Most of what i think has been said many times already in this thread.
I would just like to add two things...
This is a game about spaceships... that's what the vast majority of the player base are interested in. The focus of development has not be about spaceships for years now and this needs to change.
We (the players) pay for EVE development, Dust development and WOD development with our subscriptions and we are not getting value for money. Adding MT which takes away development time which we are funding to make items which we have to pay for is just wrong. Developing vanity shops, items and environments at the expense of neglecting the core game is wrong. The direction CCP is heading is wrong.
Without a drastic U-Turn in attitude to development then the future of EVE is very uncertain.

Oh, there's ways to it. I'm talking legal action. Introducing MT like they are planning to will invalidate years of meaningful gameplay, thus years of subscription fees. At this point, reasonable conduct just falls on dead silence. Hit them where it hurts.
Legal action huh,
Please explain...

Wow.... Big SQL query just run on the forums, looped the CPU for at least 30sec and thread moves back a bunch of posts.
Seems they are just running queries with mixes of keywords.
So I wonder what they deleted?
Haha f-ck them. Thread isn't going away.

Quite. Comparing her situation to Tiggs on the SoE boards is absurd. One spoke for as well at to the players, the other is 'just a mouthpiece'.
Also, 90 fucking pages?
I never compared Pann with Tiggs. I compared this game with SWG. Both games now have histories of not listening to the player base to a point of implosion.
Tiggs fought for the community and lost her job for it.
Super happy that she found a great home at Fallen Earth as their Comm. Mgr. Maybe I should go there...

CCP Pann. Action is required. Your words are all well and good, but I think they are in no way even starting to be enough to convince me at this point. What is required is a high level response addressing the issues. At the very least there needs to be a statement that Aurum will not be used, in the foreseeable future, for in game benefit of any other kind than vanity items.
Furthermore CCP needs to re-evaluate the whole development agenda of Eve. The game is what we pay for to play. Your money grabbing employees have already significantly hurt this your main product. Firing some of them would be a welcome message and it would go a long way to restore the faith that indeed, CCP too does see Incarna as a mistake.
If all we see is damage control, I am afraid that only confirms that CCP has lost touch of its player base. We are adults - CCP designed the game for us and it used to suit us. No amount of damage control will be enough without real and verifiable action to back it up. Mark my words, CCP, the future of this game and thus your company hangs in balance at this very moment.

Dear CCP Pann,
Kudos for stepping in. We can forgive you for delivering a half a*sed expansion. We can forgive you for loading times, crappy char steering, and we can forgive you for selling a pixel shirt for more dollars than a real one.
But we (or at least i) won¦t forgive you for implanting game breaking mechanics (selling ammo, ships). MT for VANITY items it was. VANITY ITEMS.

Well not really...
I got two options for that. Both of them you wont like. But what can i do. I mean that leaked document made some horrendous RAGE on the forums. Yet the purpose of that document is still unknown. Aka i made one time an document proving all human beings are basically *****s/for sale. You got an idea you project it far enough. Is it correct .. NO .. its just projection to extreme version.

Originally by: CCP Pann The newsletter was not fake. I guess this is how it feels when someone reads your diary, something you hadn't intended anyone else to see. Not to deflect the heat but to explain why what I'm about to say, I wasn't involved with writing it. The only reason I mention that is because I am not going to presume to know the minds of the people who did have comments in there. I am not going to throw people I love under the bus or to the lions or whatever. I can't/won't answer questions about what they said or why they said it.
Our newsletters are written as a means to bring about discussion (that sometimes can even become heated debate) among our coworkers. That's really all I can say about it. I am not a game designer. I'm a mouthpiece. I'll admit it. By the time I get involved, the decisions have been made. Not making excuses for myself, just explaining.

Edited by: Illwill Bill on 24/06/2011 11:00:32 I'm going to see if I can write something here without the post drowning in the threadnaught.
First of all: Thank you, Pann and Manifest. I know you two aren't responsible for all this, and that you are doing your jobs.
Anyway, the dinosaurs don't seem to be giving up easily - while CCP apparently wants to introduce microtransactions for non-vanity items, it seems fairly obvious that the players aren't interested.
This isn't about your unfinished CQ beta, your client killing people's computers for the nth time or about 70 USD monocles - this is about CCP letting everyone down. We all know how serious business Eve is, and when you make statements as Shadow did a year ago, you are expected to commit to that. And if you change your policies, you should at least be open about it. After all, this affects pretty much all of your customers.
You want to make money with vanity items? Fine, but look at what has been requested the last eight years, and stop with the Barbie-stuff! I'd bet you would make much more money off a 0.99Ç EoM paint job for the Apocalypse than you will ever make off those monocles. And for crying out loud, get rid of that buggy store, and use the LP store code. It's there and it's functional. If you improve on that code, both stores would benefit.
I'd unsub if I didn't already pay with PLEX. Now I'm just not going to renew again. Thank you, CCP! It's been four good years.

Nope. They got a bit tight on what their devs could do in-game and the arms-race ended.
Many may not agree with me but I think the failing of CCP goes back this far. Lost their buzz for it.
