Edited by: KillahB on 10/03/2009 10:54:11 I too have the classic one, and I think it says error, cuz you have to start all over and fully download the premium client, which is almost 2GB, and when you downloaded that you install it and start patching (allthought the one you can download now is pathced as far as they are now i think).
Aleast thats what i get out of the FAQ. Plz not there is ONLY premium now.
(edit; im so slow, explained 100 times by now=)
btw, speed sucks on premium full build download 100kb/sec buuuuuh! no ones Illah than KiLLaH

Edited by: Primnproper on 10/03/2009 10:55:59 Can we please have a proper patch downlaod please, both of the links on the website only download poxy downloaders which do not work for me (damn corperate firewall) and really take the mickey, just give us a file which we can download once for installation on our many eve pcs FFS.
Especially as I'm at work trying to get the patch down so I can take it home and install once I finish.
Really really not impressed
EDIT
If you try the downloader and it fails it gives you this link
http://www.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1
Which you can download the full client from
Pity that you can't find that via the website. |

No thanks for forcing us to use this unfortunate piece of software.
Sadly, I live in New Zealand, where we have 3rd world internet (A 30kb/s connection to America and the rest of the world). This means that as soon as I'm forced to download something from overseas that does not allow me to use a download accelerator, I'm royally screwed. Using a download accelerator is fine, its just that any single connection is horrifyingly slow.
Now I'm considering leaving my computer here for the next 24 hours downloading the bloody thing, during which time (and its highly likely) something is going to happen to my modem forcing me to start-all-over-again.
Can't we just get a damn direct link to the patch file? PLEASE?

Same here. You should be able to download these files manually (they need to be in the same folder):
http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch75883-84244.exe http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVEPREMIUM.5.20.75883-6.10.83913.RTP http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch83913-84244.exe http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/EVEPREMIUM.6.10.83913-6.10.84244.RTP
EDIT: If you need them for several computers copy them before applying the patch because the patcher will delete the .rtp files. Also I added a link to the patcher from 83913->84244.

Another one here trying to actually download a full client or a full patch not a small file that downloads the patch/client for you.
At work atm and would like to take advantage of their fast net access.
Please give us the files.

Edited by: Troetelbeer on 10/03/2009 10:56:53 I can put it up as a bit torrent if I knew where the files were stored. I got a 6mbit uplink, aprox 750KB's real time, and i'm sure if people download they'll seed some.
EDIT: On a side note, I downloaded the patch from CCP servers at a speed of 6MB/s so nothing to complain there. !!

This doesn't really come under the 'Downloading' topic but it is the closest in the forums. Nevertheless, I can't even open Eve at the moment. I get the splash screen, the splash screen then disappears and Eve won't open up.

Edited by: Dragon Commander on 10/03/2009 11:00:03 Downloader works fine*, but i _need_ real offline version. Can you provide .torrent for whole install file?
* It always starts from 0 %/kb , even if it downloaded some MB before cancelling - is it intended behavior? No resume support? Edit: Oh, http://www.eveonline.com/download/?fallback=1 is _now_ pointing to whole file, thx :)

Edited by: Arthur Guinness on 10/03/2009 11:03:45 Damn CCP. All you had to do was put an option in the patcher to save the patch file instead of immediately install it. Then we would still use your little downloader, but would have the patch files for ourselves.

Can the full cient be downloaded at all? With a new expansion I'd rather install a fresh one than update an old one.

Any ideas?

Originally by: Maxine Morales Do you recommend patching the existing client or download the new client afresh? Or is there no difference?
The real difference is in download time. It's much easier and quicker to simply do the patches (there's a big one that's available now, and one or two that will occur when we open TQ).

The auto update went and deleted its files when it was done.
Success! Delete file: C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\Downloads\EVEPREMIUM.5.20.75883-6.10.83913.RTP Update applied successfully
Bad news if you need to install more than once. Going to try using the links Catari Taga posted.

update: manual patching seams to be working :).. But it will take me 4 + hours to find out do to my slow Internet living in the sticks. |

Very impressed. Auto-patcher maxed out my ADSL connection (18Mbps~=2MB/s) on both the desktop machine and the laptop so there's no issues with bandwidth currently. Still don't intend playing until one DT has gone past though
