Just MAYBE in the providers fight against BOT NETWORKS EVE Online hit the critical mass of clients online connected and traffic produced to fall under the "NERF THAT PACKAGE TRAFFIC" rule.
Maybe CCP should talk to service providers to clear out this misinterpretation. Especially now, that trinity is about to hit the server, the traffic will increase (until everybody has there new shiny models).
BTW, if I call my ISP, what do I have to ask for? You are torturing my EVE packages/ traffic. Please leave them alone? As ping seems to be OK, and the tracerts and PingPlotters show no missing connections or package losses.
This is, btw, the reason that I think that some new "eve package filtering" is going on somewhere. Like the filtering some provider do with known P2P networks.
If anyone has some updates, please let us know.

Just as an update:
I got bored this weekend (without being able to play eve)
So I did:
Cleared all caches ... result: didn't solve the problem. Reinstalled eve ... result : didn't solve the problem. Updated all bios, driver ... result : didn't solve the problem. Reinstalled Windows with everything new and shiny ... result : didn't solve the problem. Installed Linux and the new client ... result : didn't solve the problem.
So I can assume, the problem is NOT on my side. And yes, I envy all the 34k ppl that can log on and enjoy eve while I hardly manage to keep connection long enough to change a skill.

what can i say same problem since last patch dc every 5-10 min no problems in my usual game / app / internet so i'm sure my machine and net is ok reinstalled client - didn;t help i'd like ccp to remove last patch till they solve problem / if they decide to do anything with it - i don;t see any confirmation they work on this - what is IMO a shame and lack of respect to customer /

I spoke to CCP few minutes ago , ask them about problem , some lady told me then I should send petition , I sent few and no respond , so please CCP fix that , few more problems like this one and some people will start to think about new online game , i`ll for sure , can’t start game last 3 days and spoke to internet provider NTL, they are ok and people from other counters have this same problem , so its CCP problem for sure

I called NTL after a 20 minute wait and their tech support guys were helpful they tried everything they could think of and tested the lines and they could find no faults so the problem isn't with ntl

OK, a Senior technician just called me back.
Obviously NTL Ireland had the same problem with "The Game, that shall not be named" (WoW) in the last month and the fixed that.
He said that that there is no package filtering going on in NTL. But he will look into that problem and contact CCP if there problem is not on NTL's side.
Maybe it is a carrier that has some problems. Well they will find out. So far it is sit and wait for us.
Can we, maybe, get an update from the CCP Network guys? Thank you!

dang, fair play to you sho! I don't think the problem is with NTL myself. by the way, how did you manage to get to talk to a senior tech? I've tried that before and could only get as far as the "unplug your modem and plug it back in" line.
And yea, some comment from CCP would be very much appreciated. It's not like this is a "OMGCCPJ00SUXOR!!!!111!!eleven1!1", people are doing their best to try figure out the situation so some CCP input would go a long way.

Maybe we should send mails to [email protected], maybe they don’t know how many people have this problem, I still don’t have respond for my petition , so they probably all went to school , lessons “how to help your customer”, let send mails to support.

I've already sent in mails, including one with a number of traceroutes gathered from different people. Petitions are still sitting there open with no response.
It might be a good idea to email support. If you do, include a traceroute, be polite and include a link to this thread. Maybe have a common subject line like "Regular DC's, I'm another one" or something.

Another thought just occured to me (they don't happen very often...).
A lot of people only just started having this problem last week. In another thread someone mentioned a Windows Security Update last week, so I did a bit of snooping.
There were 3 Windows updates on 13th November (someone mentioned that's when their Eve fun went down the drain). One of these was an update to the MS Malware removal software, one was to do with DNS stuff for Windows Servers and the last was

I have no idea if this would effect Eve communications, only the devs will know that.
My own problems didn't start until the 15th, not the 13th. But an explanation for this could be the fact that I didn't turn off my machine until Wednesday (14th) night. My Windows update settings are set to download automatically, but not install until reboot. So maybe I got hit with the update on the 15th.
Why only some peeps are having this issue could be down to the fact they're lax with their security updates, or that there are some Windows based servers with some ISP's that for whatever reason have an issue with this new update or something.
Meh, gotta stop playing Sherlock Holmes. Probally only confusin the situation even more.

First thing I did when it happened to me was to file a bug report which was then closed within an hour telling me to file a petition instead... still no response from the petition.
I guess the "Known issue" response is better than the total silence up to now, but meh, personally I would have expected that at this stage at least a comment would be made in this thread. Would like to know at least if its an issue in the pipe or whatnot.
Anyway, tired from all my issue hunting exploits over the past few days. Gonna wait a while and see if we get any responce on the issue and if not, gonna start poking. With a pointy stick.

If this isn't solved with in 48 hours. I'll be considering a cash refund letter to the company, for god sakes. It worked FINE for all of 30 hours, then BLAME..it falls apart.

Any news from NTL users ,any respond from CCP ? , I sent 4 petitions including STUCK , with no respond , sent few mail do support , few to Community Manager , they even didn’t open my mail , i don’t have confirmation , we should do something with that if there will be no reaction from customer (players) they will do this same every time ................... guys let’s do something send 1000 mails to them , don’t know what else ....any ideas ?

Very disappointed with the level of communication. It only takes a few minutes for someone to post some info on the issue. Hell, people in this thread have been proactive in trying to solve the problem and suggesting possible reasons for it.
Canceling my next subscription (due in a week or so) until this is sorted and gonna start looking into how to get my cash back for the power of two deal last week 
Problems I can handle, they happen. Being ignored, however, is not acceptable

Iam NTL user since 2005 and I never had problem with Eve.I have 2 more alts and I was running them all over Eve until 13th of November...Since than Eve crashing every 1-2 min.So I can not play longer than 1-2 min.
I rang to CCp also and lady told me that she can not put me through Technician Support but she said she can't do this and she also mentioned petition's.I have sent 3 petition from every alt I have, and I also sent mail to CCP baypassing EVE procedure.Still no response from them.
I dont think personaly this is NTL fault.If NTL wouldn't be able to provide good connection I would have disconnect problem before but as I said everything started (in my case) 13.11.07.
I still pay money for my 3 alts and I'm still looseing aprox 500mil ISk a day cos Iam miner and I still can not play EVE ! And what CCp is doing now by ignoring us is just disgraceful!!!

Update to my situation....they unstuck me from Jita..told me it was a busy sector and to avoid it for a few hours. No problem, I did...
I log in today..go to Jita because I have some 500k items sitting there I wanted to equip on my Badger before I did some low sec runs..I figure an extra 1000 Shield Points would be helpful...STUCK AGAIN..and of course, no one cares from the GM staff. because the last GM Staff I saw and tried to get help from, was busy talking about doing Cybersex with players.

I got the Connection Lost problem as well. I have it in connection with Random Eve crashes and a C++ Runtime Error. Since I installed the C++ Runtime Library Redistributional from MS the Crash happend less often and one time he made a big mistake. He wrote a dump.
So I did a analysis of the dump and could see that the python25.dll causes the crash. The funny thing ist that it tried to write into the memory at adress 0000000. This of cause caused a Access Violation and caused the crashe of the exe. I allready send the dump with a brief description of the symptoms and the steps I allready took to solve the problem to CCP but I got no reaction since. I posted this Monday morning the 19.11.07. Steps I allready did was analysing a network trace. What I could see is that the server stops to send TCP confirmation packages. This causes the Client to resent his package. This goes on and on until the server transmitts the error message you get by HTTP.
I excluded winsock, the IP stack, my router, my provider, my drivers, my hardware, AV Software etc. Every bloody thing a IT Support professional could thing of, but I still have the problem. Some of you mentioned to have this problem since the last Eve Patch. So I guess they messed something up in relation to the python25.dll
Lets hope they read my post at least and have a look at the dump. From my side it is quite clear a problem in theire responsibilty and not ours in terms of hardware, provider or network issues.

Hi,
just a short uptade. As they are obviously incabable of getting theire software right I started playing around to get the environment right.
First thing: I replaced the python25.dll by one from python portable. If I start EVE now I get a message that the Process Breakpoint adler32 could not be found in python25.dll This is no real suprise. Seems that they rely on a certain version of this file. Funny thing: adler32 sounds german and means eagle32. Wired name for a function call.
Next I had a brief look into my Eventlog. I could see application Erros (ID 1000 in Application log) not only caused by python25.dll (that was proofed by dump to be a NULL_POINTER_REFERENCE) but aswell caused by MSVCR71.dll. This DLL belongs to the .NET Framework from MS. As I use Vista I have the .NET Framework 3.0 allready installed. 2.0 could be enabled by Programms and Features. From its number (71) this DLL should belong to .NET Framework 1.1 what is ancient. I downloaded the Package from MS and installed it.... of course no improvement.
This caused some suspicion so I checked if they rearly use the just freshly installed MSVCR71.dll. Of cause they do not! Instead they use the file from Side-by-Side. Side-by-Side is a Windows integrated System that allows applications to use older DLL versions as they are on the system right now. This files are located in c:\windows\winsxs (Vista) if someone wants to have a look at. EvE seems to follow again an unusual Way as it provides some kind of its own Side-by-Side folder.... ever wondered whats \EVE\bin\Microsoft.VC80.CRT is for? :-)
Seemed like another dead end at this stage. Even if I could locate the exact DLL (Process Monitor) that they are calling I doubt that replacing it with another one would help very much if they invoke ancient dlls anyway.
So I tried Process Explorer to get a close look into the running exe file. I was not sure at this stage what I am looking for but I found a list of params that EVE understands: /root= /bin= /lib= /verbose /noverbose /splash /nosplash /console /noconsole /jessica /aflock= /pyoptimize= /end
What the hell is /jessica for a param???? Anyway... /pyoptimize= sounded fairly like something related to python. So I tried to set it to /pyoptimize=1 No Success.... Just as a matter of interest... if you start EvE via shortcut it uses \EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe /nosplash /noconsole anyway to start.
You certainly will ask why I am writing all this stuff without having a solution at hand. Here are the two anseres: 1. I want you all to start testing and playing around with Eve. If they dont support us, it seems that it is up to us to get either eve running or get a refund for not delivered service. I am myself have just a trial account. So for me there is no money involved, but the few hours I could play made me love EvE. Of cause they get money only if they start to provide support. Just fixing this problem is not enough for me because they certainly manage to "patch" EvE to hell a second time. Its descrasefull that there is no Answer AT ALL!! Aehm... and the second Reason: 2. I just want to proof them that I am capable and willing to have a deep, deep look into their software and revieling things they probably dont like.
So what I need from you is: 1. Every Dump that is related to this problem 2. Does installing the C++ Runtime Librarys from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displaylang=en causes the Runtime Error to happen less often in your environment as well?

No, the https://bugs.eve-online.com Link is used specifically for reporting bugs you find within EVE.
Please take a look at this website also http://www.eve-bh.net as it will explain how to write a good Bug Report for us to take a look at. Please add all your findings and we will certainly take a look into this.
I must also mention that although you are trying to help us locate this bug it is against the EULA to modify the game client in anyway so please ensure you are not attempting this.

I am not threatening anyone, if you read what I posted I was simply informing him of the EULA to ensure the nice guy dosent get in trouble. If you are experiencing this issue also then I urge you to take a look at our website http://www.eve-bh.net and file a bug report as soon as possible for us to take a look at.

The Bug Report is filed. It became pretty massive so give them some time to work through all of it. I would have ben great if there where a response to this threat earlier on, but for whatever reason it wasnt. I concurre to say that this bad customer handling, but keep in mind that the Neerds sitting behind the development machines ususaly does not crawl the Forum for any signs of trouble. I have no Idear what went wrong on theire site to get aware of this problem earlier and take corrective meassures, but I am willing to give the support a fair chance to fix it.
As I know how hard it is to work under mounting pressure I offered them every support I can give on this Issue.
Thanks Sandin for your support, but I dont feel threatened by Sabaoth. However I agree that the game is unplayable.
