As for whether I'm a CCP plant - not so much.
Why the jump from 50 to 331?
I'm really just curious.

Lets say that the new incoming crowd of players loves the idea of being able to purchase wtfpwn guns from the NEX. They buy said guns and what's left of the player base happily ganks said noob and loots the new $hiney wtfpwn guns.
The first thing that is going to happen is that newb is going to raise holy hell that he paid cash for those guns and it isn't fair that he lost them so quickly and will refuse to buy more because its a waste of money.
Do you think CCP will protect the old dinosaur player that is damaging its new revenue stream or will rush in to protect the bottom line?
What actions do they have available to protect that revenue stream from drying up?
Exactly.

Basically they were checking how the players would react when they would introduce these booster for AUR, cause if no one complain when everyone got 6 per account then they wouldn't complain when everyone could by them for $1 a pop.
Makes you think about the sp injection system too dosen't it.
That's what lead to one of the older dev comments about no plans for MTs, if I remember correctly.

Honestly if think the new non-vanity items will be "contraband".
I think that was the purpose of the Quafe Zero coming out of left field... to test player reaction.
We were promised an update to contraband and i think were about to get it in the form of MT.

This is one of the major /facepalms about the whole thing as well. P2W is paying for instant gratification, EVE is not an instant gratification game, and knowledge is power, because someone who knows what they are doing can solo a battleship in a rifter if the battleship pilot doesn't know the game mechanics.

I, too, cancelled my subscription. It was due on 17 of July. I think the only thing that can save us is if the big investors begin to review their set of values. Wasted development resource... what a shame. What a bunch of greedy ****

I think that this is what they are alluding to as well.
Which is pretty disgusting to me because it will make the player based drug manufacturing a real joy, won't it?

They already did this with the vanity items. At first they were pod-destroyable, a few people started to point out how this will effect the entire marginal utility equation and usefulness of the store at all, and before you know it, poof - Non-destructible magic teleporation pants. No wonder they cost $1000. (Just wish I had had those when a certain young lady I had met forgot to mention that she was married, but enough about me...)

After the $h!t storm that happened, CCP will still go to P2W. It will probably be effects like:
1) 2k Aurum for 30 days of +2% skill points. 2) 5k Aurum for 30 days of +5% shield regen.
Something that you can't see on the target ship or salvage from the loot. That way, they don't have to listen to to little Johnny 12 year old complain about loosing his l33t P2W gun to a suicide gank in Jita.
It will happen. If they say they won't, they are lying. Look at all the damn money that the web portal games are getting from MT. The shareholders want some of that cake too... CCP will have to give in to them and they are willing to lose some of the base to it.
Pricing models change. They will ram this one down on us.

When I decided to dust the script off again the thread was at 380ish. I personally wanted to see if there was a pattern or difference between who was posting at the start of the thread (the first 50) vs more recently (the last 50). The number of unique posters didn't decline between the two as much as I thought it would, which was surprising. I then did a full run through 380 because I felt that would be the most interesting list to most people.

This is already evident. The clothing items were supposed to be destroyed when you were podded. Now they aren't because people complained.

Totally in Top Posters.
I don't normally post this much though. Was exactly on 50.
3561 Posters is a significant number.
This issue wouldn't have been as big if they communicated from the start of the matter. They self-prophesized this reaction into existence.

Really strange isn't it. Especially when CCP say "we'd like people to be able to pay for that convienience".
Pay for convienience in a game where the sticky bit is the time investment.......
Switch to F2P/P2W with DUST recruitment of 12yos and it all perfect makes.

I would love to see someone make actual sentences from this word cloud.
you can read those sentences throughout this thread, this just shows you the most used words and the basic gist of it.
it isnt meant to convey a single though, its meant to convey the most used words that relay a message. look at it closely and you will see the bigger picture. _______________________ Hottest Character Ever. |

IÆm tearing away Pieces are falling I canÆt seem to make them stay You run away Faster and faster you canÆt seem to get away Break Hope thereÆs a reason For questions unanswered I just donÆt see everything Yes IÆm inside you Tell me how does it feel to feel like this Just like I do I donÆt care about anyone else but me I donÆt care about anyone Do I really want this Sometimes I scare myself I just canÆt let it go Can you believe it Everything happens for reasons I just donÆt know I donÆt care about anyone else but me I donÆt care about anyone I donÆt care about anyone else but me I donÆt care about anyone or anything but me God damn I love me

Besides that I'd would have preferred it if CCP either made it possible to get the vanity items through A LOT of in-game work (IE: a LP store Item [And getting rid of the NeX] or had LP convertible to Aur), had them available for purchase the in-game market for ONLY ISK(getting rid of the NeX and Aur BS all together), or just getting rid of the NeX and vanity items all together. But you know that's just me.
