Having the same problem. It seems that if I am inactive for 4-5 mins I get booted. Playing from Canada.
I will not be keeping my account open. Nothing like laying a full set of probes for exploration, getting halfway through the scan and dropping. Reconnect 2 seconds later and your probes are gone

I still havent found a way to fix this problem. i can usually play betwen 20 and 40 minutes and then it looses connection to the server.
and when it happens mirc does a disconnect too with this msg. [10053] software caused connection abort. Im dont know if its related, but it sure is abnnoying that i keep loosing connection to eve.

try turning off reconnect on disconnect in your internet connection web gui, for your adsl/cable modem whatever. see if you are losing you link, and it just reconnecting before you know what happens.
also do you get a long check status?

THIS GAME HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR FAR TOO LONG!!!!!!
I cannot stay connected for more than 5 minutes at a time and running two accounts is impossible.
This game does not work.
It has been broken since the 2nd last patch.
With the amount of views and replies, how can this go on un-noticed.

I have only been playing, well, trying to play, for two days now. Was able to create a character and all and of course there was no problem processing my 19.95 payment :)
No problems surfing the net or playing anything else...just losing connection to Eve after less than 5 mins...i can't even find the pirate on the tutorial to try out my weaponry on. I have created a logfile and will send it in, but if this persists I guess it only cost me 20 bucks to find out it was a bad idea.

Guess its not just me. Can't even complete a cycle mining in my hulk before DC'd.
Its random, sometimes 6 hours no probs then it starts, all 3 machines, zero packet loss on my connection.
It started last Saturday for me and oh look, I disconnected again just in the time it took to type this.
We had problems last year around the north-pole-drunk-nerd-fest time and I'm guessing it won't be fixed until the new year again. Time to take the holidays off of Eve?

Well...as I said in my earlier post, looks like a great game, IF I could play! I called CCP North America/White Wolf and of course when you select the option 7 for Eve support you get a message of "phone support not offered".
Left a message with the receptionist and my callback info...don't really expect to hear back. I wonder if the folks at the office in North America are able to play with no issues? I live about 30 minutes south from where they are located.
If I am unable to connect and stay on by Sunday evening I will be expecting a full refund of my money for signing up for this lemon.
Have tried 3 different machines as well as wireless, cable, and DSL connections from 3 different providers and get the same connection issues!
How about some feedback CCP?!?!?!?!?

I noticed I can auto-pilot 42 jumps with no disconnects until I reach my destination (any) and then will be disconnected after being idle for a few minutes.
Whats the difference between mining in a hulk and being disconnected after a few minutes or approaching a stargate in a slow hauler for a few minutes?
CCP fix this ffs, your ruining the game with your apathy.

I crash when I am traveling. It happens more frequently when Im on Autopilot. This has been going on for a month or two now and its getting on my nerves. Not only do I get disconnected from the game but usually I can't connect for a long period of time afterwords.

After many weeks of the same problem I canceled my account. I am deeply disappointed from the company and perhaps more people should take similar action as mine....its a disgrace to give your money and receive ignorance...That said I abandon the game...too bad cause I really enjoyed it as long as it lasted..

lost 2 domis now to disconnects like descriped above. thinking about taking a longer brake if it doesn't change soon. best thing is, if you petition your loss they just tell you "it wasn't a server problem, we cant replace your loss" etc. funny that several other people in the same system lose connection at the same time, people from different countrys using different internet providers...no, it isnt a problem at ccp's side, for sure...

This is still happening. I can have a day running 2 accounts no problem, but then the next day it will be disconnecting every couple of minutes. I have sent a petition to ccp and they say the circumstacnes are not reproduceable. So ******* what? Come sit here and tell me it doesnt happen.
I urge people to keep complaining about this.
I thought it may be a specific area or company that is suffering from this. However, looking at some of your posts, we seem to be all over the world and using different ISP's.
However, for the record, i am using :

My ISP say that its not a problem at their end. I run tracert regularly, and it completes ok. I've ran the logserver and sent it with my petition to ccp who can not do anything about it.
Maybe its time i cancelled my accounts. The game is unplayable.
Even a reply from CCP in this thread saying they are looking into it would have been nice. They have chose not to.

temp solution, and it works. I've been downloading anime from bittorrent for the last couple of days, and i find that when ever i have bittorrent on, i don't get dropped. It works cuz i made 10 round trips to jita and i still didn't get dropped. and when i exit bittorent (cuz i finish the downloads) i get dropped again. but someone else try it, and download stuff (anime and ****) using bittorent, and see does it work for you. hehe so happy i found out it works for me.

Yes, I did find something strangely similar...perhaps using an internet radio station might have a similar effect? (EVE Radio plug...saved my sanity when EVE went down!)
