Edited by: Zanpt on 13/02/2008 16:52:47 Near Houston, TX, USA. I have two broadband feeds. One reaches CCP via llnew.net, which sucks rocks, and the other via Level3. Pingplotter, though, seems to show that the problem, when it is not in llnw.net, is at the last one or two nodes, .199 and .200, which appear to be CCP nodes.
Since I can't play with incessant disconnects and since all my modules are invisible in my main char when undocked, making all his ships just big shuttles, I am idling six accounts until they clear these things up.

Originally by: Leandro Salazar Seriously guys, you need to call T-Online. They actually just told me that they have no other reports of this and that their own measurement determined everything is fine.
Well, that's what help desks tell each customer: "All of our other customers *don't* experience this problem, so this must be a fault on your side." I wouldn't give too much credit to that statement. After all, if they ackknowledge having a problem, they might be (legally) forced to compensate their customers/fix the problem. So, first resort is always "there's no problem".
My provider (1&1) even refused to open a ticket, because "your internet connection appears to work, you haven't had any disconnections from our net". Which is true, of course, but doesn't help me with our problem.

Anyone know who to fix this as its driving us insane i lost two ships to this last night. Currently cant even get out of station still sat in my pod soon as i go to market it loses connection or any other window open for that matter.

3 accounts, all from Northern Mississippi. I'm having some nasty problems as well, disconnects every 2-3 hours if I run only one account, but disconnects every 10 minutes if I run more than one.

Edited by: Aridan on 13/02/2008 18:42:58 Edited by: Aridan on 13/02/2008 18:42:28 the connection is mostly only 10-20 secs lost, sometimes it came back before the client reached the timeout value of xx seconds, so the client continue to work after the CL
plz give us a higher timeout, or a managable timeout!
a 20-30 sec not responding client is better than a complete connection lost

From doing basic diagnostics, it appears that the same faulty 'switch' in london that caused all the desync problems 7 months ago is the culprit.
That faulty switch in London left players online playing the game for upto 10 minutes even tho they were not actually in the game.
Many people filed reimbursement petitions, myself included.
CCP denied the desync/disconnect problem, until well after the fact.
Which means many lost billions, including myself. All due to CCP refusing to acknowledge a problem.
I am sure you all have heard CCP eventually talk about desync.
If they admit to the problem after the fact, why wont they reimburse those who suffered a problem they wouldn't admit to at the time?
not nice.
This time around, I have lost less than 50m, no big deal... but it's the principle of the thing.
I am in EST tz and have been disconnected from EVE about 9 times now, I can browse UK websites with no problem, it's just the client, evemon and eveoffline can not find tranquility.
I am writing this letter while tranq is down. Odd don't you think? Shouldn't this website be down as well?

(translated) Quote of a reply to a service ticket from DTAG. (sorry for any misspellings, im not a native english speacker)
Between Level3 and DTAG are 4 existing peering points with Frankfurt as the biggest with a bandwith of 10 GBit/s. The others in Hamburg, Berlin and Duesseldorf are much smaller and not able to handel all the traffic if the peering point in Frankfurt is malfunctioning.
It looks like the problem is situated at the line between Level3 and DTAG, the technicans are looking into it, but dont know why the packet loss is occuring. It looks like too much traffic incomming from Level3 which locks down f-ea5.f.de.net.dtag.de, so all connections get lost in such a situation.
Level3 and DTAG are looking into this matter to find out, whats the real cause of the problem is.

I'm sitting in southern germany too, connected through Versatel (AS8881), and *didn't* have any problems connecting to EVE recently. Trace from here goes through Tiscali instead of L3 though.

I keep disconnecting aswell. I am from southern Germany and my ISP is T-Online (DSL, Broadband). This happens regardless from what computer i am using (iMac, MacBook, regular PC) and I also noticed that EVEmon tells me that the Tranquility Server is offline whenever my client looses its connection. (other sites can be accessed as usual during that period)

Just saw this thread, interesting to see that others have that too, thought it's something wrong with my pc, although didn't have that till few weeks/days. Disconnects every 5-30 minutes. Provider 1&1/GMX (DSL), location Frankfurt/Germany and like some stated above, the i-net connection does not close, it even works fine with other games, only on eve i get that frequent disconnects.

Then I start using openvpn and everything went great, no diconnects,no unknow etc. But since yestarday the problem is back again. I dont know if CCP made some changes http://myeve.eve-online.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=1784&tid=1 but maybe this could be the reason

Got the same problems with the D. Telekom.
I think we as the users can't do anything against the disconnects.. maybe you can change the provider, but i think it would be better if our providers solve the connection problems ;-) a lot of people with those disconnects are routed through the level3 servers in london, aswell as a WoW Realmpool.. they have the same problems since last week.

Hello there,
i found this on the T-online Service forums

https://www.t-home.de/SCMS_PK_service_themen_foren.page;sid=9s8qnRm9prcqnl4Jj1AgBTi4QJvRbhi4f_kW-Lk724zzagmeBog=?itemLocator=foren&headerSelection=1

Translation into english ( sry no native english speaker ( and with help of google translation ) ):
Not the nodes, the problem is in the whole Peerings to Level 3. We have gotten an response on our forwarding:
| The situation is known. We are working with our Peering Partner to find an solution. | The reason of the malfunction is that Level 3 is trying to send more IP Traffic | over the peering as the current capacity between this to networks allows it. | The negotiations on the enlargement of the capacity are on going at the moment, | we expect that this is avaiable in the near future.
Although this "near future" is spoken: An elimination of the difficulties in the next few days, we face the Fact that negotiations are ongoing, very unlikely.

Besides these times I get regularly disconnected from EvE after 1-30 minutes.
