Allows other BS to hit harder, keeps target at range, is generally out of harms way.
Falcon, Jammers - Completely bork any target from shooting you, if their jammed. Obviously, drones are an issue, as they are for the Arazu and Rapier, however the extreme range this ship operates at, renders it able to warp out.
Pilgrim, Nosferatu and Neutralizers, New drawback? Inflicts heavy capacitor drain on both its own and the target ship. Can fit dual rep tank, however, now it is forced to use a cap booster, if it is to operate within its own range. Drawbacks of flying a pilgrim? Once your in, your in and thats that. Its a committed fight with no range.
My faith in the development of the Pilgrim faulters at every dev blog currently, but I love the ship and I fail to see why it should be crippled for the greater good of EVE. I dont want it to turn into a 35km nano ship. I want it to work how it was first designed :/

You've pointed yourself that all cloaking recons (actually it applies to non-cloaking too) don't tank and operate from distance, supporting their gank by using their EW. Problem with Pilgrim is that it tries to hard on too many fronts.
Look at Falcon and how simple it is, jammers and lots of it. Pilgrim however has 3 different bonuses to support its things!! That is because fitting NOS/Neuts deprives this ship from fitting some damage dealing modules (be it lasers or missiles).
Maybe its time to get rid of the NOS bonus on Pilgrim (so that we actually have a Tracking Disrupting EW ship) and exchange it for something else? Maybe some web invulnerability (in a reasonable way) so that it could operate inside webrange without having to tank so much? It just a thought ----- Arbitrator - Life & Death |

The core problem of the pilgrim is that it is designed to work like a nosdomi, exept that it has some core difference which make it less powerful.
It has only half the range, half the dps, a weaker regeneration and far less base HP and cap.
And it cannot really fit for another setup unlike the dominix. Essentially all changes which made the nosdomi weaker and more balanced also nerfed the pilgrim. And since the pilgrim was from the start weaker than the nosdomi it gets hit harder by those.
Preref both the pilgrim and the nosdomi used ECM, which made both ships very powerful. Too powerful in both cases.
After the ECM changes the domi switched to damps which it could still efficiently use due to its higher operational range. The pilgrim either had to switch to TDs or a damp-ecm burst combo. While the domi was still too powerful the pilgrim was relatively balanced then. It could fulfill its role as solo hunter and was rather useless in gangs.
Now the nos changes should bring the dominix into a more balanced state, however they more or less destroy the pilgrim.
Originally by: CCP Fendahl Blockade runners have not been living up to their name as they take too long to align for warp. As a result, their agility modifier has been reduced (which makes them more agile than before). However, deep space transports have not been changed.

Regarding this, you might want to consider to give the crane, the caldari BR, 5 more grid. The BR really need a mwd and cloak to work properly and the crane is the only BR which can with max skills only fit a t1 MWD and has then 0 grid left.

YES! Finally a Command Ship that can be a "Command ship".
All those posts I made where appreantly heard because the original K-MKII was turning a Pretty ordinary Command ship into a Brawler and that was unacceptable. No one every complained about the Lack of Damage the Damnation could deal so I love the fact you took that information and applied it to a completely acceptable version.
Long range, Heavy Tank, Moderate Damage. I have no doubt people will try and PVP with it, but there are so many other ships much better and suited for PVP then the Damnation. Moster Tank, with Long range and Moderate Damage for it's shipclass.

Yeah, I realise my last sentance was a bit "Well DIAF" - reason being I'm fighting a losing battle with an engraving machine here at work.
Basically, I dont want to lose the tank on the Pilgrim, I enjoy dual repping it and its a great laugh. At the end of the day, its about enjoyment. I already run a cap booster with my Pilgrim, because when I over-nos someone, then I'm not getting enough to tank say, a Raven.
However I realise Nos needs fixing, and that it should affect the Amarrian Recons and faction ships as one and the same. Sadly, I dont think its been done right and I'm sure CCP could come up with a functional signature radius based system, that would make the Pilgrim something to be feared again.
Now, I'm not an Amarrian whiner, I dont doom say about Amarr - people that do/did need to learn how to fit them, because their some excellent pieces of hardware. I believe that this Nos fix is going to nerf the Pilgrim/Curse in the same way that the fitting bonus to Zealot isnt needed. (Unless they give us another turret... because then humping really will occur. <3)
On a completely selfish note, the Pilgrim is one of the most spectacular Piracy ships there is/was. While most of EVE dont Pirate, the Pilgrim comes into its own in solo and small engagements. This is where it should excell, too, in my opinion. Those that tell me "Oh, it shouldnt be a solopwnmobile." - It wasnt. Take a look at some of our losses, one very skilled Myrmidon pilot dropped two of our pilots who were both in Pilgrims. (Which we often laugh about) and once the Pilgrim is engaged, its there come hell or high water, short of ECM drones, WCS, other person lacking a point/MWD (Not advisable in the first place.)
On the other hand, all the other Recons can go "Oh crap, bail!" if things turn sour. (in most circumstances, anyway, I know neither of these scenarios is perfect.)
So why should the single close range Recon lose its primary weapon which keeps it alive, without some kind of compensation
I dont know how to change it with the current nos changes, but thats not my job. However its clear as day that 100mw of powergrid isnt going to make the slightest change, and forcing it to use neuts and tank, means its going to cap out. A nos boat shouldnt be 100% reliant on how many 800 charges it has. If I wanted to kill people in a Cap Boosting boat, I'd go for something that can do it - An Astarte/Absolution/Megathron etc.
Sorry to be so negative, generally this patch is okay/good, and I love what you've all done to the Deimos.
Cheers,
Izo Azlion.

Edited by: PAcifisti on 21/08/2007 14:19:21 Excuse me if I've misunderstood how the POS structure targeting and cycling system works, but this just feels pretty weird to me
Isn't there a HUGE flaw with the EW batteries? Their "original" (in rev 2) scan resolution of 10 mm gave idea that they were meant to be used against Capital ships... now, titans and motherships are immune to EW and dreads will go to Siege, leaving us with just carriers.
Evemon gives me a number of 30 sec for default target cycling speed. Doesn't this effectively mean that they won't have time to lock on anything, except some carriers before cycling targets? I havent used EW batteries in Rev 2 so I don't know exactly how it works but I can't think of anything else. How were they supposed to work in the first place with that scan res?
Rev 2.2 will give us Scan res of 50 to the EW battery that will almost clear this issue, now they will actually be able to lock on battleships before cycling to new target. But what happens if you use EW Battery with Caldari "large" tower like they are "supposed to be" used with?
-75% target cycling time, dropping us from 30 sec to 7.5s. Checking from the "POS structure Target Times" link it shows that it wont have time t lock to anything smaller than carrier (if even that) before cycling to new target? Is there something wrong here or did I misunderstand something badly? Yeah sure if you control them and order them on some certain ships they will work. Although that is hardly any solution to it as afaik there's a limited number of modules you can control at a time, and you can't possibly expect someone to be there controlling it 24/7.

I would ask what the vision of the devs for this ship is. As indicated by the blog it is no good gang ship, so its sole purpose is soloing.
So what can or should it do? It has only an effective range of 12k, so it needs to get close. It cannot avoid damage entirely there, so it has to tank dps. It has the slots & fitting for that, but not the cap. It needs a cap injector for that. With MWD, scram and web this leaves 1 slot for EW. Without a MWD it is very vulnerable to bubblecamps, without a web any target with a web of its own and an AB or MWD will be able to get out of the pilgrims nos/neut range, so IMO it needs both.
Vs battleships it will run into problems, both tankwise - 1 TD will not prevent that much damage - and capwise. It has only a relatively small cargohold. Vs BCs it will have serious tank problems, more than against BSs due to medium guns. Which leaves..cruisers. However, a rapier with longrange webs and a damp setup is far better in disabeling these, has enough dps to break cruiser tanks, is faster, is betetr vs smaller tragets *and* is fairly useful in gangs.
The problems of the pilgrim are not caused by its fitting, they are caused by its short range concept.
Originally by: Jurgen Cartis He's wondering if it gets 11,000,000 Kg mass (-1,000,000 kg from current TQ mass) or 10,000,000 Kg (-2,000,000 kg). Needless to say, all the Deimos pilots are hoping for 10,000,000 Kg.
11k on sisi. Very likely a typo in the dev blog.
Originally by: Izo Azlion The Damnations hold is nearly that of a Megathron. The Megathron is considerably more reliant on cap boosters.
Its the same with all t2 missile ships. Look at the cargohold of the nighthawk and cerb.
Agreed, what the Pilgrim needs is a bonus to energy emission systems cap usage per lvl so it can run neuts effectively. Also, possibly decrease cap recharge rate a bit. This way it can run the neuts to take down ships without having serious cap issues. IMO the pilgrim was never an mwd ship, it is meant to armor tank not speed tank, hence the no range bonus.

Excellent changes. It is good to see people being listened too.
Yes various other things like Caldari railships could still do with revisiting but concentrating just on the changes listed here they look very good indeed.
The only things I want to comment on are: HAM changes: It's a start but I am not convinced it is enough. At the least make them the same fitting as heavies. Flycatcher: I will have to play around with a fitting tool but this really doesn't sound like enough. Even fitting best named rather than T2 I could get no tank at all on if I fitted anything but rockets...

Those bonus' make it the lowest DPS CS there is. It'll definitely need 2-3 BCU and that will hurt the tank severely. -------------------------- Piwate Bunny Wuv

I keep saying that some sort of reduction to energy emissions systems cap usage per lvl would be fine. Something like 15% per lvl tbh because this ship had trouble running mods even with 3 T2 med NOS running before the nerf.

Glad to see Caldari caps get some loving, and the Deimos too.
A slightly random ship that I think needs a slight boost though is the Crane. Annoying that it, unlike (iirc) all of the other transports, is the only one that can't fit an MWD.

Edited by: Riley Craven on 21/08/2007 17:53:55 I'd like to specifically comment on the cargo size of the khanid ships.
In a way I have always felt that cargo sizes have been a bit silly. Why should amarr ships have the same cargo size as caldari ships when they dont have to hold any large amounts of ammo that we do. (mainly refering to BS)
Further the command ship SHOULD NOT have the same cargo room as a battleship... that is very skewed. All that will allow it to do is carry a crap load of cap boosters since medium missles arent even that heavy when compared to torps and cruise.
If anything if you are going to make those cargo room changes then you need to systematically nerf the cargo room in amarr ships to put them in line with what they need.

Thank you for listening to players' concerns about the Khanid ships. While I don't think these changes are perfect, I think the Damnation will be much better, and having turrets to fall back on is the right thing to do.
I still would have preferred slightly larger drone bays, mainly for the Sacrilege and Damnation, to help with their limited range while using HAMs, but all in all, this is MUCH better than what was originally proposed.
At least ONE good thing was announced today.

This comment illustrates perfectly something that's been bothering me lately. Many people seem to think that every ship (especially the one they fly) needs to be able to fit Every Module they want, Tech 2, with no sacrifice for PG or CPU modules or whatever.
I'm going to say it simply. No. If you want to fit a ship that well, with such awesome equipment, you have to have some sort of sacrifice. Either in lost slots (to boost your fitting capabilities) or in isk (to buy uber officer/whatever mods)
That is all.

Khanid MK2 - I approve of the cargo bay volume increases. If they are going to spam missiles, they need cargo bays to match. Thanks for restoring the Malediction's lock range too. I assume however, that the restored turret slots will be removed at some future time, once it is assumed those without missile skills have had time to cross-train? It would make no sense to have both options left open indefinitely.
Armageddon - More CPU, excellent. I may have reason to turn away from the Blasterthron again now.
Neutralizer powergrid - If I read correctly, it will be reduced to match that of nos? That makes sense to aid Amarr recon fitting I suppose, though as far as other setups are concerned, I did not see it being necessary.
Bloackade Runners - YES. The hauler that never feels like a carebear ship when I fly it.
Overall, a nice set of changes, good to see the community's concerns are being accommodated, even if some of these concessions are responses to quite spurious ones.

more I think about it the reason why the pilgrim is so troubled is the range it needs to work at. why not swap the nos bonus to the range bonus? all other recons work in the 24km+ range window the pilgrim is the only one that needs to go under 12km (webrange) to use its primary bonus (tracking disrupters are broken and need to be looked at)
or another option would be to change tracking disrupters to targeting disrupters (not my idea stole it from someone on SHC) in addition to the anti tracking, it would at anti missile aswell by changing the explosion velocity of missiles by the same amount it effects tracking. since there is no viable anti missile defence right now this would make sence and add another dimension to EW.

You know, the current situation with the Flycatcher on the test server is like as if in case of a Raven you could decide between fitting it with cruise missiles + tank or with torpedoes without tank. You can fit a raven with either weapon systems AND a tank. Not in case of a flycatcher. Regardless how much ISK you are willing to sink into it.
It is not a matter of whining about the PERFECT fit, it is a matter if the ship is viable to fit with the weapons that CCP intended it to be fitted.
Of course if CCP only intends the ship to be fitted with a rack of launchers + an MWD without anything else because tackling should be done by interceptors and interdictors are only supposed to drop a bubble and die/warp out then never mind me.

Here are changes to the pilgrim in order of importance that I think would make the pilgrim useful again:
1. Change the 20% nos/neut bonus to: 10% bonus to reduction in cap use for neutralizers, 10% increase in amount neutralized, and 10% increase in neutralizer range. The pilgrim can now stay out of web range and its tank will be easier to operate since neutralizers will use less cap. Maybe switch a few of the bonuses to 5% if it is too much.
2. Add an extra mid slot. This would help make up for the mid slot lost due to a cap booster and give the pilgrim the same amount of slots as a curse.
3. Increase the cargo capacity to permit additional cap booster charges. A reasonable increase would be nice but nothing over the top.
Even after the changes a curse will still have 2 additional high slots to play with and twice the range. The pilgrim will have an additional low slot to tank with and a cloak bonus so it can sneak around.

I see that you've made corpses, wrecks (and to an extent, jetcans) immaterial. Will this fix the bug where wrecks being tractored would sometimes catch on each other and stop moving as well? And if it does fix that bug, can you make Drones immaterial, as a way to make them stop humping each other once and for all? 1. Domi needs to be fixed to have 5% to all hybrids not just large. or 5% to armor rep.
2. Amarr need a frigat with Scanning bouns, its unfair that new players starting as amarr has to skill for a diffrent race or wait until they get cov up.
3. we need more prostuites drops in game.
4. a Chance of faction spawns in Exploration sites, all of em, just not the unknows that escaltes, some of the sites takes H to find, and should give something else back than a littel drop of stuff.
5. fix the unknowns in exploration, its impossible to know if its one of those crap spawns with npc, or a real unknown site.
those misc unknown should only show on the in bord scanner or be added as a new group.
6.A mentoring system that gives a reward for older players teaching new players, ofcurse should have mesures to stop abuse and mentor farming.
and it would give mentor items.
7. Faction spawns in missions.
8. Faction Npc carrier, Dread, Titan ships, to drop faction items for the same ships. Not only in lvl5, but in belts or Exploration sites as well.
9. Fix the Ratio between Sheild and armor tanks.
the sheild tanks are twice as strong, the armor tankers need a shorter rep time. lowerd to base 10sec.
10. Make Boosters allowed everywhere, to help with it getting used in the game.
11. more kick as short novells.
12. more events based on thees novells, we want role play.
13. Dont fix amarr anymore they are exremly strong, people just whine to boost there skills and ships into i win i win.
most people have the same res on the tank anyway, so it dont matter what dam you do.
14. Drone mods, guns and missiles have Dam mods, drones need em as well. and rigs, not only for Sentry drones.
15. Armor repair booster, like the sheild tanker has, theres way to mutch more mods to imporve sheild tanking. over armor.

Or maybe we ditch TDs altogether and use some different thing or maybe boost NOS some more on it?? Right now only Amarr ships seriously feel the wrath of TD (where all ships feel the sensor damps more or less equally). Gallente laugh at it as their setups always have a web while using blasters, so optimal isnt a problem and less transversal for the attacker to actually shrug off some damage. Minmatar are susceptible to tracking problems (if their target isn't also webbed/inside webrange) but less optimal doesnt actually hurt them.

I'm no funambulist but when it comes to balancing it seems that to make changes to the Deimos boosting its speed and mass and yet ignore the Vigilant seems like you've not fully thought it through.
Please if you make the speed/mass/fitting changes to the Deimos (which selfishly look good to me!) then please also consider that you're making the Vigilant into a fat, slow, expensive and now pretty much useless cousin with these changes.
Cheers.

I have to concur with Victor tbh.
The nos changes ( \o/ ) are a biggy and obviously effecting alot of players have been though through thoroughly, more over the affiliated faction ships, ashimu etc. being equally effected have been suitably adjusted.
What i cannot after the time that has gone into those ships changes is the demios. Granted it has been readjusted several times, but unlike the ammar ships you have no changes (has it actually been though of?) for the faction variation the vigilant. Ok they both have the same number of slots vs one mid/low, but the whole point of serpentis ships is their increased speed and agility over other races.
I can fly the demios, i own a vigilant. Before this patch is released i'm selling my vigilant. I appreciate the cell development structure but its always the tiny little details that make long term players/customers ask if it's worth it any more. Its taken eighteen months of patience while sp slowly accumulate to be able to pilot (and afford) it at decent levels to be told it wil be made obsolete in four weeks time, go ccp...

Is that a promise? Because I might buy it now and sell it for a lot more when it is tweaked in a week or so (my speculation). However, it's not a big deal, IMO... not all ships are required to be teh ubar. Being a non-Gallente (as are lots of others who play), we are used to having a significant number of ships in our lineups that suck and we just don't buy or use.

The increase in pg to the pilgrim is a step in the right direction since it now needs a cap booster however w/o an increase to cargohold it ain't worth a dime. Increase the cargohold to that of the proposed sacrilege, afterall boosters take up alot more space than missiles.
Also if the pilgrim isn't going to get some sort of bonus to reduce neutralizers cap cost than introduce a new skill, for example advanced energy emissions which would further reduce neutralizers cap cost by 5% - 7.5% per level. |

Nidhoggur is even worse off having less cpu then the Thanatos as well as less grid . With the Hel it's not much better as that has the same amount of cpu as a Nyx but less grid then the Thanatos . Neither the Thanatos nor the Nyx are intended as Shield tankers but they have the same/more cpu then their Minmatar counterparts while also having much more grid, making them also easier to armor tank. A nidhoggur has to compromise to have a similar fit to Thanatos as an armor tanker with remote armor repair ability, while a shield tanking nidhoggur has no hope of ever using shield transporters without using up several low-slots on Co-processors. At the same time whichever tank style you choose, they will allways be weaker then the tanks the specialists are capable of. Please CCP, pimp my Nid... My thoughts on Damps.

Not bad... but i guess thar pilgrim needs more fixes... i don't understand how encrease of grid can help. If the nos will be the changed that strange way curse and pilgrim requeres bonus to cap usage for neuts.

Edited by: Feng Schui on 24/08/2007 03:23:13 Ok... just got the ability to log onto TQ.
The pilgrim STILL doesn't have enough Powergrid to effectively fit a Medium Capacitor Booster.
I am currently at 1130/1187.50 grid (engineering 5), which means i have 57.5 powergrid left (Medium cap booster, best named, uses 135 powergrid (which is a COSMOS cap booster).
The modules that I have fitted:
1x T2 medium nosferatu 2x t2 medium energy neutralizers 1x t2 cov ops cloak
1x t2 warp disruptor 1x t2 stasis webifier 1x Y-T8 MicroWarpDrive 1x T2 Tracking Disruptor (Last medium slot is empty)
1x T2 Medium Armor Rep 2x T2 EANM's 1x T2 Damage Control 1x 800mm Rolled Tungsten Plate
==============================
Another issue is the cap booster charges. They (Cap Booster 800's), currently take up 32m3 space each. The Pilgrim only has a 315m3 cargo bay.
This means that you can only fit 9 into your hold, which will only last for one, maybe two fights, before you need to re-supply.
==============================
Solutions:
The Pilgrim will need another 100 Powergrid added. This will allow it to fit a medium cap booster, along with its needed tank.
As far as cargo capacity for the cap booster charges, if the Force Recon ships are meant to go out into enemy territory for any length of time, I would suggest boosting the cargo capacity to 960 (this will allow for 30 cap boosters).
If the Pilgrim is NOT meant to go into enemy territory, then I would suggest increasing the cargo capacity to 480 m3. This will allow you to fit 15 boosters into your cargo hold.
================================
Downfalls of the Pilgrim
Against an asteroid.. (worse case scenario.. you're not getting any cap, at all, from your opponent), you can only run 1 nos, 1 neut, warp disruptor, webber, tracking disruptor, and medium armor repper, for a total of 3.7 minutes (some fights can last ALOT longer than 4 minutes).
This is due to the amount of cap charges you have.. once they run out, you're capped out, as is the opponent, which you cannot NOS.
===========================
Warning
1. The higher cap skills you have, the less likely it is you are going to be able to drain NOS from your opponent.
2. The faster your Armor repairer repairs, your cap booster will not be able to keep up
3. If you have a Talisman implant set, your cap booster, again, will not be able to keep up to run them.
Congrats.. the Pilgrim is now not only useless for gang combat, it can't solo at all, keeping in mind that the only thing you can reliably engage are battlecruisers and above (most people will be able to warp out when the pilgrim uncloaks if they are in anything less.)
And its against battlecruisers and above, that we HAVE to be able to tank for a period of time.
The Beginning <-- crap quality, need to redo, sorry :( |

Without being (more) rude, you're moaning about:
a) Powergrid to fit a cap booster along with your 3 T2 Nos/neuts (use T1) and 800mm plate? Hmm...Perhaps you'd like enough grid to fit a Large booster and 1600mm plate too?
b) Cargospace to fit more than 9x800 cap booster charges... 800's are BATTLESHIP charges - or that is how they were intended. If replacing 7200 cap (About 5X the ships's natural capacitor) in a fight is not enough for you to kill someone then shame on you. You have to go home after the fight? Perhaps have anchored cans in enemy territory for resupply then you genious.
c) The ship being useless after NOS changes... Melodramatic Rubbish. People will still fly this ship and commit it to battle and they will win, cap stable or not. They are probably just better pilots than you that can adapt to changes rather than spitting their dummies out in protest.

Originally by: CCP Fendhal Finally the cargo capacities on the Khanid ships have been increased (so they have room for missiles) and the number of turret hardpoints have been increased back to normal levels (to ease the transition for pilots who have no missile skills):
Malediction: 135m3 (no change), turrets: 3 Vengeance: 210m3 (+75m3), turrets: 3 Anathema: 190m3 (no change), turrets: 2 Heretic: 380m3 (+80m3), turrets: 4 Sacrilege: 615m3 (+165m3), turrets: 4 Damnation: 645m3 cargo (+295m3), turrets: 4
That's all for this round of balancing changes.
may i comment on this change:
- a heavy missle has a volume of 0.03m¦
- a heavy assault missle has a vloume of 0.015m¦
- a medium sized hybrid charge has a volume of 0.025m¦
- the new damnation has a new cargohold of 645m¦
- a caldari vulture has a cargo hold of 700m¦
- both gallente command ships have a cargohold of 400m¦
my thoughts
why should a command ship be granted such an inormous advantage in cargo size enabling it to carry almost twice the number of capboostercharges or ammo a gallente ship can while the gallente ship depends by far more on capacitor booster charges due to its awful caprecharge/capacity?
the argument "(so they have room for missles)" is totally unreasonable. the room missles take is not sufficient to justify such an enourmous shift.
i suggest to reconsider the cargospace balance before releasing the patch.
i hate it running low on ammo or cap charges while receiving horendous amounts of damage in combat. caldari, amarr and to a lesser extend minmatar dont have this problem possesing all bigger cargo capacities. the lowest bc cargo capacity lies in the gallentean branch imo this shouldnt be the case since gallente have the second largest ammo volume ingame but the smallest of all cargoholds (exception is the amarr absolution with 350m¦ cargo, note lasers dont use ammo except the tII crystal versions which require reloading after sometime).

Useless, no. However not being useless does not translate in being usefull.
The pilgrim as it is now does not have the standing power to kill BSs or BCs. So..cruisers..great.
Exept I rather use a rapier for those targets. I can with it web and damp a target so it cannot attack me at all, it has enough dps to break a cruisers tank, it is faster and is even useful in gangs as well.
The pilgrim is the worst gang recon which exists, it is essentially a pure 1v1 ship (and if you now want to post any rubish denying that read the dev blog, it is written there as well that the pilgrim is no good in gangs). Exept in its current form it has no real advantage there. Which makes it alltogether very subpar compared to the other force recons.

Amarr OOOMPH!? WHEN?! cpu on the geddon is quite nice, khanid mk2 is nice too, but when will we get any boost for our standart ships?
i remember a devblog mentioning that amarr needs changes but what do we get?
Next time you post : " all race will get a boost..." just to calm them down? i know you get a lot of whine post and sometimes even cheese, but it would be just good to inform us. in testing and the drawingboard didnt change since i started playing the game.
it confuses me that things which are obvious to 80% of the player base arent obvious for the devs? and i am not talking about giving us i win mods.
i bet we will get "walking in stations" before we get a good balance in this game.
posting with alt thx

I agree that the pilgrim needs a cargohold increase. The current 315m3 hold is less than the pilgrims T1 varient which was adequate since it didn't need to use cap charges before this nos nerf. Now however with the nerf the ship becomes relient on boosters thus making it's current cargohold outdated and ineffectual. The grid increase for a cap booster is pointless without an increase to cargohold.
I like the idea of an extra skill that would further reduce neuts cap usage even if it's just by a small amount per level. This would help everyone adjust to using neuts but imo the pilgrim should get a special bonus to reduce cap usage.
On a side note I would like to ask ccp to consider implementing a skill point store simialar to the loyalty point store only difference is that you'd beable to trade your skill points around whenever something gets nerfed. Plus it'd be fun to fly a different races ship every 2nd day with max skills without having to be a 3yr old player

How do you admit to and fix CPU on the Caldari Capitals and not do the same for the Matari ones?
Why are we forced to armor tank ( less slots ) if we want to remote shield rep ( 1/2 of our bonus )? Not to mention the Hel which for the investment must shield tank ala a Wyvern but now has 175 less CPU??
Any reasonable answer would be appreciated

how do my drones help me surviving the onslaught of my enemy? no amout of dronesapce helps u keeping ur tank online while u get shot by the enemy. dont get me wrong but i just dont get why others should get the cargohold of an bs and gallente have to struggle with every m¦ of space they have.

Yes that "vision " had the Wyvern having 1 mid slot more than the Hel and 75 CPU more than Hel which made sense...so why now the Wyvern receives a 100 cpu bump ( totally called for ) and not the Hel ( 7 mids to 5 lows , clearly a shield tank ). Your response is appreciated but a bit obtuse without really answering why one shield tanking ship received a boost and not the other
Still looking for a reasonable answer

Originally by: Riley Craven Edited by: Riley Craven on 21/08/2007 17:53:55 I'd like to specifically comment on the cargo size of the khanid ships.
Well amarr ships need cap boosters to survive, you can't passivly armor tank mmmkay. So the new command ship needs a ****load of cap boosters AND missiles hence the large cargo bay, makes perfect sence.
So how about we turn this think around, why does caldari have so big cargo bays they dont need cap boosters?!?

Spent some time playing around with setups for curse/pilgrim and didnt bother roadtesting the pilgrim because its fkn useless please delete this ship from game so i dont have to look at its useless joke anymore. Curse can still solo a ratting BS its maybe 2 - 3 times harder to fly as cap management is cruical now which is at first i thought good because it will get rid of all the nub curse pilots and maybe make the curse much more challenging but still able to kill ratting BS and still have a purpose as its not really a fleet ship.. but alas after 3 ratting bs i cought in belts i gave up, now that nos is useless crap 3 ratters in a row fitting smartbombs to fill them extra utility slots that used to be used for nos ohh yay bye bye drones.. lol this game is a pile of horse #$@% its a double edged nerfbat for the poor old amarr recon pilots. i dont even wana go into the problems with cargo bay for cap boosters sheesh recon 5 and wasted SP's for the loss...
