Greetings Im not usually on the forums much, but Ill be happy to throw in a little sunshine.
1. I can appreciate the RL gaming-market, as being a hard, competitive place, where you dev¦s constantly tries to keep up on your options to expand and make the economy work. Jebus knows, that CCP is one of the most ambitious outfits out there, imo. I like that, personally. I also realize, that to be that ambitious, has a lot of pro¦s and con¦s. Mostly short-termed. The more ambitious, the more likely it is to fail or go astray, at some point. We can accept, that that is the reality, or try to change it productively, Like miss Pann suggests. An option we should heed, if we want this game to go on, in any shape or form. Or we can keep demanding the impossible; that CCP is flawless and only exist to humor every single player equally. Not a realistic prospect, in my experience. 2. It seems that CCP takes our input VERY serious, from my chair. But its not fair to assume, that they will have a chance to answer all questions, all the time, to any pilot making a point. No game-dev in the world, can boast of such a thing. Like I said, I like the ambitions of this sci-fi-classic. We may wait a while longer, till its all fantastic, with no errors or stupid new things, but if CCP means to stay in buisness, they will understand that. As they have in the past. At least on most points. 3. And a little praise to miss Pann: Its a very noble gesture, to throw yourself on the bon-fire. Good leadership, there, Miss Pann. Its encouraging to see. Keep that up. I just hope the carnivores out there, appreciate it too. 4. Just dont forget the guys with sucky PC¦s, marketeers and the general bulk of EVE¦ers out there, and youll be fine. And do reconsider the MT. It counter-sandbox-thinking, which would harm the game, beyond repair. But this is just an analysis, from a layman.
Keep making this game better to play. And get rid of the veritable "turd in the sandbox" Kind regards Wotan, the not so disgruntled

Please think. Read how this whole hype began. Then go through it slowly and carefully. And you see the rage which is venting there is indeed based on "wide theories" you created.
Thats ladies and gentlemen is called brainstorming without borders. You done it.
If you think that after this they gonna do exactly the thing you predicted and raged over, than i am sorry you cannot be helped.
If you think that was kind of productive, and will await positive outcome you are welcome.
Now appolgise where its due. And CCP free those you banned over this. Thank you in advance.
I may be naive. But Hope is just imaginary. So its up to you.

Thanks CCP
the devblog made perfect sense to me, it was an internal memo where employees got to post what if scenarios based on the current mmorpg market of EVERY GAME moving to microtransactions.
Eve FPS game Team Fortress 2 just went free 2 play with microtransactions
So easy peasy...
Ignore the Tards and back to business as usual, cancelled accounts mean nothing when there are more than twice the amount of plexes purchased per hour than accounts that will cancel |

"This week has seen quite a controversy unfold. In almost the same instant as we deployed Incarna - which by the way is one of our more smooth and successful expansions, not to mention absolutely gorgeous - an internal newsletter with rather controversial topics addressed leaked out. To further compound the confusion there was a clear and rather large gap in virtual goods pricing expectation and reality with a large segment of the community. Iæm going to address both these issues right here."
- CCP Zulu
Aren't you missing something? Like THE OVERWHELMING DESIRE FOR US PLAYERS TO HAVE THE OLD HANGER VIEW BACK AND HAVE THE CQ AS A "DISEMBARK" BUTTON! Seriously, did you guys even read ANY threads?
Now, regarding the internal document:
"The opinions and views expressed in Fearless are just that; opinions and views. They are not CCP policy nor are they a reliable source of CCP views as a company. The employees who submitted articles to that newsletter did exactly what they were asked to do, write about theories and opinions from an exaggerated stand."
What the hell does this even mean? Did you not see the millionth post asking for confirmation that WE DO NOT WANT REAL MONEY TRANSFER FOR IN-GAME PROGRESSION/ADVANTAGE!? How the HELL is that not answered?
As far as I'm concerned you totally BLEW over the TWO MAIN issues we wanted to have dealt with.
1) An answer to "Are you EVER going to use aurum for an in game advantage/progression" (via internal document)?
2) We want our OLD hanger view back!
After reading the response, I'm extremely upset. No one even cared that much about the damn monocle prices! Did you read the posts? We were mocking the idea of EVEN buying it in the FIRST place!
This is fail. 3 accounts still unsubbed. Sadface.

I think someone in the help channel just summed it up perfectly.
Condensing tripe.
Senior producer? You should really leave responding to the public to the PR guys, because your writing will only anger people more. It has, in fact. Really, to be honest I was expecting a more mature response than this. It feels like the guy who wrote this put a lot of personal opinion in his writing and is clearly in disgust over the player reaction to the new items for money system.
Certainly lower prices, and probably higher? Higher? You're mad. It... really I almost have no words for such audacity.
If the monthly subscription went away, and the game was made free to play, i could understand.. but 30-60$ for some pixel crack is just inexcusable really.
In fact, look at some of those free to play game and their microtransaction systems and you'll see they are a lot more realistic about prices than whoever just invented this AUR system in EVE.
You're trying to do: "expensive items, very low sale count", while you should have gone for "normal/cheap items, high sale count" instead.
Blizzard is able to get away with "mounts and pets for 10-19 euros", but ships as the rumor goes in eve, is a central point of the game.
It probably won't stop there though, and no player is going to accept more than a few of the current changes unless the monthly subscription is changed or removed entirely. We play a monthly fee to get a certain level of service and new features. If those features are getting locked behind a fake new currency system, then players will - as you have found out, get upset.
I hope some people at CCP are getting fired over some of the current craziness, but I have my doubts. Market research exists for a reason, be sure to use it.
Also, get a dictionary and look up "micro", you clearly do not understand what a "microtransaction" is and how it works. Obviously it's not "pay an arm and a leg to get something that is only for vanity". Microtransactions, hello ? Micro - it means small, not three months worth of subscription.

A thousand times this.
I WANT clothes, i WANT ship skins, i WANT to put my corp logo on my ship.
NO, i do NOT want to pay extra money for it. ISK? Sure. Enough isk to fund my own gameplay for three months? Go to hell
Originally by: Jade Constantine [Yellow]Sure when you have been playing Eve as long as we have you learn to take the rough with the smooth but you do so with the general feeling that CCP developers understand and ôgetö what makes Eve great û and thatÆs the problem now. This internal newsletter (if real) shows that one of the leading developers does not ôget eveö does not care about eve, and simply sees eve as a cash cow to be milked ferociously to fund other projects. This is about keeping the golden goose of eve subscriptions (on a drip feed if necessary) while chasing and grubbing every little loose cent he can from the player base.
Let me give you a couple of examples of how this can and does (and has already) impacted our enjoyment of this game:
1. The Captains Quarters û itÆs not gameplay its a display cabinet for vanity items. And the price of this display cabinet for you and I is that multi-client performance in stations is now terrible û if you have a bad graphic card itÆs a jerk fest û if you have a decent graphics card itÆs heat-fest. I can run 3-4 clients with CQÆs turned on û I can run it smoothly û but do I want to? Hell no because my Gtx 580 sounds like its melting my motherboard now! So I need to turn off the CQÆs on multiple accounts and as a result have more limited functionality on those accounts and an ugly wallpaper. No more station environment, no more clicking on my ship to open cargo hold, no more dragging ship to the hanger to board it. The delivery of the CQ vanity item display case has impacted my gameplay.
CCP could have made it optional and given us the option of keeping the old hanger view and added a ôdisembark shipö option to the UI but ôoh noö to do that would have meant we werenÆt being forced to look the vanity display case that marketing insisted must be front and centre if weÆre to even think about buying these ridiculously overpriced items from the Noble store.
2. If you read the newsletter youÆll see reference to saved fitting slots û and I donÆt know about you Verone but in JF weÆve run out of saved corp ship fittings. We want CCP to up the limit but is that really going to happen while the ôbiz-devsö talk honeyed words about how to squeeze extra income from players for such ôminor upgrades.ö? How long till we pay aurum for extra corp standing slots? For wardec options? For a usable corp management screen?
3. And who develops these vanity items? Yes thats right its Eve artists and developers whose salary we pay with our subscriptions. Given the choice wouldnÆt you rather have engine trails and flashy cyno effect for all players rather than a bunch of overpriced tat in the Aur store for a fleeced few?
Because that is precisely the compromise being made here -> CCP using our subs money to pay for vanity item production they want to sell back to us for greedy prices and it is something you SHOULD get mad about.
So hereÆs the thing.
The time to fight for the game we love is not in six months time when these concepts have bedded down and CCP is feeling bold enough to start selling Noble Faction ammo and +9 implants. The time to fight is now. Because this newsletter embodies everything that many of us feared but didnÆt want to believe CCP were becoming capable of. It is a massive betrayal of the compact we shared as players and developers of this game and indicates that CCP is preparing to leap down a very dark and deep path of self-immolation in the months to come.
I donÆt want to see Eve Online die Verone. That sounds dramatic I know, but gameworlds die when the dreams and visions are extinguished and that can happen through a succession of bad ideas foisted on a community by people who really donÆt have much of a clue in business.[/ ____________

The question still remains Zulu...
What is meant by other items??? If you mean ships ammo and faction standings than thats crap because it breaks the game!!!

This says one thing.. CLEARLY
CCP has a plan, they are executing on it, doesn't matter how far customers flex a little. CCP doesn't care, it is their time table and their demise.
No sense in fighting what is already comming, let em screw it up, it's just a game for us, it is a job for them, which is now at greater risk, we have no risk to take. Let em screw themselves.

The tens of thousands of players protesting this farce should be enough of an indicator of just how much damage you've done to your reputation with this. If you think that laughable "apology" devblog has done anything other than do further harm then you're insane.
At the minimum heads are going to have to roll for this. They may have been ordered to write it and yeah they may have to be scapegoats but you need to fire anyone who thinks RMT for in game advantages is anything other than a terrible, game destroying scourge.
You want the big league cash flow you need to deal with big league ramifications for such colossal blunders such as this. This isn't the old days when you were small and things like the T20 debacle could go unpunished and the dev gets to keep his job.
If people aren't losing their job over this then you can expect a drop of 30-50k subscribers over the next month.

Quote: launch of incarna BS
Sorry, most of us don't want just one CQ, should have gotten us more then just a minnie CQ. Yeah it went smooth, with gd knows how much delay that screwed us EU players over. Sorry, there are smoother launches.
Quote: Fearless CCP Zulu talks about fearless and more BS...
The fact something like this has leaked should already make you wonder about how your own employees think or feel, no disrespect to them. Also the moment it was leaked forum threads started to pop up and yet you hardly responded and actually had to call Pann and have her make a parley post, days after it was posted. This is something that cannot happen or be done and you and the rest of the crew should be ashamed it has come to this.
It's uncalled for for any company to keep their memberbase in the dark this long or wait for so long with a response. Even tho alot of eve players hate the Blizzard and their themepark MMO, they are more forthcoming then CCP.
Don't keep your fanbase in the dark, you are losing subs most likely because of all of this and you can only blame yourself for it, lack of communication...
Quote: CCP Zulu talks about NEX Pricing and claiming we should compare it to IRL prices...
You are sorely mistaken, you think it's okay to go for a $60 monocle and compare it to real life? are you this far removed from reality? sorry to say it but you need to rethink your pricing structure (and maybe talk to some other companies who are doing the same, NCSoft, Blizzard to name a few. They are doing vanity items for a cheaper price and altough still maybe expensive it's working for them.
$60 for a Monocle, never in my life will I pay for it, be it by isk, Aurum or normal cash, never!
Rethink it, asap. ---
