Patch downloaded well, took around 10 minutes for the first patch and it installed without any issues. I am running an AMD Dual Core CPU with Windows XP Pro on a 1MB broadband cable connection.
Second patch went just as well. Every patch Ive seen so far (I have been playing eve since June of last year) has gone off without a hitch... Even the first attempts at Empyrean Age.
Nice work CCP Code Monkeys.

Hope for EVE Premium on Laptop
Originally by: Bish Ounen Ok, I have a laptop that WAS running the classic client. It is a Lenovo T60 with an ATI x1300 video card in it. According to the info given out it should run just fine on the Premium Lite client.
As per CCP instructions I upgraded to the Premium client BEFORE patch day so as to make the patch download smaller. I ended up downloading the patch linked in this thread. It installed without problems. When I attempted to RUN eve I was told by the client that my machine did not support it and the client closed. I never got to the login page. Just the splash screen and the error and closed. So unless there is a text file somewhere that I can edit to force Premium Lite I'm well and truly boned for playing eve on my laptop.
Umm... Hello? Is there something I need to do to select Premium Lite or is this a bug?
I made the switch to Premium last week on my 2 year old $750 Toshiba laptop with "Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family" graphics. If I remember right I made no switch ingame, I just could not check the full Premium graphics box on one of those ESC / Settings tabs. With just 1.5G RAM the Premium loads just slightly slower than the old Classic. Auto patch went okay for me an hour ago and I'm just waiting for the server to come up.
Don't give up until trying a fresh client install once you can access EVE's own website, maybe in a few hours. I wouldn't delete the old installation yet either. My auto patch to Apocrypha found its proper place without question or prompting even though I still have Classic installed in default "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE"
Luck & cya ingame o/

As a clarification to peoples downloading speed based on what their connection should be from their ISP.. Most if not all ISP's seel you by saying X.XMb/s speed. This is Megabits per second, not MegaBYTES, most you can tell the difference simply by looking for a MB/s, as opposed to the Mb/s.. see the difference? I have a 3.0Mb/s connection through my ISP and i am Downloading the patch at 187KB/s, which is fine 1.46 Mb/s, I'm not maxing out, but that should show why you dont seem to be either when looking at the different sizes being used

Ok,
I am running EVE Classic (or was!!), when I start EVE, it tells me that Tranquility is an incompatible version but no autopatcher starts. At all.
Looking at the links on the left for downloads, I cannot see the latest and greatest, it still offers EVE classic and says the latest version is 75883.
Strange because this worked for me on SISI...
The only change I have made between then and now is location, I am in Hong Kong on business. Could there be a cached ISP problem perhaps? Still doesn't explain the lack of an autopatcher.
Please help!! I have another 15 days in Hong Kong and that is too long without a fix of EVE.

Quote: Having tried to patch with the autopatcher and getting a fail (blocked by my network's firewall) I tried downloading manually. The manual patching seemed to corrupt my install so I attempted to manually download the full build after uninstalling my client. I recieved this error during the install Extracting EVE_Premium_Setup_84244.exe Extracting eveonline_84244.7z CRC failed in eveonline_84244.7z Unexpected end of archive I have repeated the download half a dozen times and am constantly getting this error message.
somes else posted this in a new thread which was locked with no reply but it effects me and one mate too, so rather than just locking stuff can we have some answers please or at least "were looking into it" ive now been capped by virgin media after wasting what speed i do get during the day and im not downloading this on a 2.5meg speed rather than 10meg if however the uploaded content wasnt screwed....

Yes! Those very links dont seem to be workable or useable. For one the latest build wont fully install. Secondly, the patches require a succesful install. Fail so far.

fix your computer before trying to do things that most ppl has done successfully OR state your comp specs and wait for a solution, also, client settings reside in a different location so they are probably in working condition

So all you peps out there in internet world have fun enjoying the inbound data. Will keep it seeded until the network Admins come banging down my door.

Is it expected behavior that the patcher (75883 - > 83913) will get stuck at "Creating download job"?
I've left it there several times for 20 or 30 minutes, and it doesn't change.
I'm downloading EVE_Premium_Setup_84244_m.exe and will have it downloaded in under 30 minutes.
Any suggestions?

dont expect a reply, just guess we have to put up with crappy customer service, and even worse patching
use the direct download links or one of the torrents for either the patch or the full client.

WHILE NOT REALLY APPROPRIATE FOR THIS PARTICULAR THREAD, APPARENTLY I HAVE TO POST IT IN HERE
First of all, we do appreciate the fact you have this reduced volume forum while the server is down. We also do appreciate the fact the bulk of the patch "volume" is available before server actually goes up. However, the METHOD of patch distribution is... not really optimal.
First off, your entire file-serving needs are on the Limelight Network (sp?), which normally perforsm admirably, but in times like this one, it is obvious it becomes overloaded and can't properly cope with people's bandwidth availability. I'm not saying we can't download the patch, I'm saying we're not downloading it as fast as we could. There might be a minority that can't download the patch properly (download managers causing trouble because they can't resume downloading, patcher not resuming download either but starting from zero, insanely slow internet speeds or whatnot), but I'm not talking about them.
So the question is : why not also have an official TORRENT for the patch ? It couldn't hurt to have an OFFICIAL torrent of the patch up, it doesn't even have to be from some high-bandwidth machine at all, I mean, that was the whole point of bittorrent in the first place, you don't need a big bandwidth to distribute the same (large) file to many people in a short amount of time safely even if people have slight connection problems.
Yes, I am aware some people already put up unofficial torrents of the patch (as in, the first page), but it's just not the same.

Why ccp removed the ability to simply choose manual download of the full build is beyond me, yet leave manual downloading of patches. Not everyone wants to use a torrent. You want to download the full build you have to use the installer, which has been running for an hour here, telling me i need to wait another 5, for a job that should have taken 1.
What's worse, is that you can actually manually download but it's listed as a fall back, quite why ccp think manual download over the internet is not common practice these days is a mystery to me. The only way to manually download the full build, is use the dam patcher then either wait for it to fail or cancel to get the most basic functionality every other company on the internet provides.
