OK! I spoke with a GM in rookie chat. I've told him about that disconnection problem we're having. And all he said was ''Go on the tech forum, you'll find the answer there.'' And I told him I did, and that NO-ONE came to help us yet. I've told him that in front of 2900 persons, I definitly hope it will hit a string. Keep hope guys.

I was so pleased after the new patch today, i got on TQ two times in a row without any problems, i thought my prayers were answered!
but No. Of course not. After being thrown off by the unexpected (2nd) server shutdown today (yes im still drifting in space somewhere), i cant logon. I get the same old TQ OK xxx players, but it wont go any further.
I've tried the command prompt method and the vista method. and changed by eve.exe shortcut - no joy.
So it's just the same as it was before for me, a real pain to get on (usually takes 1hr of constant trying), but now it's probably worse.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH someone from ccp reply to our problems!!
Does no-one care?

I'd just like to report that I've now have no disconnects since last night. THANKS CCP!!! this game is now awesome. I'll report back if problems reoccur. I cleared the cache and the new patch together seemed to work.
Hurray.

I'm getting disconnected every 5 minutes. Also, since the patch, I've been getting some weird C++ error messages..
This has been happening for a few months for me.. but sometimes I can stay connected the entire day w/o problems.

In the interest of problem solving, what the problem is NOT caused by:
ISP (poeple are reporting this from way too many, cable AND DSL) Operating System (reported problems with 2000, XP, and Vista) Network Card (I've personally tried 3 different ones) Chipset (I've tried 2 different MoBos) Graphics Card (I've tried both ATIs and nVidias)
This problem is not our hardware's or our ISP's fault CCP, if the problem is client side...it's in YOUR code, not our setups.

I was going to make a full reinstall to see if it would help.
I get the same error while downloading the full client from eve-online.com! (stops downloading after 3-4 minutes)
Since I've able to run other downloads for 24 hours straight (after the patch) I hereby confirm what was allready said.
The problem is on CCP's side.

Btw something to add:
When I was online, I used to be able to stay online by engaging in activities ALL the time (this means manually turning shield booster on/off every 4 seconds etc)
As long as I waited more than 15 seconds without doing anything, the game froze up, and all it told me was that 'Connection Lost'.
This is getting ridiculous, CCP. Atleast acklowledge the problem. Tell us you're working on it, or even that you have no idea what it is.
Anything to give us hope!

I'm seriously done. One of my accounts expires shortly. Other two are paid up for a while but will have to give running of the corp over to second command. Who btw is having same issue on one of his accounts (same machine, go figure).
I reinstalled eve AGAIN and bluescreen, and drops before I can even log in. Start eve, crashes, start eve, crashes. I have WIC, DOOM3, Homeworld2, MechWarrior and the Crysis demo running while I type this.
CCP, you still think its my drivers? You still think its not your prob?
From now on, I'm only going to pay for games monthly. Then I can quit paying when they say "screw you, we don't need your money".

I've had this problem seemingly since the deployment of the lastest "patch", I can't bloody explore because everytime I'm scanning my connection drops, the only way it seems that I can stay connected is to keep moving, randomly clicking in space. Anything but making my ship move in different directions will lead me to a disconnect, and its bloody well annoying to have to stay randomly clicking space for 400 seconds while a scan finishes. This problem is not on my side either, no problems before the "patch", afterwards I have this issue, and I've changed nothing, no new hardware, software, hell I didn't even change my bloody winamp playlist. I'm hoping to see some sort of resolution soon, because this is ridiculous.

Edited by: Mortegat Taer on 08/11/2007 23:17:44 Well usually i don't post at all on forums but rigth now the only time i can play is by night, wich is, usually, hard to do. All i can tell is that annoying disconnection bug is what i can say the worst i ever saw and it keeps on going back from 2.2 patch. I'm sure that it's all well and nice to say it's our ISP that face problems to connect to EVE but face the facts. You can see a crap load of ISP's from different places all having the same problems, disconnecting randomly with no apparent reasons. It's definatly a problem between the two, thing is that a minority of us face that problem and that minority is not as important as to finish their flicking expansion. I'm sorry but nice graphics from a game that doesn't work at all for me is like having no games at all. Simple mathematics you do 0 (representing the game) mutliplied by 1 (representing the expansion) gives 0 no matter how big and nice the 1 is ... I'm trough this game i'll train till my account renewal comes up and i'm gone. Thanks CCP but no thanks. If you ever come up with a solution tell me and i might reconsider but that's not what i call great customer's services.

Edited by: Armadios on 09/11/2007 03:41:46 I have a D-Link DI-624 Rev D1 with Wireless Radio enabled however I play Eve over a wired connection, not wireless. Anyway, I think I found my problem, after looking at This thread, I changed my router's MTU from 1500 and 1300 and haven't had a disconnect in 2 hours. Previous to changing my MTU, I had 2 disconnects within a 5 minutes period.
I think I also know another way of fixing the problem. If I keep my router's MTU to 1500 but disable the Wireless Radio, I'm pretty sure I won't have any disconnections.
I wonder if somehow, with a MTU of 1500 and Wireless Radio enabled, the packets my router sends get fragmented. From the thread I linked, it appears that the CCP server(proxy?) might be blocking/dropping fragmented packets.
Thats my findings, so maybe, just maybe the problem lies between our routers and CCP's proxy?

OK, now it's not connecting again. so it's nothing to do with the patch or the cache thing.
I have noticed that this does not happen when tranquillity has about 17000 people on it or LESS. At least that's the only time I've been able to connect recently.
Groan... please sort it out ccp. or at least post a message in this thread to say 'WE HEAR YOU PAYING CUSTOMERS, WE'RE SORTING IT OUT!!!' or something similar. I'm going to bump this every time i can't connect. (well every 10th time or this thread will be 1000's long in no time).

If you don't know how to change it, you probably should ask someone who knows unless you're confident you can rollback any changes you make.
You also forgot to specify which type of router you have.
I'll give you a description for D-Link.

An appropriate MTU value is important to the proper operation of any network. To change the MTU on a DI series D-Link router, simply follow the steps below:
1. Connect to your router's admin interface. Usually 192.168.0.1. The default username is "admin" (without the quotes) and the default password is blank.
2. Click on the WAN button from the left vertical menu.
3. Find the "MTU" towards the bottom, enter your desired MTU value (usually 1500, or 1492 for PPPoE) in the text field, and click Apply. The router will restart to apply the new settings.
If you don't have a router, there's a way to configure it in XP by using the Registry Editor. I won't provide the steps because 1) I haven't tried it. 2) Its dangerous for the neophyte. 3) If know what you're doing, you probably know how to find this information. (there's an article for PPP connections on the Microsoft Knowlegde base)
I'm glad to see, it worked for someone else.
CCP anything worth adding to my contribution? It would be nice to see a Dev or ISD reply after more than 5-10 pages of complete silence.

It never occurred to me that it might be a network problem. Although I have cured Eve related issues (losing my entire internet connection, which is not the case now) by wiring my computer directly to the modem, bypassing my router. I didn't think this could be the problem this time since my network is rock solid in every other case. I'll try lowering my MTU or disabling my wireless radio as additional trouble shooting steps. FINALLY some new ideas.

Thanks for the info. It explained why I couldn't find the MTU option (I'm using TELIA, who dont use PPPoE. For TELIA, there is no option of modifying the MTU value)
Ah well, guess I have to wait until the DEVS (!!!) bring me a proper solution.
Thanks tho

Ok so is this something to keep agent runners from going afk?
in station its fine: flying around its ok: soon as I accept a mission it goes to crap: in mission its crap: log on another account and PVP its fine:
Is it me being paranoid or is it just affecting missions? Maybe high traffic areas?
