Trading with other characters in station is a pain. The trade window always pops up behind where I keep my inventory window. Perhaps merge it into the inventory list, like you have with ship cargo and all? |

In station when looking at the ship hanger I can find it very hard to find the ship I want (I am lucky enough to own a lot of ships). My ships are all named a bit randomly and I struggle to identify what ship is what. I would really appreciate it if the ship hanger view was organised like this:
Ship Hanger> ____________________________ Frigates:- (ship type) - (ship name) Imicus - Scout 1 Imicus - Probe Ship Incursis - Daft Bat Rifter - Zoom Zoom ____________________________ Destroyers:- (ship type) - (ship name) Eris - Fail Dic ____________________________ Cruisers:- (ship type) - (ship name) Rupture - Kill It ____________________________ Battlecruisers:- (ship type) - (ship name) None

This way I could quickly find the ship I want from a list instead of looking at my randomly organised ships |

a lot of well made and easily navigated UI systems utilise the keyboard to help easily navigate through folder structures, this is actually one of the genuinely awesome features of mac os. If you're in column view u can navigate through folder structures VERY fast.
also a keyboard cut and paste to move stuff around would be awesome. for example:
Click the UI window in the hangar to make it the focus window. the left side structure part of the window has keyboard focus press down on the keyboard till u get to your item hangar press right to open it (and open the menu to the cargo containers) the keyboard focus moves to the larger right section of the UI window. u can navigate to what you want and hit ctrl+x to start moving some items (if theyre stacked itll ask u to select how many u want to move) u press right on the keyboard till u get to an item on the left of the large right side of the UI, hitting left again shift the keyboard focus to the left side folder structure on the left side of the UI. u navigate to where u want to items to go and u paste the items there with a ctrl+v.
for multiple items hitting ctrl+x will move all items selected regardless of stack size.
u can also use keyboard keys to open certain well used parts of the UI. for example: Home key - opens Item Hangar page up/down - jumps the open right side of the UI view up/down by a whole page. End key - opens ship hangar.
havent checked to see if this is actually possible right now, possibly the latter stuff is with the escape > shortcuts menu but the cut and paste would be usefull and using keyboard arrows to get about the UI would also be useful! |

Issue: Double clicking the spaceship in your station panel, doesn't open the container any more, but instead boards that same ship.
Fix : Short of changing the result of double clicking a ship when in captains quarters and in a ship, Ex. in your ship, it opens the cargo, when in CC it boards that ship...
Issue: When you have 15-30 ships in station, and you double click on the ship you just boarded, sometimes the inventory window opens the cargo of the ship you were in not the ship you ARE in.
Fix: get someone to fix it

well as a suggestion, try to improve it by not removing fixed broken features.
Like before the last patch, it was kinda working. Since the last patch, it fails to memorize defaults, like i prefer everything in the detailed listview, without the icons, sorted by groups, size/category/meta removed. every time i open a different corphangar, or redock/undock/changeship/whatever happens, i have to set the cargohold up again, this is a bit irritating. Could you please fix what you have broken, but fixed before breaking it again please?

1. Every single property of every single object (that you can have in the inventory) in the game should be able to display as a column. For those objects that lack that property, just don't display anything.
2. Everything should be searchable, no matter where is it.
3. It should be possible to display items in a hierarchical view, that is, one view that contains all of your stuff no mater where it is.
4. Groping of items into a hierarchical based on item type. So it ill display a bit like the market....this way you will get all modules in one place and so on
5. Tagging of items a) you should manually be able to tag any item with any number of tags b) you should be able to create rules that will auto-tag any item with any number of tags. you should be able to access all properties of all objects to create these rules c) you should be able to define an hierarchy of tags, which should be used when displaying items in "Tag-view"
6. When looking at something in the market you should be able to right click any item and select "search inventory" to see if you already have this and if so where it is and how it is used right now. This should be done in a small pop-up dialog where you should be able to click "more..." if you want the full item search. If you have access to stuff in your corp, it should also show items from there.
7. whenever searching or displaying items there should be an option to include corp items you have access to as well as your own stuff.
8. You should be able to give another character full access to all your stuff, like when you have several characters in one account or you have several accounts. |

Finding peoples hangers from a large corp when delivering items is a massive pain. Can we have a way to search for members, so you don't have to manually scroll through the list.
Scrolling though 450 people when trying to reship quickly is not fun. |

I agree that the inventory UI is not helpful. At the least we should have the option to use the old UI with Items and Ships icons on the neocom directly or to use the new interface. A button or select boxes in the Settings window would work fine. Using the old method should revert to single click opening of windows. Even in space, clicking on the HUD cargo hold now requires holding the shift key while clicking it to prevent the inventory window from popping up. Samefor wrecks.
The biggest problem with the new inventory interface is that opening any items, ships, hangers, cargo hold, ore hold, wrecks or anything else that we open now either pop into an iventory window which is too crowded and gets in the way of we really want to do, unless we hold down the shift key.
It's a useless function and a nuisance at least. Maybe I'm not sophisticated enough but I just don't see ANY benefit of the Inventory UI. |

Problem: The dscanner only allows the input km when large distances are displayed in au on the map and overview. Solution: Allow the input of AU in the dscanner. This could be as simple as a checkbox for au input or automatic conversion to km by appending "au" at the end of the input.
Problem: It is not possible to configure the dscanner without also changing the overview. Solution: Allow the dscanner to be configured separately from the overview. Awesome "I love you forever" Solution: Allow the creation of dscanner tabs in much the same manner as the overview. With its own separate colorization and filtering settings. Yeah not helpful.
THIS is helpful:
1) improve the interface for refitting carriers (biggest issue) 2) introduce a default setting where clicking on a hangar division or ship cargo or wreck...whatever always opens up a new window (kinda like those html links that auto pop a new window for ya)
3) Make Shift+click more obvious to the trolls who don't read patch notes or go on sisi. 4) encourage more people to go on sisi 5) YOU THERE THE GUY WHO CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO TEST STUFF PLEASE GO ON THE TEST SERVER SO YOU DON'T GET CAUGHT OUT! 6) thank those epople nicely who give you feed back on sisi 7) more live dev participation on sisi.

If I fly into station and open cargo/move cargo/close cargo
Then I change ships and CTRL-C, it will then open last ships cargo, not the active one. |

so i think i remember them saying they are going to work on it til its fixed... but i still see many issues with it
primarily with the fact that if i have the inventory screen open in the station (where i want to see what i have), as soon as i undock its taking up my whole screen in space (where i don't care what i have), so naturally i close it, then the next time i dock at a station, i have to re-open my inventory screen to see what i have, then either close it before i undock (since i don't want to see an extra large version of my ships cargo) or close it after i undock
i like that they finally separated the windows so i wasn't screwed if i accidentally closed it instead of minimizing it while in space, but can't they separate the 'state' of the window too (since the obviously separated the windows and its position/size)?
and i'm still getting lost when the tree auto expands randomly when i get in the station, i don't care what ships i have nor do i want to see another window with my current ships cargo, either default it to the ships or the items, not the current ship's cargo again
finally, please auto close a ship's cargo window after i change/leave ship, i don't know how many times i have dropped modules/stuff into the open cargo window after changing ships only to realize it wasn't my current ship's cargo like we used to have with the old system (when you changed ships the cargo window changed to match)
i can't be the only one that still having issues with this wonderfully rushed shiney new feature that is full of holes that in some cases were brought up from the test server only to be ignored
i'm tempted to just start a new thread about this since its quite apparent the devs aren't paying attention to this anymore...
they will take the time to update spelling/grammar changes, resize ships and scew their stats inconsistently with their physical size just to "balance" everything, but they won't touch anything still broken with the inventory
did anyone at ccp ever sit down with the old system, write down what it did and how it reacted to players actions, then go through the new system, figure out everything it did (and didn't do), then discussed if these "enhanced features" were worth the cost, or at the very least how to fix it? |

The filters need more options, the 1st thing I tried to do was make a filter to show only large projectile ammo, I think it is impossible without listing each by name as a +, or listing every small or mid ammo with lead in its name as a -
so, why not a "size" is small / mid / large. could apply to ammo, modules, rigs, ships, and maybe other things I forgetting, pos's ext, might include XL as well
other solutions might also be to unabbreviate the S M and L's all over the place, or add small med large and XL as options in the 2nd pull down for group is charge. for all 3 types of projectile ammo, no need for missiles as they are all different types already
I might have been able to do it with volume, but its by stack volume, unintuitively. Maybe a 2nd pulldown to select per item or stack?
Also could the example in your post be more condescending, please? |

Great job, on the summer expansion!
First thing I noticed though was the mining yield amount is missing from the pop up module tips.
I have loved the new Inventory tree thing from the start, even though at first when I saw it on sisi I was appalled, I adapted and made it work for me, and the filters are great tools! I custom made myself some filters and use them all the time.
But Please! make it remember what I like.
It's so annoying to always have to reopened the tree, as it closes up to plain window by default and that's not right!
If a player doesn't like the tree and closes it, let it be closed for him from now on.
But I like it and use it all the time, why make me have to reopen it every time I dock or close the inventory (for PI)
As a CEO I have to open the index, then open the corp hangers, again and again, it's time consuming and super annoying!
I've pretty much given up on it and just dump all the **** in the hanger and move the crap only a few times a day now when I have to...
I thought more ppl used this feature and it would be fixed sooner, but it hasn't so I'm asking you to spend a little time on useful features it would be greatly appreciated!
And frankly I could care less how the light reflects off a ship or the character customization works as I spend less than .001% of my time on Eve looking at it, but spend more than 20% of my time looking at the Inventory... no offense intended just stating my opinion
I've come to realize that the inventory window is tied to the wreck/loot window so resizing it in the station also re sizes it in space and that the "in station" window, called hanger floor opens with the inventory index closed more appropriate to smaller windows like loot...
I really hope you will untangled this mess very soon.

I havnt read all the post here, so if this is already suggested im sorry.
POS logistics in null sec.
If you have people using a POS anywhere but in this case null, they wana be able to store items, mods and ore and bring to high sec for sales.
To be able to store all this members wana be able to use corp hanger, but as noone can open Giant Secure containers in a warehouse, they need to get an industrial ship and a new container. If the container is not assempled the need to find a spot to launch this cantainer and rename it to what ever, then load it into cargo bay again.
If you want anything into container you need to do so having the container in your cargo before putting it back into the warehouse.
We have a logistic team spending 8 hours once a week to go to those warehouses. They take a jump freighter, go to set POS. As they cannot open containers and travel with large secure container, they need to grap an industrial ship, grap the can in the warehouse into the industrial ship. Open can, and take a screenshot to rember what is in this can, then drop the items back into the warehouse for the jumpfreighter to pick up. They then do this 20-25 times and exit to high sec. In high sec they then have to walk trough all screenshot and put the item in 20-25 new cans.
THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!
Please make it posible to at least be able to open container inside POS modules Please make smaller container for freighters to carry, like 5000m3 or something. Nisroc Angels Nisroc - Angel of Freedom Nisroc is known as "The Great Eagle".

After killing an enemy, most of the time the player wants to see what's in the wreck.
It would be useful to see, in the inventory "tree", next to "Wreck", its distance : Wreck (1 843 m)
Sometimes you want to browse different wrecks around you and while your ship is moving to the first one, you can't clearly distinguish (in your inventory) which one is the first one or the second one....
Adding the distance (and updating it in real time) would avoid this "list of wrecks" in the inventory : Wreck Wreck Wreck

Issue : Can't organise your item hangar ?
Proposition : (really simple) Why don't you apply the market organisation to the default item hangar ? Keep the (magic) cargo container system as we still need it. But we also need subcategories and real arrangement. You can try some kind of "folder" system wich act in full transparancy on the default hangar, tidying up all our stuff automatically with only one box to check if you want to see your mess like it was before. A few tweaks on your market classification could easily do the job.

1. Text typed in upper left stays consistent for each opened tab. I hate going back to a given station container and having to re-type the same thing to filter down on the item I want to select. This may be amplified by the next request.
2. When I drag and drop something into a container/folder in the tab area, I don't want that tab to become active. I just want to drag stuff to it. If I want it active, I'll click on it.
That is all. It's definitely improving over time. |
