At this time, there are three threads at this forum and three or four at the german one on the disco-problem caused by the router in Frankfurt.. Would be good to know where CCP will post it's News about it..
@gm: By the way, whats the status atm? Do you already have a response from Lvl 3? How long will this Problem go on? Because even though youre not responsible for it, Eve is rendered kinda unplayable for a lot of players in Europe..

Some guy in the german forum hinted that he has some insider information that this is REALLY some epeen/$$$ battle between Telekom and Level3, for which we have to suffer now. The connections from the 'broken' router to other carriers are fine, just the one to Level3 (and to two others with whom telekom has the same situation) is faulty. If this is really the case, CCP should definitely do something, and if it is just terminating cooperation with Level3.

At least here (Southern Germany, ISP T-Online) the disconnects seem to have stopped a few hours ago. Maybe the complaints finally got through.

Amazing. I actually intentionally closed my client for the first time in like a week ;)
Let's hope it is really gone. My pingplot still looks far from optimal, but at least there are no more 100% packet loss periods.

As remarkable as this seems to me, it suggests that CCP not only had a chat with their network providers but also fixed something very bad in their own proxy layer. I'm amazed, but credit where credit is due, eh? Gratz, CCP, for doing whatever you did to achieve what looks like a perfect connectivity day. We all hope it stays that way.
It would be nice, too, to hear something about what was done. You know, like "We put Thor, our house Viking, on a plane to Germany with his quaint iron hammer, and after he had a heart to heart talk with some of the ISP executives there and worked his Viking ways on them, the German router problem was resolved within minutes. We also threw the guy responsible for screwing up the proxy layer out an upper story window and fired him on his way down. Hey! He was in perfect health when we let him go! We don't have tall buildings, so he survived, but with his legs telescoped up to his armpits he has other things to worry about now than proxy servers. That didn't fix the problem, of course, but once we had a couple of competent people look at it, it was quickly resolved."
I think Iceland should bring back some of the more effective medieval forms of punishment such as beheading, breaking on the wheel, burning at the stake and public whipping. Nothing would imbue the devs with a sense of purpose, urgency and mission critical more effectively than a few heads on pikes outside the CCP office the morning after a bad programming mistake. Burning the people responsible for the boot.ini fiasco at the stake would probably go a long way to ensuring that nothing like that ever happens again.

Things remain exceptionally good here since the 16th. I have had no disconnects at all and the www.coldfront.net graphs have shown no massive disconnects that I can see.

Same here i still have this disconnect after a while, i tried everything, sometime i can log other i cant, when i log 5 minute later i get disconnected....
Could be my ISP or CCp im quite not sure yet, but every test i made are looking good. Ping plotter and every other, only thing is wireshark wich is showing me 95% of poacket loss when logged....

I got the same. Server is unknown or I'm being disconnected. I've tried everything changing port, reinstaling eve, turning off any other aplications but nothing helps. My broadband is ok, cause everything works fine. Signal to server is ok, around 38ms. I wrote petition already, after that i send them all files they needed to verify my connection and computer settings, and after that i got response "change port to 3724". Grrr.. first thing i did was to check all FAQ's.
Problem is with connection but i don't know who's fault is it. CCP or some internet provider on the way.
P.S. - Btw I'm from Ireland.

Yeah, got the same issue. As well as many other players. All after the last patch. CCP seems to be in denial.

Are you using NTL? A lot of Eve users in Ireland are having problems with them. We've asked CCP to contact them but nothing has happened. There are some workarounds though that can help you.

It's impoossible for me to log more than two accounts on. If CCP don't want me to pay for more than two then they can reimburse me for the others that I have because this is getting out of hand.
I've reinstalled Windows, I've reinstalled EVE and I'm able to get on and stay on with two accounts but the moment I add a third I get dc'd.
Look CCP if you really don't want me to pay you reimburse me. I'm fed up with you ignoring this problem and I want my money back!!! I'm a Goon Titan alt, don't tell anyone. |

I have "a lot of isk" so to speak sitting in the corp hanger in an offlined moon mining pos. I have not been able to fuel it, the tower is offline. I have not been able to extract the minerals, or even run another production cycle.
Why?
Because routing is shotty between my ISP and CCPs servers. I have been getting 85-100% packetloss at the llnw hops 1-2 hops from ccp for a month now.
Some might say, oh, just get some corpies to take care of it. I'm the only freighter pilot in my corp. It would take approx 268 hauls in fitted Indies to move the mins.
I'm tired of this. With all due respect to CCP this is a wonderful product. BUT FOR GODS SAKES TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT WITH YOUR NETWORK SERVICE PROVIDER!!
Me and my corpies (35 members) will be terminating our subscriptions and moving onto wow or something. We are tired of this crap CCP. We shouldn't have to pay $20 a month to afford a proxy service in order to play; I'm already paying $60 a month for internet access.

Let me teach you a simple lesson in economics. It's not in CCP's best interest to terminate their contract with their, obviously, horrendously worthless ISP because it's better for a provider to get money from many and provide to few than to only get money from the few they are providing to. Therefor, as long as CCP get paid, they will not terminate their contract and will not help people. I have sent a petition demanding refunds for the characters I am unable to log on.
Some people believe that CCP's responsibility is not to ensure the servers are online or working but that they are to do their best to ensure that we can play. If they can't and the server is up for a hour a month then CCP are still doing their best and therefor we need not complain. Does this idea also count for their employer whose job isn't to pay them but to do his best to pay his employees? Or what about car manufacturers? Whose responsibility is it when the petrol tank explodes because they 'did their best' to manufacture a good quality car?
Unfortunately CCP take advise from people who like to be scammed and are, basically, scamming many of us because reading the forums it seems there're hundreds, maybe thousands, of people who can't log on and CCP ignore them and blame ISP's and everyone but themselves. Many of the problems experienced by the people on these forums are tracable to the 'upgrade' of the EvE proxy server and the many faulty patches.
It's easier for CCP to blame ISP's and people's PC's and software rather than their own server, ISP and software while there're a lot less WoW players experiencing these problems, eventhough WoW has over six million subscribers. Why doesn't WoW suffer from these horrendous problems? Maybe because their ISP is a decent company, maybe Blizzard is a decent company, maybe their software is better coded and maybe it's a combination of all three factors. Do I care? No I don't because we, the consumers, have the right to get the service we pay for and if it's not provided we have the right to a refund so the company providing the service suffers financially and, maybe, goes bankrupt as a warning to others.
I am not demanding this yet however if CCP refuse to help and blame my ISP, PC or are unable to help me I will demand a refund and take my money elsewhere. Six accounts may not be a lot but as the server population rises and the patches become 'grander' our problems increase as well and I don't think attempting to log a character on for an hour and failing while two others are online is a very sound way if doing business. It obviously is to CCP but I doubt the Icelandic, the British and the European governments would agree. I'm a Goon Titan alt, don't tell anyone. |

what are the ways? I got mine working on thursday , it lasted 3 days and now its gone again.

TBH i feel pretty sad for those who all have connection problems really i do.
But with all respect you guys can wright over 1000 pages of it but it is not CCP`s fold.
Most of my connection problems has to do with "fast wright on or off" or wrong graphic card drivers,( try older ones ), to high CPU voltage in BIOS. Ones my ISP forget to send me the right modem for my Internet connection after changing to a higher bandwitch. Now i have the good modem and all problem is solved.
Yes ones or twices in sa week i lost connection well dont forget that Internet is made by humans.

This. Lost a polycarb crow and a rigged torp raven to this problem. Everything that needs loading or refreshing in game (systems/menu's/stations) takes forever to do so, during which time it either disconnects or leaves me hangning and vulnerable. Great! Just before the tournament.

I had a massive packetloss problem a couple of days ago - it's back, and worse. Getting disconnects etc. Someone else is probably suffering, so bump ...
and pingplotter.
Wish I had searched for "llnw.net" and "level3.net" in the first place :) This time around, it's been going on for hmm 6 hours that I'm aware of.

I haven't been having many disconnect problems except when nodes were dying after the patch last week.
However I changed internet connection yesterday (different house) and after DT today I've disconnected once about every 5 minutes. Other alliance members are having the same problem. --------------------------------------

Just started having disconnects after DT today. Evemon keeps saying tranquility disconnected also. Struggling to access eve-o as well so lets cut out the BS about drivers and stuff shall we. CCP you have a problem and it needs curing NOW. My friend down the road cant even get a connection and a lot of our alliance are having random disconnects. Are you going to look into this soon or keep your heads buried in the snow?

Tiscali, Nildram and Pipex are all having problems (they now all use the same network).
Since Friday at noon they seem to have a massive network problem as 80% of all data packets are not getting through their networks, this means disconnects from EvE and page load problems on websites (difficult to spot on websites as they will re-issue the request a few times, eve does not).
No ETA on the fix, but knowing Tiscali it wont be until after Easter.
I am resigned to logging back in every 60s and not leaving the station.
