Goons defence on the forums is to go into the offence with one liners. They prefer to ridicule themselves before anyone else can ridicule them. They hide behind sarcasm. Also, every single one of them posting here would be banned for live on SA.com by now for posting worthless stuff, one liners and forum ******y. they are everything the SA community despises and pick upon.

But sadly, they just don't give a damn. We best get used to them and the degradation of the EvE community into a pre puberty, annoying, repetive, stupid pile of ****. Fun, isn't it?

Well, forgive me for thinking that the people behind the characters in this game deserve to be treated with a certain level of respect.
Generally I moderate my posts in the "bloke down the pub" manner. I can spend all evening mocking or praising people based on in-game events (and often do), but I draw the line at actually going out of my way to offend the people who participate in those events.
I'm sure those who have met me at Eve meets would concur that I am very good at seperating the game from the real world.
To me there is a line, and it should not be crossed. I'm not saying I am perfect, because I know damn fine I am not. However, if I cross that line and someone pulls me up on it then I will act accordingly .. not mock and ridicule those who I may have offended.
By treating people with that level of respect, the forums are a much more useful tool for communication, and much more enjoyable to use.

That isn't to say you can't propoganda your heart out, because of course you can. Just don't go out of your way to offend the people who play this game.

The community relations and politics, are what makes this game special. I'd go even further and say that they are one of the redeeming factors in an otherwise mediocre game.

Sure people like DBP are pretentious *****s, but you know, at the end of the day, when we all end up in other MMOs reminiscing about the good ol' EVE times it'll be people like him that will be remembered and not Goon_1872 that posted "You don't 'get' Goons".
