Can you make a filter option that is "Prerequisites met" or something like that? I'd like to be able to filter my corp's hangar for ships that I can fly. |

I was thinking about a format like this:
ISSUE: Explain your issue FIX: How do you suggest we fix it?
Example: ISSUE: The huge pile of windows that you end up with when performing simple inventory management tasks FIX: Make it possible to manage your inventory through a single window that lists all the accessible inventory locations as well as making it easy to browse and drag items between them
Oh, and I'll fix lag while I'm at it, so no need to explicitly request that
Thanks in advance.
1 - Issue: there was no need to update the old sytem 2 - Issue: the new system is slower in every way as it forces you to go through useless inventory, scroll down the tree stack, then click on the actualy inventory you wanted-> which used to be 'click on hangar/cargo or shiphangar". 3 - Issue: you ignored your customers when they gave you feedback from the sisi testing....
FIX: 1 - Rollback the inventory! Bring back the old methodes, put a shiny color on it 2 - Implement the new inventory system into the Assets window! THIS would actualy make sense as all the good things in this patch would be used when you want to sort items, go through big piles of containers and cargo. 3 - Save the game, not your face Inferno do stuff with stuff to imitate the stuff you could do faster with the old stuff

If it has already been reported, then sorry.
Issue: when selecting an area in the tree on left there, the keyboard focus is not in the right window, for using cut&paste I need another mouse click into the right side, which is annoying at least Fix: automatic keyboard focus

Issue: The whole new UI - it is not the old one - NO ONE had asked for a change! FIX: ROLL BACK TO THE OLD ONE!
At least build a version so that I, and all others, are able to rebuild the old UI 100%; 1to1 again. NO one need all information in one window. WE demand hundreds of its own, adjustable in size and position, windows. We demand the exact copy of the old UI!
And please stop introduceing more threads HOW SHOULD WE FIX IT? You have your comments:
Here HERE HERE!!! HERE!!!!!!
How many threads do you need more till you have find out, that your UI is absolte crapsh!t and that it is impossible to rescue this project?
BRING BACK THE EXACT COPY OF THE OLD UI!!! 100% and 1to1 as it was before 22.05.2012!!!!!!!!!!!!! With every further question and next thread you will bring more hate into the community! STOP IT! Just roll back!
Callidus Dux wrote:I had a look at your dev blog.
Shift-clicking works fine, but like with all shortcuts, you need to know it exists. WeGÇÖre going to allow inventories to be GÇ£dragged outGÇ¥ of the main UI. ItGÇÖs basically the same functionality as shift clicking, but instead of being hidden behind a hotkey, you can simply drag and drop it out with your mouse.
Does this mean that I am able to drag out EVERY entry out of this unified UI in order to have my hundreds of own adjustable windows back WITHOUT any shift+click crap? I want icons in my neocom to open my SHIP hangar to see all the available ships as icons again; I want a double click to open my cargo hold of my current active ship. I want seperate Windows for every station container-which opens per double click at the corresponding icon within the other seperate own window of my station hangar. Do you work on that so that I am able to ABSOLUTE rebuild the former state of my arrangement for all possible and available (own) windows?
You have to understand that I, and many many others, would never accept the shift+click "cripple solution" and will never accept the tree view when we have to drag things from 'A' to 'B'. We all want windows. Seperate windows, adjustable in size and position- responsing on doubleclicks or cklicks at icons. NO hotkeys or shortcuts!
And as it is. Who is that a$$hole who has 100 windows open all the time? When I work I have just a few (2 till maximum 5) windows. The picture from Arrows blog to bring his crap to the customer is false and absolute far away from any reality!
AND PLEASE PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON TOP: Stop advertising your buddy / friend programm. In this state of development of INFERNO it just seems to be very inappropriate and ridiculous to show this mess a friend. Really.
I have to knwo this. Because my subscription depends on the right answer. CCP has to learn that they can not change fundamental things WITHOUT the community (again). If CCP hates the old inventory, they hate ALL of us old players including me and wants to get rid of them. And this would be a scandal! But what can we expect when the responsible designer for this new UI stated: "We do not believe your feedback from the test servers." |

A lot of the issues over the new inventory system are really quite simple to fix. You just need to get your heads out of your ass and LISTEN.
1. Bring back the clickable buttons that just open a single hanger (Ships, Items, Corp Hanger). Make these windows remember size and position, and reinstate the tabs on the Corp hanger.
2. Reinstate the important right-click shortcuts.... Open fuel bay, drone bay, ships hanger, ore hold, ship maintenance bay, Corp hanger. Again, make these windows remember size and position, and reinstate the tabs on the Corp hanger. It REALLY REALLY is not a bad thing to have important stuff in the right-click menu when it improves functionality. Like others have said, remove some of the redundant ones instead, undock etc.
3. Double clicking in your main hanger should open your cargo ONLY. Not the whole inventory, thatGÇÖs what the button on the Neocom is for. Make this window remember size and position. Same applies for the cargo icon while in space.
4. Open a wreck in a new window. Make this window remember size and position. Keep the loot all button.
5. Give an option to hide the ISK value from the inventory windows, it is not something that we would use all the time, it just takes up space. It can be un-hidden when needed.
6. Reduce the size of the volume bar at the top of the window. Again, it just takes up space, revert to the previous thinner bar.
I cannot believe that this stuff would be difficult to implement, and it would go a long way to reducing the rage most people are feeling at the moment.
The good stuff in this patch is being totally overshadowed by this. ItGÇÖs a crying shame as the new missile effects are awesome |

Explanation: When in space I suspect its pretty common for people to have their cargo bays open to check for ammount of cap booster/ammo and for looting purposes. In addition when in space people have most likely one hand at their mouse and the other hand somewhere around the function keys, this will in any case be true for pvp situations where quick response is the difference between going home with a killmail or in your pod.
Issues that arise form this situation:
#1: Cargo window is now bigger than before(even with tree minimized), due to volume bar and isk amount displayed, thus taking up more screen space and blocking sight of nice things like nebulas, ships and explosions.
#2 When trying to loot in a potentialy hostile environment by selecting the cargo container via an overview tab and usage of the "open cargo" button in the overview controls the wreck/jetcan opens in the already open window of the ships cargohold, thus making it impossible to cherry pick loot quickly. The loot all option might be impractical because the wreck might contain bulky items of low value that are of no interest (like cap boosters) . Shift click is a problematic option to solve this since both hands are already occupied as described above.
Possible Fixes:
#1 Add more customization options and make volume bar/ isk amount display optional. Options could be added in th esc menu. preferable with different choices for different situations like: "Show etsimated ISK while in space yes/no", "Show estimated ISK while docked yes/no".
#2 Make it the default behavior, that any accessed jetcan/ wreck/ posmodule/ whateverihavemissed opens in a new separate window with treeview minimized when accessed via any means but the treeview itself.
And although you mentioned that lag will be adressed anyway....it realy should be top priority....any noticeable lag at all is unacceptable in a potentialy hostile environment.

Automated and human-based regression testing appears to be non-existent as demonstrated with every single patch breaking an existing feature or bit of functionality that is glaringly obvious either on Sisi or when stuff is rolled up to Tranq for public consumption. CCP's publicy documented "known issues" are a joke and do not even begin to cover the broken crap thrown up on Tranq.
Furthermore, 'the hand of QA' appears to be missing in the overall design, coding and validation life cycle that *should* go hand-in-hand with a feature change or new game asset. Many times we see a dev blog outlining a new feature or a change to an existing mechanism. But when that gets rolled out to Tranq, either stuff is broken, *surprise* features are present or behavior is unexpected. If QA personnel had both presence and authority for a given project, this kind of crap would disappear quickly.

What we have here..... is a failure to communicate
4 different threads on this one subject
CCP soundwave saying one thing and the other DEVS saying something totally different Obviously shows they are not communicating with each other much less the community of their customer base
if you are trying to divide and conquer it will not work, each new thread will just enrage the community more feeling they are not being listened too
The only ones that could possibly think the new file trees are better than the system we had before are anal retentive programmers
people on the test server gave you feedback and YOU Didn't listen to one word 4 different threads on the same issue and you are Still not listening
if that is NOT a failure to communicate, I don't know what is

Hello CCP Optimal.
There is a perfectly useful Thread running in Info Portal. To find this new thread, here, is just alarming. CCP Soundwave has already set the table for you & CCP Arrow.
-- Plenty of pilots in that thread are still ready to offer clear references, links, and comments -- Those ideas will most likely be quite helpful in retooling what currently passes for inventory management -- There will be plenty of time to 'tinker-and-test' when this system is moved back onto Sisi.... where it belongs
What, a bit uncomfortable with the high % of negative commentary in Soundwave's thread? Feel for ya, really! Despite a best effort this system has not been so well received. If you can deal with the 'Tin Foil Hat' crowd, I think you'll find that once folks calm down after you start posting, you might get what you're seeking. Best of luck. |

I have to say that it's nice to see that CCP is taking our comments on board and this can be seen here from CCP Soundwave.
I may log back in in a couple of days and undock to see beautiful missiles...but not right now as it'll take me 30 minutes to find more missiles!
CCP: Keep reading this thread. A lot of people have used some inappropriate language but their frustration comes from their passion for EVE much like my own and we all pay to play and just can't with this UI. Fantastic to see that this feedback is being taken on-board but a simple suggestion to ensure a happy player base AKA The Customer:
A bit of RL background on me: I work as a Virtual Environment Engineer and take projects involving new software through the path to LIVE so I kind of know the rough process. My idea's are below:
Issue:
Test Server "Volunteers" DO NOT always follow CCP's rules for testing. "Volunteers" DO NOT always submit reports\feedback.
Solution:
- Form a new group of volunteers called "UAT Volunteers" (UAT stands for User Acceptance Testing).
- These volunteers would be vetted on application and if successful would be asked to feedback on WIP (Work in Progress) updates\expansions.
- Limit the volunteers to have a minimum Time In Game (e.g. 1 year) so that you have individuals who have been in EVE long enough to know how things are going.
- Ask them what their main playing time consists of e.g. PVP, "Carebearing", Missions etc.
- Create a new Testing Server just for them to test updates\patches\new ideas on and provide them with a feedback forum to report back to you.
- Make this new server similar to SiSi with seeded market, POS's etc but only provide 1 region or a few Solar Systems. This doesn't need to reflect TQ or SiSi as it's for dedicated testing to meet specific objectives.
- Limit the number of people to say 500 globally.
- REWARD them for testing and feeding back.
- Punish them if they go "rogue" during testing.
- Testing would be on an invite with a weeks notice before testing and the Agenda sent to the UAT Volunteers.
- Obviously include a commercial confidentiality clause similar to an EVE "Official Secrets Act".
Benefits:
You can get early eyes on feedback from a selection of the Player Base AKA The Customer before throwing a lot more time into further development of things like the new UI. The UAT Volunteers would be willing and enthusiastic to provide this as they are all volunteers and selected for their skills, background, experience etc. It would cost a little to begin with to set up a new environment for this testing but the benefits you and we Capsuleers would gain could be tremendously beneficial. Just my suggestion's roughly thrown together but if this were to happen I would volunteer like a shot to be in this team (if I passed the rigorous selection process I stated above)! How many times have we all gone on a Mass Test and had PVP before the Test even starts from Players who want nothing than to disrupt\annoy\grief.
