Another FIX: Comparing to organizing inventory with containers, A FILTER SYSTEM will be way better when dealing with masses of items, like you already trying with the asset window. Just finish that function with a decent GUI instead of the current command line and apply it to the inventory window. Click some check box and filter your inventory display without even pressing enter will be awosome.please reference the filter system in Football Manager.
I also suggest you combine the 'Assets' 'Ships' and 'Items' windows into 1, with the filter option of "only display items between X and Y jumps from me"
Candidate filter keywords:

Please let us name and save our customized filter setting like we do with overview, and let us add multiple tabs in asset windows to use these customized settings just like in overview, you switch the tab, different items appear and hide. The current Assets window and Inventory window can be made into two tabs with simply different distance filter setting, and ships windows is another tab with only the type "ships" checked.
What's more, this filter system can be adopted by the market window easily, making everything easier to find without remembering names or dealing with containers , and make the UI of EVE much more unified. |

Issue: Having several hundred different items in one hangar. Finding certain items is slow process and the window is lagging when doing searches.
Fix: Allow player to create tabs to hangar (no limits how many tabs) and rename them as he/she likes. By right clicking the tab's name you get options to tag item types that should go directly to this tab ie. if you make tab named BPOs and then tag Blueprints for that tab, the next time you move blueprints out of your ship's cargo or buy from market, they'll automatically go to this new tab even if you drop them to default tab. This eliminates the need to use cans for storage sorting and this also automates the sorting process. By default all items would go into "default" hangar tab and if you make some item type to go into another tab, it's automatically removed from "default" hangar and moved to new one.
In assets window, show one stations hangar tabs in tree like format (ie. folder structure), so that you can open one tab at once or multiple ones.
Industrial, research, reprocess, selling, contracting should work in all tabs.
Oh, and make tutorial for new players how to use this feature.
Issue: Sorting items by their meta level when using item icons
Fix: The item list does have this function already so it would just require using the same code... or if this is not possible, then add new search functions that work with searches like "shield extender, level:meta 4" etc. If you add the above tab thingy to hangar, then perhaps you could also add tags like meta 1, meta 2 etc. so that by default certain meta level items would go into one hangar tab. |

ISSUE : Impossible to know which items are damaged
FIX : Add Red Border or Icon to damaged items. Auto-repackaging undamaged items would be great as part of this.
ISSUE : Corp Hangar Button Difficult to find/access
FIX : Integrate with UI, make Delivery and office hangars easily viewable as subfolders.
ISSUE : Lots of items become difficult to manage, search function helps but requires input.
FIX : Allow premade filters with a drop down menu - So I can prefilter Frigates, all frigate modules and anything that I want to do with a frigate, rename the fitler to "Frigate Stuff" and then that's always available from a drop down. So I can easily get to those items while fitting a Frigate for example. The premade filters would require work ahead of time, but give customized results based on personal usage and more functionality. Column sorting handles most other peoples concerns with "meta items only" while custom filters would be able to taylor to a persons usage. This is a nice idea, but the current implementation of Stack - automatically does a Sort. If I am collecting loot or managing random assembled fittings that someone hands me, I want to keep those fittings separate from my own.
Today if I accept a bunch of items, they are dumped unsorted at the "end" of my hanger, I can easily select and repackage them, and drag the items to a can, and stack there to keep them separate from my stuff.
For this feature idea to work for me, I would need a Stack Selected Items option. (Repackage working inside of cans would also be nice.) |

You'd select your stacks of the different items, hold shift to specify quantity like you normally would, then drag and release to the destination. When asked for the quantity, that value is applied to all the selected items (or the maximum it can allow)
Not being able to do this drives me nuts.
Example: I've 6 types of missiles & I want equal amounts of all of them. I select the missiles from my source, hold shift and drag them to their destination. The value I then enter is applied to all the missiles, removing a significant number of clicks I have to do.

Issue: Trying to stack items with limited space cannot be done easily. Example: You have two stacks of identical ammo both 50m3 in a small container (120m3). Right-click stack claims that there is not enough room for the items. However you can drag and drop the items on top of each other to stack them.
Possible solution: Subtract the smaller pile of items from the total volume before trying to stack.
Issue: Repackaging containers with items in them. This can cause cluttering in your hangar and general pain in the posterior due to having to reorganize your stuff back if you accidentally repackaged your general storage.
Possible solution: Ask before repackacing containers with items inside.
Issue: No chance to react to errors. Detailed in an earlier post in this thread. Annoying when you have to get that partial stack back from your target container.
Possible solution: If you encounter an error, add a popup asking if you want to abort/ / skip / continue the operation, just like in the windows explorer. |

Example, I know Im going to pick something up thats 200m3 in size, and I want to fill the rest up with ammo.
So I set the 'reserve space' option to 200 m3, I drop a stack of ammo in and it says "doing this operation will encroach on your reservation, do you want to a, ignore reservation(remove), b, retain reservation and use the rest. c, occupy reservation.

Suggestion
Shift click all the items you wish to sell..
Opens another window similar to the contract creation window.
At the top it shows your overall income from the sale, the taxes, and the number of items.
A list below diplays all the selected items with a checkmark that can be unckecked if you do not wish to sell that item(I.E. you'll make more reprocessing it) You can also right click each individual item and select "create buy order" through that same window and it will automatically adjust everything to select the new price.
Each item will show the price you will receive for that item or stack of like items, and will show the % above or below regional average.
Nice and organized, quick and easy....Better for everyone.. |

Problem: Inventory management for a POS is hell when you are working as an alliance in 1 POS . Ie Large Mining ops with members hauling from many corps. Multiple members Compressing ore. - It is hard extremely using Alts and Jetison cans to move the corp compressed and not COmpressed around...
Solution 1: -=A pos modual that is a 1 slot - no tabs. Allowing alliance members to take and give.
ie corp hanger with out the tabs or something 100 times the size Large Ship assembly array size would be nice.
Eve make it super large anchorable storage space with a password on it maybe.
Solution 2: Make a ship that when in Deployed mode turns in to a massive storage space. burning Liquid Ozone or Heavy water full to maintain the ships inventory gravitational Field. - act much like a Siege thing. This ship could also be useful in high sec so it may be a subcap ship possibly or a may be an alternate Industrial for the rorqual. to be used in Low and Null sec only.
I agree with several people: CCP needs to focus most of eve's recources on FIS, but the development of WIS still needs to continue, just as a slower and more efficient pace. In eve I wish to be more than just a machine. |

Problem: I salvage, I want to sell what I have salvage to what ever buyer I can. Most of the stuff is 1 or 2 of an item. Now I have to sell each selected item manually... this is very time consuming and annoying.
Solution: when a group of items are selected have a sell all option that will give me an option on quick sell: Option A - Sell to current buy orders. Option B - Place Buy orders for all items at Average regional price at 0 or +/- a percentage of of this price.
Will see a lot more items seeded on the market and more Commerce out in Null sec. May even make this a skill to be learn: Auto sell /Sell order Skill - per level you may auto sell 10 Items or place a generic sell order based on regional average. At level 5 i can Do groups of 50 separate items. at once..(this skill would be in so much demand you would be amazed.)

Solution 1: I would love an inventory items button that would clear out all inventory of item of less value than 1million (or a value I set) based on Jita Price Average. Or at a set meta level I choose or less. (risk of pressing button to easily)(for whole Eden universe)
Solution 2: Better yet at a station tab have a service "The Liquidator" That you can donated all your stuff to the Hungry mouths of Sisiters of Eave orphan fund or some other NPC in game Charity. ISSUE: It's pretty cumbersome to get specific information (like damage value, insurance) about a lot of items or ships. FIX: Add extended tooltips to ships and items that may include the following: Damage value, insurance level, cargo hold, fitting link, fuel levels for capitals, market value, etc. Those tooltips should stay as long as the mouse is hovering the ship and the tooltip. I dislike the idea of using folders/tags for inventory management. I think the above idea is more inline with how the Overview filtering works (i.e. using predefined types to toggle visibility on/off). p.s. Meta level should always be visible.
ISSUE: Dont want to reprocess FIX: Would it be possible to select a bunch of items and sellect "Sell to the highest bidder (if any)" which would go through and bulk sell all selected items to the highest buy order for that station (if any).
ISSUE: Fitting ships can be a pain FIX: allow an entire stack of mods to be dropped on at same time. If they are all the same weapons, ask the user if they want to group these.
ISSUE: Unfitting ships can be a pain FIX: when removing a mod/used drones and they arent damaged, can't you just repackage them?

I have often thought about this, I'm sure alot of us have this issue. It might be against CCP/EVE philosophy but I had the idea of hiring NPC couriers to haul stuff to a designated location. They would fly slowly through space on autopilot and have no defenses and would only be useful for moving small amounts of worthless stuff around (at cheap cost/effort). Perhaps no CONCORD intervention for them also.

Icons in place of text representing which ship or hangers the tab is attributed to. In the case of maybe a jump freighter's cargo and fuel bay being open at once, use a picture of the jump freighter on both tabs and the text, 'cargo hold', 'fuel bay' on their respective tabs. |

Can you guys also rewrite the word editor within eve there are some verious serious issues with jumping words, inability to copy past color text from areas that allow it to areas that still allows it. And being able to preserve notes or mails fully and easily remailable.
Then give us the option to save files those involved files locally and force us to check mark files to be uploaded and stored on the cloud storage where it could be reterived elsewhere when requested. If you have too put a box limit.

Problem
Corporate assets management is very confusing and cookie cutter.
Solution
Easier management of who can access what as far as corporate assets such as naming pilots by name who have access to specific hangers/cans and setting up a "cheat sheet" showing who has access to what with a grid and X's that you can toggle on and off.
Allowing corp members to anchor their own containers in space.
Maybe take this as far as allowing corp members to deploy and run their own POS without allowing them the level of privileges to steal all of the corps other POS's. |
