Yeah this is really peeing me off now. Every 5-20 minutes I lose connection, and if I try to jump a stargate it doesn't do anything, and if I restard (which I did), I get stuck in this lag loop hole. This only started happening to me after the downtime.

Edited by: DaiTengu on 31/08/2007 07:34:30 I've been having the same issue all day. I'm dualboxing (two characters, different accounts), and I appear to have either packet loss, or a complete connection drop from time to time. I honestly don't know if it's on my end or not, earlier in the day I did have some packet loss while pinging google.com, but recently it's been fine and only Eve has been giving me issues.
This all started earlier today.

If you are having consistent disconnection issues, I would urge you to file a bug report on it.
Bug Reporting
Remember when bug reporting to include output from a logserver file, as well as including system specs, dxdiag and even what ISP you are with.
Additionally, I would suggest that if you are having connection issues to use PingPlotter against Tranquility's IP - 87.237.38.201, and report the results.

I submitted two bug reports on the issue already, when will I get a mail saying, at least we received it, and are looking into it. I submitterd two logs of the error, dxdiag, etc etc... -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Edited by: Ambro Senter on 31/08/2007 14:11:38 I'm not really sure how to use pingplotter or how to read from it but these are my results: http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/4838/pingplotterrz4.jpg
Then after a while it all goes haywire and I get packet loss on all rows. And sometimes it "stabilizes" back to the image i linked with 100% PL.
I haven't been able to use my trial account more than 2 days, if this keeps up, I'm not even gonna consider upgrading to a normal account which was my plan from the start. I give it 1 or 2 days more, after that. Bye bye.
Also, I submitted a bugreport with my Log Server details.

Beats me, all I know is, I can do everything like download stuff, play OTHER games online, surf websites, msn, etc etc just fine without any disconnections whatever, but when it comes to EVE, and AFTER the latest patch, I just gets disconnected.

Edited by: Odewad on 31/08/2007 17:41:32 I can recreate my crashes every time. Dual logged on one machine, two seperate accounts. In missions with my main, I can send in my alt to loot/salvage. As my alt is warping into the same room with my main, he crashes to desktop EVERY time. Also I can park my main outside a station and warp my alt to him and get the same crash.
I should note that this problem just started with 2.2.

Edited by: Aaron Mirrorsaver on 01/09/2007 00:46:28 background: I use a linksys router. My desktop connects directly to it with the r45 cable so a question of interruption of data is non existant. also I've been using the router for a couple of weeks, playing eve with my laptop wireless and its been fine.
Yesterday I disconnected the router, as I go through elimination... still same ploss on same servers. I then rebooted my gateway or some jazz after logging into my high speed on account on the web and it gave me this whole host of options. I tried again and still the same ploss, I even reset the modem with the reset button. But I had plugged it back into the router at this point. After the try without the router yielded the same ploss.
Today, I took out the router again and plugged once again straight into my adsl modem to my desktop, then I turned plugged out and back in the modem, so two things are now different with this try, the fact that I turned it plugged it out and back in AFTER i disconnected the router (didnt do that last time) and that the gateway has been rebooted and I am trying it on the adsl to desktop connection after the reboot.
The ploss is all gone. Do not know if it will come back, but I am hoping a DEV or someone else who knows about network stuff and wireless routers could tell me why my wireless would be working all the time, then get all this packetloss all of a sudden to eve servers, when to everything else it is fine.
its mind boggling.
edit: it continues, ping plotter showing no packetloss at all now( have it running) disconnected from server within 5 minutes.....I am officially screwed. No packetloss, no internet problems, just being disconnected... dial up stays connected woopie. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Well.. last night was wierd. I didn't disconnect at all. Although I was very close to doing it several times, you know, after jumping, the client just sits there with nothing happens, and just before it "should" disconnect me, my ship appears and same with the overview. Oh wait, I disconnect 1 time though, just when I entered a mission location with alot of bandits it disconnected. I logged in to see my ship nearly broken down but managed to warp away the last second.

Its almost impossible to ingage gangs because as soon as out gang jumps in half the guys get dc'ed and we get raped.

Edited by: Harleydavid on 02/09/2007 13:05:19 One admin telling us to report bugs is truly insufficiant, can we please get atleast a re-assurance that you are at least looking into the matter?
Please do not forget, we are PAYING for a service and that service is extremely lacking right now.
Also, don't forget that you are in competition with other companies such as Blizzard whose customer service (from my experience) is incredible.
Sorry to say, but if I cannot log into the game for a few more days I will expect to be compensated for my money spent on a service that I cannot use and will probably unsubcribe my two accounts and head back to WoW who charge once for 3 accounts!

I have been having this same problem also. I run multiple accounts and it was happening across all accounts. If I sat idle for more than a few minutes in station my connection would drop, it would also drop randomly throughout space. I think I have resolved this but will do further testing.
In my router I disabled UPNP, Gaming Mode(I think this is the problem), and multicast streams. So far I've been idle in station for 20 minutes with no disconnect. Before it was happending withing 2-5 minutes of being idle.
I will update later.....

I am glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing this. I have been playing the trial and the past 34-48 hours or so I get disconnected every 4 minutes. Though late last night I was able to play for a few hours without any problems...
This has to be something EVE side... either their servers or software related...

This is not a router problem i have acounts running on a "none wireless router", other accounts running on straight to modem connection. These DC'ing issues are server side, since the 2.2 patch and are affecting all our gameplay.
File a bug report.....can't you tell there is a bug from the mass of petitions concerning this very issue. For me, i enjoy PVP aspects of the game and when i can'T ingage for the fear of DC'ing on jumping in........well that makes for a horrible gaming experience.
I live in canada, never had this problem before, i have top of the line computer, extremely fast connection and never have i had this DC'ing thing in the past. I cleared my cache and looked for problems on my side, there are none.
So please fix this and compensate us for our loses.

Edited by: tre introv on 02/09/2007 20:25:01 I have been having these issues since the 2.2 patch and agree they could be server side. The fact that I just messed with my own router and seemingly resolved the issue makes me wonder if it's not a combination of the two.
Only thing I can come up with is in 2.2 they changed how the client communicates with the server and most routers do not like that. I have come across games/applications before that need routing rules put in place to work properly. It would not surprise me.
Anyways, I've had 2 of my accounts running for 2 hours now 1 in use the other idle and neither have been disconnected.
I'm in the US btw....

I spend alot of freetime playing eve, and since not being able to play I have spent alot of time, trouble shooting, eliminating, doing everything possible to eliminate causes on my end, I finally culminated all efforts with a complete format of the computer, the first thing which I installed after windows was eve, ran it, played 5 minutes disconnected constantly again.
So it leads me to believe your above quote is right, they may have changed some way in which the client receives or transmits data, OR they have changed somethong on their end, the way in which the server transmits or receives data in that it might be transmitting faster than the receiving end can handle for some of us...
With that, I would like the developers to put in the feature which most multiplayer games have which allow you to select your connection speed from a drop down list, to ensure when your client is communicating with the server, it is not receiving faster than it can handle and hence causing packetloss.
I'd like to know currently how eve handles or knows how fast your connection is, I mean everyones connection speed is different, so it can't be a one size fits all thing, is it auto - detecting your connection speed?
Eve must be using UDP, after I buy a new adsl modem which is the last thing i could think of from my end... then I wonder what will happen from then...
CCP a response would be nice. I have two accounts I will soon cancel, and I will just use endless trial accounts to test every once in a while until the connection is stable again. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.
