For people who have issues with download errors and breakdowns, this is one solution. A program that continues the download when it happens to break down.
Download accelerator plus. (Set it to 1 download buffer instead of 3 if it asks for a password for downloading)

Uninstall when the download is done, unless you want to keep it. Personally i think it's the most annoying program ever due to the advertisements on it :P

Problem: Updater keeps saying "There was a temporary error downloading the required files."
Solution: ensure that you have at least 1389 MB of free disk space available on the partition where Windows (not EvE) is installed on.
=)
Was my first step too but still didnt work. Next i tried shutting down my firewall, then it worked well.

I am a steam user, and have not gotten to the point of installing yet, but will be soon and will update you on my experience. I can say when I first installed it from steam I got errors, but I just went into the client and deleted 3 steam files that were causing the errors and it worked fine (this was 2 weeks ago).
I'll update in a few minutes when I do this install.

I should have noted the Steam error but didn't. It was something about the files not matching and provided a link to download the full installer instructing me to reinstall Eve. Steam always screws up with the three directX files and netutil on patches but this time that wasn't an issue, the installer simply said it had failed, click finish. I said to myself "forget that" and just tried opening Eve and it worked. It then offered the 16mb update which also gave the same error. Again I ignored it and everything is fine.
edit: Again this error is presented in the patcher, Steam doesn't throw up any errors.

Hi,
i using the manual patch download from the patch section.
Running on a IBM Thinkpad T42 with XP and EvE clasic client.
After starting the evepremiumpatch75883-84244.exe i recive the following message:
Editions do not match. Found 'classic' when excepting 'premium'.
Please select another folder.
So i am unable to patch.

Ok, once again, patch day, and i can't find a single executeable file to download that is the next expansion, only little downloader programs that wanna download the patch immediately, patch it, then delete the files.
Can someone, PLEASE! help me get a single executeable file for the larger patch for Apocrphya, i need to patch over 3 computers and im not going to download the bastard 3 times and i don't particularly feel like just downloading it once, and copying the core EvE files to each computer as i will loose alot of settings.
So please! Where is a single executeable file that won't delete itself after download?

I got the same error when i had not enough space on my windows drive for the
patch file (1400MB).
First off, that doesn't even make sense, because it has a different error when you don't have enough room. Plus, I have 20gb on the drive I am trying to install in, which means that I have plenty of space, but I am getting the same error. I am trying to do the direct download of the file and bypass the installer, we'll see if it works...

patch like you normally would. You will download the client and have the option to switch from Premium to Lite.

Try when starting up EVE, right mouse click > run as administrator (temporarily)

i am probably blind but could you please put the link to the full patch(from 75883 to latest) (the one that said to be 1.35gb) for the windows premium graphic client ? i cannot find it on the eve download\eve patches\tranquility thing :(

so decided too beat the main rush and started too patch for apocrypha.
1.3gb
26KB/s download speed
Estimated time 14 HOURs+
yes my download takes as long as ccp patching a whole server. so anychance of opening the flood gates or stop traffic shaping so i can atleast get the first part of patch downloaded
any ideas from dev's too why download speeds are so slow.
i am in two minds if i should just cancel download its pointless downloading something thats taking longer than a CCP PATCH DAY. now at 14hr 38 mins and 26kb/s
im from uk and around 130 miles from server banks, upto 8mb connection speed. never had this problem before downloading from ccp.
ty for locking my post mr wrangler, instead you could have tried too help me with download speed problem

ALSO, i try logging in to get the patch download, but it keeps telling me that it cant connect to server and i must not have an internet connection. i guess this means that ill have to do a full install when the server is back online?

ah, so you only got the error when you tried opening with steam? We had that issue last time. That's good to know. Thanks :)

I have had no problem downloading the patch and applying it (it seems) to my main pc but downloading it to my laptop, although both are using the same 10mb connection, is taking forever.
That being said, I think it is a great concept to have this forum open for feedback and issues and I hope to see a similar concept for other patches.

Patching was snappy and successful from here in the US. No problems auto-patching Windows. Can't wait to try patching the Mac.
