A few things that would be useful
ISSUE: It wastes so much space FIX: Move the capacity bar up into the layout icon bar, filter can go up there as well or where index currently is now. Remove the index label. Or capacity down the bottom and filter up the top
Also, as it has been suggested no doubt. Remove different settings for different environment for wrecks, in space cargo hold etc. Allow the minimization of the value bar. Make the value bar one line instead of two.
ISSUE: Placement of item hanger icon, at the moment in my UI item hanger looks to be part of my ship hangar. FIX: PUSH it left more
ISSUE: POS guns FIX: Give them a sub tree, and have a settings option so players can hide it all together. Same goes for everything else that can be inside a pos.
ISSUE: Drag and drop. It changes to highlighted folder way to fast. And really changing to it doesn't help anyway. FIX: Up to you.
ISSUE: something FIX: Could we get highlight of objects within usable range? wrecks sma's cha's etc. |

Oh one more thing.
Just put our active ship in the ship hangar part, and highlight it. And if a ship doesn't have anything but a cargo hold don't have a sub tree with none in it..... Or for that matter don't include drone bays with 0 capacity.
Make that two. |

Issue: New UI system
Fix: If ur set on having this, allow players the option to use the old system.
This new system really is not a "One size fits all" U know, old dogs new tricks and it really does not work for all styles of game play. A seperate ship hanger is also a plus, without multiple clicks each and every time u enter a station. |

Something to fix on the inventory system...
PROBLEM : The filter at the top right corner of the window. : Text is erased when switching from items / ships / cargo / drone bay .
FIX : Don't erase the text when switching between them, make it auto search as you switch. : Or you could add a refresh button next to it and it will populate the item / ship area as you need it. |

when you have multiple can open in space (salvageing for example). they all open up onto 1 screen and the loot all button loots all curently open cans at once. ( with the exception of narcotics). or that all cans display seprately and you can chose to close em then the loot all button auto loots every open can. |

Issue: Looting Wrecks in Space. I open a wreck or container and it opens the UI Monster Window. When I hit the "Loot All" button the focus of the UI swaps back to the ship cargo hold view, then it Stays Open.
Solution: Opening a container or wreck should open up in a single simple (Non-Monster UI) window and hitting the Loot All Button should then just loot and close said extra window. This is a separate function and window from the UI Monster Window. If I want/need the UI Monster Window open I'll hit the Open Cargo button.
Reasoning - When I do Cleanup on PVE missions I don't need extra windows on my screen. Currently I have to have the UI Monster Window positioned at or near the center of my screen so I can get to the "Loot All" button quickly.
I just did an Extravaganza mission, zomg get this Monster Window out of my screen!! open wreck, loot all, close Monster UI window open wreck, loot all, close Monster UI window open wreck, loot all, close Monster UI window open wreck, loot all, close Monster UI window
Close, Close! CLOSE! Begone Clutter!!
Please forgive my rage-face... I'll go chew on the walls for a while or something.

PROBLEM: The new UI window is useless outside of station, terrible for mining and ratting as it is big and causes small freezes lag on multiple clients. Adds unneeded clutter to a formerly clean UI. It's making mining/ratting neigh impossible with multiple accounts.
FIX: Give people an option to disable the new UI. |

ISSUE: When managing many ships in one station, the list on the left is an inefficient two-dimensional way to represent your selection of ships, and must be scrolled around.
FIX: Do not hide/remove your current ship in the items view section of the UI, so you can efficiently see all your ships when you have your ship hangar node selected.
ISSUE: Moving stuff between ships, containers, etc.. requires a lot of extra clicking in the new UI, and constant scrolling of the list on the left, and the alternative is taking up your entire screen with different inventory windows.
FIX: Re-enable dragging items to window tabs, so you can stack the UI windows you need to move items between and efficiently move items by dragging to the tabs. |

Honestly I do not know how to make this better without giving us back our old IU.. The new inventory is just horrible.. Looting, mining everything is so hard, confusing and cluttered that I almost stoped playing..
In fact I have been skipping looting a lot and station spinned instead.
I need to click 1 container and have that open in one window, then click ship cargo and have that open in a seperate window..
Trying to operate a rorqual inside a pos with 10 corp hangars and lots of other modules are hopless with everything opening in the same window.. and the inventory list so long you have to scroll up and down all day.
It also covers so much of the screen because of the list of items on the left.
Often you must scroll and if you hold mous over a corp hangar for a few sec it changes view to that.. so I have to scroll up and down again to find my ship hangar again.
the new inventory works ok in station but not in space.
FIX Seperate ship hangar, corp hangar and ship maint arrrays.. More or less give us back the old style

Took me a bit to "Get used to the new UI". I do understand how some don't and rage about it. But i like it...mostly. It has a few bugs and could be tweaked some.
Issue: Every time i jump the inventory toggles. If it was open it closes, if it is closed it opens. If i want to look at my inventory I want to hit the button. If i was looking at something, you forced me to stop looking at it.
Fix: Stop it from "sensing" what it thinks i want and stay closed or stay open.
Issue: The "My filters" section needs to stay closed ALL the time unless i want to use it. and 9/10 times it takes me 2 clicks to get it to shrink. If i want to filter for something let me hit 1 button. Stop forcing me to look at something i don't want all the time.
Fix: coding it to stay closed unless opened
Issue: I do mining ops with my Girlfriend in her Mammoth, She has 9 Giant secure cans in her hold to haul more. It is nice they appear on the list so she can open the jet can we use and drag n drop ore into each can. She gets frustrated when she drops ore on a full can and has to click and try another can repeatedly 'till she finds an empty one.
Fix: To the left of the Canister icon in the list add a small blue slider that shows the capacity of the cans. Like the blue bar on top of the UI now. or turn the ICON blue or red if it is full. Or as you hover over it with your mouse the highlight of the can changes to show capacity.
I also run a Noctis for salvaging, with 10 targets being pulled in and a lot of wrecks i need to open, i like how each wreck appears in the list and i can keep tapping LOOT ALL and then all the wrecks cycle and disappear from the list. |

Issue: The pricing modal for items in your inventory is off... WAY OFF! 1 Module i hover over says its worth 350,000 isk so i hit View Market. There are 10 listings of the item selling for 50,000 to 125,000 and 1 guy selling for 350,000.
Fix: Better pricing modal like average moving price for last 30 days. or Median value of all listings within 9 jumps. any calculation of fair market value would be more accurate and better than what it is now. It should also be based in the Region you are in. |

First off, thanks for making living in pos's bearable again. But there's still work to be done.
My ideas are:
1) Like many have mentioned before, the inventories need to remember their state. If someone likes to have many windows, they can separate them by shift+click. The next time that inventory is opened, it should remember it's settings (position, item icons, etc) and stay separate. This would allow many of those who don't want a unified inventory to separate and shape their inventory windows the way they want. In essence, allowing them to have "the old inventory" if they wish. Things like wrecks should be a group that remembers the setting for all wrecks.
2) Allow users to make their own groups in the tree. Just like with corp bm's let us create and name the groups and let us determine what goes where. (those who live in pos's can group all the things they don't want to see in one "folder")
3) Allow users to determine the order of appearance just like with the watch list. If we can drag and order the appearance of the folders in the tree, we can then order them the way we want. This would allow us to put stuff we rarely use in a folder at the bottom, and things we always use toward the top (ie pos guns in a folder at the bottom, and SMA's and CHA's in their own folders near the top.)
CCP had good intentions in wanting to unify and simplify our inventory to make things easier. However by doing so they also took away a lot of customization. |

ISSUE: The unified Inventory epic fail
FIX: The windows should remain persistent (memorize last setting in each window) so when we re-dock, these windows will be open at the previous setting.
Having to constantly re-open windows in station is a royal PAIN and detracts from the original, simplistic inventory we used to have which made game play easy and effortless. Please make the new Unified Inventory optional or fix the issue. |

I'm sorry I'm late to the table.
One, it's slow. the refresh rate is not only slow enough to be aggravating but also seems to be causing some latency in other tasks that require windows to remain open across accounts like mining into orca hangers.
Two, it's taking up more space than the old system. I know we've heard ad infinitem that you can minimize the side car window.. but that's not the problem. The problem is there are no longer any tabs on the hanger windows for the Orca.. and what there is takes more space than the old system in the form of a column that needs to stay pulled down for access to all hangers - in space or in station.
Three, the Orca ore cargo bay is gone form the pull down menu meaning I have to dig for it in the inventory column instead.
Four, I don't like new windows overwriting old windows ..ever. I will close windows I don't want up.
Five, some of the bar info like estimated value and search features are not useful to me..and serve to make the window footprint larger... in fact, they may be partially responsible for lagging the game, making multi boxing more difficult to do.
Six, I really miss the double clicking in station to get the active ships cargo window up (and not overwriting the other windows).. Though double clicking now works the overwrite is maddening. yes I know hold down shift... does that have to be the answer to everything? Why the overwirte?
Seven, I can no longer drop my new ships into the item window and get them to auto move to the ship hanger. The reason this is a problem is that if you try to drop a ship into the ship hanger directly it is hard to find a spot where you aren't accidentally dropping the ship into a random cargo bay or an unoccupied ship. I have already wasted much game time trying to find ships that ended up somewhere I never intended.
Eight, the icons on the fitting window no longer open access to the drone hanger or the cargo hanger...forcing us to again pull up and fumble with the new inventory system window.
Nine, the cargo window appears opened multiple times when the Orca flies away due to the orca hanger windows resetting to current cargo.... don't need it up twice. Would be better if it closed when the orca left.
Ten, did I mention the lag..... |

I would end up wanting this turned off .. I don't like auto stack for historical reasons. If I need to go find a specific amount I dropped in I don't want it to have stacked with out my knowledge.
If all I did was salvage and occasional loot I would not have a problem with this... in fact the new inventory would not be the headache it is for me now.
my advice is that you make it as simple as possible.. too many tools will just get in the way. You could add many of the tools into the Assets.. People expect these kinds of tools in the under assets. |

That's fine with me, however --how likely is it?
I am certain many players would love to have numerous patches rolled back, but it just won't happen. Eve is moving forward. Either you go forward with it and offer a way to improve what is, or remain stewing in the past. Heck, I want the old inventory system back, too. It's just not going to happen.
I proposed we improve the new system and make it more like the old system, at least the important parts we find most convenient and accommodating. This is far more realistic than proposing we scrap the whole UI upgrade. Again, I want the old system back, but it's just not a reality.
I want PLEX removed --will that ever happen? NO. The game was far less problematic before PLEX. Not as many kamikazes in high sec, not as many whiners complaining about players mining ice and accusing us of cheating and ruining their game. Heck, in the 9 years I have played I have never seen as many crybabies and troublemakers in game as I do now. I remember a time when we could skip a patch and not worry about it. I remember when it was available for Linux and we ran scripts of our own. I remember a lot of things I miss. Do you want to know something? Eve changes. Get used to it.
How about we work on a constructive way to improve what we now have? |

In all my years in eve one thing has always bugged me and since this day has still existed. Why if like items are moved from place to place I.E. say from ship cargohold to dock item hanger do like items not stack. It just creates more work for the users. Just no reason why if i drop ammo in my hanger i got in loot into the hanger and I have some there already, that those exact same items wouldn't just stack. I mean putting like items next to each other is just not enough. It's just silly |

Having been talking with customer support I have been directed here.
It has been mentioned many times, and I am sure you guys are getting bored of hearing it:
Using the new inventory system in a POS, amongst a load of wrecks, in a capital ship or anywhere near corporate hangars is a horrible chore.
Please provide the ability for me to restore the old functionality (not the old code), and please communicate definitively to the community via a public announcement that you are going to do it.
To whit:
1. opening a new container should open its own window - it should not replace my cargo window, my fuel bay window, my carrier's corporate hangar window or any other window - it should create its own window. The current shift-click functionality should be the default, not an option.
2. Each container (or at least class of container) should remember where it was, like it used to 2 weeks ago. Efficient operation of mundane tasks in eve depends upon this being the case. This includes (but is not limted to): - drone bay - capital ship corporate hangar - fuel bay - ship maintenance array (ships and POS) - cargo bay - loot cans - jet cans - secure containers - corporate deliveries hangar - my items hangar in a station - my ships - ship maintenance array
3. Please return the corporate tabs to the container and put them at the top like they used to be. This is really important for managing ships, cargo, ammo and modules at a POS.
3. Please remove the "estimated value" thing. It serves no purpose and takes up valuable screen space.
4. Please remove or reduce in size the "fullness bar". It serves no purpose and takes up valuable screen space.
5. Please ensure that opening 1 container does not cause a subscription to all containers on grid. If you must subscribe to all containers, please do it as a background concurrent task. As things stand, my whole UI freezes *every time a new ship arrives on grid*. Can you imagine how debilitating that is when you have a 30-man fleet assembling in a POS?
6. Please return the right-click menu to "open fuel bay" and "open corporate hangars" on capital ships (in their own windows of course)
7. Having done the above, please provide option buttons to enable: - the tree view (but default off) - the fullness bar (default off, and make it much smaller) - the isk value (default off) - but please do not show isk value in WH space as this is inconsistent with there being no market access there. How does the information feed get there if there were no information relays via stargates? It's not consistent with exiting game mechanics. - the possibility of every container-open operate to overwrite the current container window. I know that a few people like this.
Finally, I appreciate that a minority like the new container UI but it seems from the forum feedback that most do not. To be honest it makes POS life a living hell. It sucks the enjoyment out of the game. This is not good for anyone - CCP or the players.
Thanks for listening and once again, please confirm whether or not these specific changes will be implemented. I think this one action is more important than perhaps you realise since the recent change destroyed the excellent relationship between players and CCP that we enjoyed after Hillmar's apology and subsequent excellent response by CCP at the beginning of the year.
It may be that you plan to do all of the above, but I don't know. And I need to know, because if you are not I need to evaluate whether the continued investment of time in eve justifies the newly reduced pleasure I get from playing it.
If you come out and say, "yes, we'll do it - guaranteed" then I have a reason to keep waiting. If you don't, I will have to assume that you do not intend to repair the UI, and I should indeed find a new game.
Which is it to be?
Sincerely,
R

You guys/gals at CCP are really not listening to us are you?
ISSUE: As of today 6/1/12 you applied a new patch to the UI, thanks for trying, however, when i dock i still have to hit alt-c or push the button to open inventory, as well as hit the slider to see the list of crap that i own. This is not remembered for each docking. EVERY DOCK i have to open inventory AND then PUSH THE SLIDER. This will **** me off in a matter of.... too late!
Fix: We own computers with large amounts of storage space. Please utilize some of it with a small itty bitty file called UIConfig.*** or use it on your end I DO NOT CARE. Have it store window positions AND STATES. If you can't come up with the code yourselves, I am sure there are many programmers that play eve that are more talented than CCP employees and would be willing to "help" you for a few PLEX.
Issue: If it ain't Broke? Fix: CCP it
Found a hotkey setting to rebind "I" to open inventory. there is the list. But i still have to click "My Filters" twice to drop it EVERY TIME. |

Shortcuts - Add more.
I would like to see more shortcuts to the Inventory list, like... I can press, CTRL+ALT+1,2,3,4,5,6,7 after whatever corphangar I want to look into. I belive this would works wonders for miners and myself as a inventor. I have shitat-loads of stuff locked away in containers, and it does take a while to load up the corphangar, just a couple of seconds, but I have 4 accounts witch I invent with all 3 char 2 times a day.. It's a pain in the end. But loading up the needed corphangar when I login/load in station would save me alot of clicks.
I would love if there was the ability to add shortcuts to the NEO-COM aswell. so with 1 click, you could load up like corphangar 5, that would save alot of time for alot of people, and it would be fairly simple to create... i belive.
last note. I'm not fond of the new inventory, but adding thise shortcuts will helt alittle on it. Alltho working with alot of containers in corphangar is a pain!
I'm sitting in a rorqual, docked, and my list with ships, personal stuff+containers, corp assets +containers..... if I expand the complete list, the scroll bar is verrry long - Pain
