Just a heads up: patching failed on both my OSX machines with a python error that I stupidly didn't copy down. This is probably related to the stalled installs mentioned above, only theirs died quietly while mine spat out error windows.
Restarting the launcher and trying again made it work (on one of them, still going on the second). GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Both are Windows 7 64 bit
One is ultimate one is home premium
EDIT: Restarting the launcher seems to work..... |

Radial menu on first icon in route display
is not working when target is a station and you are about to jump to the system the station is in. The menu offers "set destination" instaed of "jump".

I leave Eve up all the time on this box -- so I get patches to the game which attempt to update both the game client and the launcher, but fail because the launcher is still running (in what use case would the game be running but the launcher wouldn't) and I receive the following in my logs:

To fix, all I have to do is shut down the game and upon attempting to log into the launcher again (as my token will have likely expired), it pulls down the full update and applies as expected.
My recommendation is to look at the workflow for when an update is detected by the game client and log the user out of the game client -- the same as if the server's had gone offline -- then, upon exit, have the launcher recognize (through poll or push) that there is an update and begin the download.
This is such an edge case, I wouldn't recommend too much engineering time spent on it, but I wanted to report it so you guys could track the issue.
Thank you for the update. I'm excited to dig in. And by the way, I think its awesome you guys are a python shop. |

Launcher was a bit slow but worked ok for me.
However, when logging into the game, my client freezes and crashes every time i either dock or undock. have to relog to get back in the game (and find myself either undocked or docked depending on what i tried to do). So its playable, but VERY annoying |

As a bonus your download speed is at snail pace, so this is really annoying.

Okkkies im in....and im running my daily Angel Extrav L4 that ive been saving all this week
Some things ive noticed....first AWSOME that my Shield Boost Med t2 is now 104 instead of 90....nice...but my cap is DRAINING hardcore...I was cap stable in my Tengu.....ooookkiies....
The other is a reload bug...instead of 10 sec to reload my novas, their insta reloading(this isnt always but sometime) kinda awsome when I switch to precision but um..that's kinda a HUGE bug pvp ;D
Lastly....targetting rectictle is REALLLY bugged..the lines drawn from outside the targetting circle go off into infinity...forever.....wtf? and if i place my camera juuust right, where the line takes up 1/3 of my screen it Whites out half that screen....I've never seen this before until today and trust me..I play alot.
My system gets about 61fps and i regularly TRIBOX on it, i went to my second system and it does the same thing....so its definately a bug since thats an nvidia, and my main system is a AMD Radeon 6k series
I figure this isnt the best place to post this, so sorry bout that but anyone else notice this?
The cap stable to being 2:24m on shield boosting with lvl V skills in a tengu is odd too.....suggestions?

Well, I'm on a business trip in Saudi and copied the game code from PC to laptop to keep me entertained here.
Downloaded patch file and got stuck on installing the patch. Restarted launcher, which downloaded the patch file again and got stuck again installing it.
So now I'm repairing which downloads the patch, again, even though it's sitting in root. Does the repair tool check for patch files in the root directory or does it purely sync online with CCP?
I'd much rather have the ability to download the patch file, and use repair to integrate it than having to go through the launcher's win/loose mechanic of deploying a patch. |

Experienced some issues with the drone window.
I launched some drones and after a bit, I recalled them. The drone window (and the header of the window) still shows the group window for those appearing to be out in the space (although no drones show up under the group).
The header also shows 5 drones out of max 5 in space (although none are).
I relaunch my drones, and nothing changes in the Drone window, although the overview shows the drones are in space, playing happily along. The drones are not showing at all in the Drones in space part of the Drone window so I have no way of assessing any damage to my drones.
In other words, it appears that something made the Drone window stop updating. Also, after recalling my drones, the group still shows them as out in space, so I can not relaunch without going to the drone bay and selecting the drones and choosing Launch.

Patch downloaded and stuck at 0% applying, after some 30 mins I closed it and any further attempt wants to re-download the patch again.
I can see the EVE_Online_590158-598940_win.patch in folder at about 946mb.
Unfortunately i am on a low bandwidth connection now and downloading it again will take an extremely long time, is there anything that can be done to extract the patch file? |

Submitted, but the site does not give back an ID. So it's hard to reference it. There is no way to track them from user side, so for me it seems the whole bug tracking system is a step back. |

rebuilding the launcher is another way to fix the 'stuck at applying patch' issue.
i did this by launching the client [eve.exe] directly -- which then detected the incompatible release and the outdated launcher -- it replaced the launcher and then started the required eve patch.

Maybe this could help:
I have eve on 2 PCs and I got home a while ago and read this thread before starting eve.
In one PC it had all the problems people are saying, because it was the PC I had installed EVE as most people would, and it is in the Program Files folder. I just opened EVE as I would normally. It still not running.
The second PC is a "copied only" from the first PC (I did not installed EVE, just copied and added a shortcut). It worked fine in the first attempt. |

Notify: you have lost target lock on XXXXXXXXX. All modules being used on their vessel will be deactivated.
I think this message will be rather annoying in general when in a large fight popping a trgt every time your guns cycle. |

I have had this problem for every major update for years, and I found it to be MY OWN DAMN FAULT.
1: Right Click your LAUNCHER SHORTCUT. 2: Run as ADMINISTRATOR.
It seems that without admin privs it can download the patch and then Windows will refuse it access to change things. I have found that this fixed the problem for me every single time. I am by no means saying this will work for you, nor am I responsible if your computer explodes when you try this. |

Good idea :), although the patch installer should really cover this and if it is the case I am sure there would be a lot more people reporting. I am can see files written to the install folder so not sure what extra permission it would require assuming it is files only. Still in future i think ill make sure i'm on a nice connection in case i need to 'retry' and take the softly softly approach.

Believe me I thought it did too. I see it writing files as well, but I'm still saying that for the last few major updates, running as admin has fixed my issues.
Perhaps it's because of the fact that my client is on a drive separate from my OS drive, which gets reinstalled frequently. Perhaps the drive I have it on has messed up permissions, I really don't care either way. All I know is that this simple thing has fixed my issues.
I am also in the slow connection club and it's extremely irritating when a patch that took ~3 hours to download fails and then refuses to do anything but download it all again. But like I said, it was my own fault, and that did fix it. |

Again guys, for those trying to apply patch, restart your launcher with admin privileges and try it again.
Repair.exe runs with extended privs by default as I can tell, and that may or may not be why it's working for people. So try both. |

While it has been pointed out already, the launcher stopped for me and restarting it worked like a charm afterwards. No need to download the patch again or anything of that sort: obtain patch, launcher stops, restart launcher, patch applies, game running smoothly.

I started exefile.exe as usual this morning, and it got stuck. It sat there "checking status" indefinitely. When there is a patch, it usually tells me so, and pulls down a 6 MB file and executes it, initiating the update process.
That did not work, so I ran repair.exe. NOTHING. Not even a flicker on the screen.
So I ran the launcher, and I got a white box with a black stripe on the top that says "Eveonline Launcher V2.1.571330." Thats it. No complete launcher screen, and no downloads.
I killed the exefile.exe, and started it again. Again it sat there stuck in "checking status"
When I tried repair.exe again, then it started to come alive. Repair complained that exefile.exe was holding a file that repair wanted to touch, so I closed exefile. Then repair complained that the launcher was holding a file that it wanted to update, so I closed the white box that is the launcher.
Now repair.exe is busily downloading stuff-- 3.3% of 751.24MB complete...
Now was there an easier way to do that ? :-)

Also wondering about the set destination primary option. Its greyed out for the sun and not there for belts in system. Why not just make it an active primary for both of those? |

Seem Signatures on the map DO NOT refresh position/status once scanned down to red dots.
Tested this by scanning down sig to red dot level, then moved probes away from location, rescan, and signature information remains but at 0% strength, but window for message of "No Signatures Detect" is displayed, even though signature is still displayed as a red dot on the map.
Don't know if this is a glitch or new "feature" of Odyssey scanning.
Can cause multiple results of the same signature to be displayed. |

When flying into a new system the route/system info takes ages to appear. I assume this is a bug since it means you can warp 3 seconds faster by using overview as opposed to right clicking on route (which seems like a mistake). |

Tried multiple times on my 3 systems.
1. time - normal update, downloaded patch, stuck at applying patch 2. time - run as administrator, downloaded patch, stuck at applying patch 3. time - In progress, now running repair on all 3 systems...
Had the same issue last time there was a major patch- I believe it was related to download server 1 being overloaded or something and I managed to grab the files of server 2, then copy from there to my other systems.
Would be awesome if this was working and I wasn't wasting time getting it to work... luckily I have free bandwidth - would have been costly to pay for 9+ times patching.
System spec 1 Intel i7-3820 CPU @ 3,6 gHz 24 GB memory Windows 7 64-bit EVE running on SSD.
Other 2 systems are 2-3 years older, running on SSD & normal HDD.
(Any feedback at all from CCP would be awesome, even a "we don't know why") |

First time the client downloaded the patchfile (590158-598940) it was about 750mb in size (can't temember exactly how big). Patching stuck at 0.0%. Restarted the client, it now downloaded the same patchfile again, but this time the file is 2 x large (1,575,445 Kb). Patching now works ok. |

But when I restarted the launcher (it wants to download the patch again) and try to import the file I saved, it imports the patch and stops again

um yeah that doesn't work for everyone, I've restarted mine four times now and they all failed....so I ran the repair.exe tool and it stopped after 3/7 steps and said it was complete. Now I can't open the launcher, or the exe.exe file.
So now I am reinstalling the client....

OK, so got stuck too at applying patch, not at 0 but a 100%. Was really pissed off about having to redownload the patch all over again, then i noticed that in the launcher settings there's a "patch" tab where i could unclick "delete patch after use" and where i could export the said patch. I'm not sure but i could maybe help the ones with 3 or 4 applying issues... My internet is a slow ass motherf*cker also so i sympathize with all the unlucky. Now that this "small" hickup is passed, time to go face the trizillions of small and less small bugs in the game itself... Gotta love CCP ;) |

ok i know that pulse lasers were not affected by latest patch but before the patch went live i took a screen shot of fitting on some of my ships for new rep amount. My legion is pulse laser fitted and before patch it had falloff range of 27km and optimal range of 22 with conflag but now its got 16 and 11.
i just docked up and 3 of the 5 were showing old values but 2 were showing lower values. I have just tried undocking and looking at values again ( with tactical overlay on and they are showing the lower values still!!
yes the client has been restarted and i did unfit and refit the guns and its still the same can you explain this please?
Also i have had to download updates twice to get them to work on 3 clients!! And running as admin made no difference. |

Alright my client finally says ready after applying for quite some time. I did say my own solution may or may not work for you, so I'm not surprised it doesn't work for a number of people. Anyway my experience was like this:
- Normally launch game from launcher shortcut, begins 700ish MB download. - 2.5 hours later, gets stuck at applying 0%. - Closed launcher, ran with admin rights, starts at "creating patch". - Noticed creation of patch was real slow, opened network monitor, found launcher downloading again. -1.5 hours later, got to 40% patch creation, switched to applying patch, done without any more hiccups.
Not sure if it helps anyone but I do suggest checking your task manager for network use if the client says anything other than ready and you aren't sure what it's doing.
Absolutely glad I had Saits Row IV to play while waiting on the download... twice :) |

uninstalled/reinstalled finally worked after i had to manually clean the registry of all ccp program indications.
the win 7 machine finally worked after looping the client 4 times, the windows 8 machine had to have the registry rebuilt.
so lets see here hmm another 3 to 4 hours fkn wasted fixing ccp's fkups... now to login and discover new bugs, after rebuilding my overviews ofc.. wouldnt be a complete patch if i didnt have to rebuild overviews...

Had the same issue, started the launcher a zillion times, the only way it worked was by:
1) Run the launcher as normal, get the patch file name above the process bar and find the actual file on you pc while its downloading / patching (file probably called GÇ£EVE_Online_590158-598940_win.patchGÇ¥ under your EVE program folder).

This gets even better. After several failed attempts at running as admin, using repair, downloading the patch again, etc; I just uninstalled the client. Now the idea was to just download all 18 gigs again and be done with it. (note this is not a cheap option because I also have download limits) Now the setup launcher stops a few seconds after accepting the TOS. Apparently CCP doesn't want people to have software. |

deleting the files worked for me perfect, many thanks.
note i also had a smaller filer circa 200 MB from a failed d/l so I just deleted that as well. |

Issue with the Tayra (PC, Windows 7 64-bit):
When warping with the tracking camera active, the Tayra ship model does not stay in position relative to where the on-screen tracking position is set. For example, if I jump through a gate and immediately warp to the next gate on my route, the tracking camera pans to the next gate (say ~70 degrees to the right), but my view of the ship doesn't sync with the tracking camera until several seconds have passed. Initially, the ship moves completely off the screen to the left, and then slowly moves to the right during the warp, eventually settling at the on-screen position I have set relative to the the tracking camera position.
I tested a few other ships (Thrasher, Raven, Thorax) on two different accounts, and problem only seems to apply to the Tayra.
Not a big deal, but obviously not working as intended. |

I think the issues with the launcher may be client end. I didn't have a problem with the installation of the new patch. The only issues that I did run into was that after downloading, it didn't want to apply at first. So I closed my launcher and reopened it, and it worked just fine. Eve is running just fine, and everything is gravy. Except for the occasional issues that I have with graphics, but I suspect that this issue is on my end.
I would also like to point out something that may have been overlooked with the renaming of some of the indy ships. The Viator is the T2 version of the newly named Nereus, yet if you look in the description tab, it says that it's an Iteron Class hull. Not exactly an issue; just a small little something that I noticed. Though, it has occured to me that it was left that way intentionally for some reason. Perhaps as a monument of some sort dictating that the new ships are all "Iteron Class", though they are no longer "Iterons"? |

Same problem as already reported on 2 systems, both Windows 7, 64 bit, one on Home Premium one on Ultimate. Download finishes but installing just sits at 0% - using Task Manager shows the Launcher as active but CPU usage just stays at zero. Have ended the launcher and restarted both machines and download starts again from about 50% (what happened to the rest ?) Waiting to see whether it completes the install this time.

Funny how that fine print seems insignificant until a tiny detail you've overlooked has a negative impact on your game lol.
I'd best restock my cap booster inventory.
Oh and the launcher of course froze at 100% downloading, manually restarted the launcher, downloaded patch again and it applied fine on the second attempt.

Gone are those days when low bandwith and high latency didn't affect the joy of playing EvE.
Let's hope and pray that some day i'll manage to download the whole patch without a single disconnect...
Maybe you want to add some features like "peer2peer" to your launcher as some providers block p2p-connections. Would be a great possibility to not only lock out users with limited and/or low bandwith but many other users, too. And a p2p feature would be a great opportunity to implement a whole bunch of new bugs to the launcher.

If a member of a fleet broadcasts "Align to", you are unable to find the warp/align menus on r-click sub menu. The broadcast is however align-able and warp-able by using the default shortcuts (A and S respectively) while selecting the broadcast line.
If the member broadcasts "warp to" instead, then r-clik menu works as expected and one can select align or warp from it. This does not happen with "align to" broadcast. |

While scanning in a wh I noticed that the markerson the map which identify items like wormholes do not match the green markers of those locations when scanned to 100%. (I have a screen shot if you need it).
This may be link to the problem of not being able to warp to sites that have been scanned to 100%. Example: I am in a wormhole and am using sisters combat probes to scan exits. I have 5 sites on my scanner tab: HGA-989 Wormhole --> HOE-431 Gas Site 1.0% HRH-110 Wormhole 100% JOW-849 Gas Site 100% ZOR-487 Wormhole -->
I select ZOR and click "warp to" but my ship does not move, acting like I am already at that location. I click HRH to warp there instead and "warp to" is not an option, all I have are "ignore result", "ignore other results", and "clear result".
I pull my probes back and relaunch then in pinpoint formation. Center them on my location and scan again. Now the green marker lines up with my position on the map and I can right click to save the location.
I move the probes to the HRH location in pinpoint formation, no change. I widen my probes to cover the large red sphere that is displayed when clicking on the HRH item in the scanner menu, probes at 64 AU, and not I can warp to the location.
I retract my probes. On the map, the white markers showing the wormholes still do not march with the green markers. When I save the location, the pin is placed at the white marker. (just fyi)
It seems there are some other oddities as well, I have clicked "warp to within 10" and been warped to 0, I have also clicked "warp to 0" and been warped 10 or more clicks out. Also, the red markers (dot, circle, and sphere) do not seem to march properly with the scanned item. I don't understand wtf is going on, I've deleted everything and started over and it still isn't working, except once when the launcher failed miserably and it let me start the game regardless, keeps trying to create and apply APPLYING EVE_ONLINE_598940-598940_WIN.PATCH: 0.0%, it's not even downloading anything, simply keeps trying to create this (file size varies between 3.5-6+mb) and apply.

Reducing it to 40% would result in only a 2.94% boost. However, data on Tranq is showing a 3.154% boost, which is consistent with a 45% set bonus, rather than a 40%.
Are the patch notes wrong and the intended set bonus is 45%, or did the change go through incorrectly. Ie. should we be expecting another reduction to the potency of these implants compared to their current live performance? |

I got a sound bug where the dragging item sound looped after dropping a skill into the skill que, also when I undocked I noticed that the skillbook icon was in the top left corner of my screen also

I would have a question about post-patch nosferatu mechanics, regarding PVE:
I have a Bhaalgorn for incursions and for that nos comes handy to be cap stable. Pre-patch it was ok, but now its odd regarding the following post: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=3228958#post3228958
Using these modules on the sanshas seem to have no effect at all. By using three heavy ones cap still getting depleted, and fast. Activating them on various targets is not slowing down the depletion, not for a brief time, nothing.
Pre-patch mechanics were the following: -All NPC ships had 1 cap point -They were always at maximum -Activating nos gave cap because i did not have 100% cap, right?
Now they still have 1 cap point, therefore i can only get cap if i have 0? How does it work exatcly now? |

Is there any update on people getting stuck trying to apply patches? I've pretty much tried everything I could. There hasn't been any dev response on this matter so far.
I'm patching manually due to bandwidth cap. When trying to import the patch, the launcher just stops doing anything, no matter the step the launcher is currently in.
I noticed that patch files are automatically saved in EVE's main folder, but everytime the launcher is started the downloaded patch file is deleted immediately - could the be the issue? With the launcher deleting patches on startup it's impossible to "wake it up".
Other than that, the launcher ignores the bandwidth settings. It happily keeps downloading the patch even if told to only download at 1 KB/s. |

What is the point of using the launcher anyways if its going to fail repeatedly. what was the point in removing alternative patching methods.
even after downloading the patch. it just gets stuck or fails or deletes a perfectly working patch after restarting... and all that you have is a useless .patch file that cannot even be manually extracted and copied over files. the lack of an independent updater that can apply the patch or extract its contents.
There must be a manual way of applying or extracting .patch, then run the repair tool to fill in the gaps of individual missing/corrupted or outdated files. instead they waste our time and money...
PS: strongly suggest you take your thumb out your ass and start doing your work. |

This is NOT a new issue with this patch ... just an ongoing launcher issue I hoped would be fixed in 1.1 and was not.
If your net connection has dropped temporarily when you first hit run the launcher locks up completely and never recovers, it gives no error message and does not come back even if the net connection is restored. It has to be closed manually and restarted. |

To anyone still struggling to download the Odyssey 1.1 patch:
After trying for almost eleven hours to get the patch downloaded and installed, during which time I encountered all of the problems listed here by others, and tried all of the solutions suggested by others (except CCP, of course, since they've yet to provide a fix to the problem), I finally managed to get it downloaded and installed on my two machines.
First, I should note that my primary machine is a fairly high-end custom-built PC (ASUS 787-PRO motherboard, Intel i7-4770K CPU, 8.00 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti graphics) running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, while my secondary machine is an older ready-made HP Pavilion d4790y PC (Intel Core(TM) 2 CPU, 4.00 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 graphics) running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Both are on a 15 MB fiberoptic-to-ethernet connection with a nominal download speed of 1.8 Mb/s.
Disregarding all of my previously failed attempts to download using the launcher, I finally did the following:
On my primary machine: 1. I moved all of the old patch files I could find to the Recycle Bin. 2. I ran the repair.exe file in Administrator mode. It ran through identifying all of the missing blocks, then started downloading the patch, but hung up at the point where it displayed
(6/7) Downloading patch: 71.0%, 533.67 MB/751.23 MB, 566.03 KB/s
After seeing no change in this for a half-hour or longer, I decided to cancel the repair program, but it wouldn't cancel until I manually ended the task through Windows Task Manager. At this point, I checked to see if any download file had been created, but found none. Next,
3. I launched the launcher again, only to see it appear to hang up again, just as it had done countless times before. However, lo and behold, I happened to notice that the progress display on the launcher simply was not updating UNLESS I HAD THE CURSOR ON THE LAUNCHER WINDOW AND WAS ACTIVELY MOVING IT AROUND THERE. If I moved the cursor off of the window, or merely left it sitting in one spot on the window, the progress display froze (how weird is that?). Eventually, as I sat here moving the cursor around on the launcher window, it finished downloading the patch and installing it, and once again (finally!) I was in business on my primary machine.
So, next, I used the option on the launcher to export the patch file from my primary machine to a USB thumbdrive and from there, to import it (via the launcher) to my secondary machine. Once I had done that, the launcher took over and installed it with no problem (and, oddly enough, displayed progress correctly no matter what I did with the cursor).
Whether or not my experience will be helpful to anyone, I don't know, but I thought I'd post it, just in case. I won't even begin to voice my complaints about the utter ridiculousness of this patch-day fiasco and what it has cost me in terms of frustration; the average reader can't do anything about that, and CCP probably doesn't really care  |

Thumbs up on the change to fleet bonuses, it's a much smoother progression now. So far I'm also enjoying the changes to the haulers, though it would be nice to pop some of the cargo rigs off the ones with special bays. Going to be some interesting fits for some of them. Also, loving the price drop on the links, though I'm sure it's making those who paid 1b+ for the mining links yesterday mad... :D
I too had the issues getting the client patched (3x runs through repair.exe finally made it launch on two computers for me) Not too painful since I had read the thread here first. So I logged in on the main client to discover that the eve client had killed all the extra buttons on my old Razer Diamondback 3G. I alt-tabbed away to check that it was still working elsewhere to discover that it had actually killed the mouse driver (with tray icon) completely and the extra buttons were all disabled everywhere, even after reboot. Reinstalled the mouse drivers to get the extra buttons back, but eve launcher (not the client, I checked this time) did it again. So it's a good thing I didn't get rid of my old Logitech wheel mouse... Up until this point, the only programs to ignore the extra buttons had been teamspeak and a few minor apps, but it still allowed other programs that could see them to use it. Not the launcher though. Did you guys add some sort of 'punkbuster' code to the launcher to kill off certain types of input devices or things with 'too many buttons, this must be a macro device?' I knew I was going to have to replace that mouse eventually, the left mouse button had reached it's end, but didn't think Eve would be the one to finish it off... ah well, guess I just get a new mouse next paycheck.... |

Some characters are seeing the EHP benefit of Shield Management skill, others are not.
I have 2 characters that I've run on separate computers, rebooted, relogged, cleared cache and still are not seeing the benefit of having the Shield Management V skill in the in-game fitting tool, where before 1.1 they did.
I have spoken to other players and some are seeing proper EHP based on their shield management skill, others are not. One pilot I've spoken with that sees the EHP he would expect, only has Shield Management IV, rather than V. So a possible differentiation there.

I find that when windoze chokes on any install or update, check your User Account Control settings. This controls the 'feature' that gives you all them 'Do you want to do that?', 'Do you really want to do that?' and 'Are you really really sure you want to do that?' requesters. Sometimes it 'knows' you don't want to do that and quietly Fails. I set mine to 'Never Notify' never had a problem updating Eve since. |

Went to fuel some POS (ugh)...first one was fine, no problems. Second one, I opened up the fuel bay of an online POS, and it was empty (I expected about 2k+), went to Manage the POS, and it showed no fuel on the fuel tab either. I tried to add fuel, it wanted to accept 7k (a gallente small, just like the other one), but wouldn't accept it when I clicked OK.
Thinking it was a cache problem, I reset all cache and logged back in. Still no luck. Going to jump out, and back in and see. |

I retract my probes. On the map, the white markers showing the wormholes still do not march with the green markers. When I save the location, the pin is placed at the white marker. (just fyi)
It seems there are some other oddities as well, I have clicked "warp to within 10" and been warped to 0, I have also clicked "warp to 0" and been warped 10 or more clicks out. Also, the red markers (dot, circle, and sphere) do not seem to march properly with the scanned item. For example, I was scanning a location and though centered on the red dot and a result showing in the menu, the % never changed from zero. Another example is right now I have all but one site green, a gas site at 2.3% currently. Yet ther are three red spheres on the map. This is a bit confusing.

Confirming that you cannot warp to sigs that are scanned to 100% except for the last one scanned to 100%. Once you scan a sig to 100%, get the arrow indicating you can warp to it but continue scanning instead of warping, the arrow is lost. In a system with say 30-50 sigs, it can be very time consuming to scan a sig, decide whether to keep it, BM it that instant, then move on to the next sig.
We in w-space often come across systems I just described. This issue will get very old, very quickly. Please fix

I mentioned an issue with the launcher after the last Patch, and surprisingly, nothing has been done about it. IGÇÖll try again.
I have EVE installed on 3 PCGÇÖs & 1 laptop, so downloading a big patch on all these machines is a complete pain in the ass. In the past, I download it on one, export the patch and update the others. This has worked fine until the last patch when it did not. After importing the patch, the launcher just stopped and did nothing. This happened again yesterday.
Please can stop trying to make the launcher overly fancy and just make it WORK.

To be honest, I have not bothered to read everything, so I don't know, if someone already mentioned this:
Every skill and item description (e.g. Basilisk, Capacitor Emission Systems, etc.) still refer to "Energy Transfer Arrays" and "Shield Transports" respectively, as it happens often when CCP renames modules.
BTW. I am ok with "Remote Shield Boosters", but "Remote Capacitor Transfer" is plain stupid. It does not transfer Cap remotely. It transfers Energy, or capacitor, but it does not transfer it remotely. "Remote Cap Booster", "Remote Cap Recharger" or "Capacitor Transfer Array" (without Remote) would be more sensible. |

Tried downloading 3 times. Always got stuck at "applying patch 0,0 %. Restarting the laucher makes it downloading again and nothing happens. My 2 GB download volume is already used up, so CCP cost me RL money to my provider.
Repair tool not working getting stuck at 3/7 - recipes bla bla - initializing.
This occures only on my Laptop, as my main machine patched smoothley yesterday evening (eutz).

Launcher: - under Seven, still requires admin rights on each major change else it go totally nuts - doesn't display images half the time - sometimes doesn't detect the network where it should, so we have to relaunch or bypass it
Overview: - I still have some stations & gate icons which are plain yellow in some systems, even after a cache cleared

not a bug, it's actually a feature, on day 1(back in 2003) the tutorial tought you how to CAPTURE drones, by disabling them that way i still have the "tutorial attack drone" that thing made me capture it has 30EHP and does 0.5dps of undefined damage, yay!
they never removed the feature that when drones take heavy hull damage, they get disabled, and you lose control of the drone they just stopped telling anyone that this mechanic was still in, and usually the HP band of "disabled" is so narrow, that it almost always gets killed in one shot, so you rarely ever see it happen
no clue if the patch made this happen more frequently though Return varied color to Gallente ships! not everything looks good in DARK GREEN! |

still no closer to getting eve to work. and im not going to download any futhur, 3 accounts that i paid for on the 2nd what a waste. every patch is the same as the last, the launcher just does not want to apply it at all. there is no other work arounds. have read thru 100 threads, tried every possible method. sitting with 20 .patch files all identical in every nature. the problem lies with the Patching part. and yes i have tried admin privlages from the very damn start. and repair tool same results. unless someone knows a command line to force patch or way to extract the content of .patch. guess this is it for me. ive had enough.. |

I'm come a couple of issues with the scanning interface,
I have scanned out a system with 4 sigs in it and currently have all 4 at 100% and now have my probes on the spread formation, I can't warp to any of the sigs, in the map view I currently have 2 red spheres and 4 green markers, 2 sites have 2 green markers each, none of which I can central the camera on and the other 2 sites have a red sphere. The only way I can warp to them is to rescan them again, but using the spread formation after will remove the warp to option again.

any news about the incorrectly displayed optimal/fall off with pulse laser's, i have also noticed its doing it with beam lasers as well!! ( i have put in a bug report about this )

I have been trying to patch my client since yesterday when the servers came back up. In my initial attempt to patch, my computer blue screened and (obviously) the patching failed. After a hard restart, it came back up and since then it has been having an issue downloading the patch. Since downloading patches was (so conveniently...) removed, I have been trying various things to get the launcher to download and patch my client (I have a scheduled op in 3 hours that I am supposed to be running). I am really getting sick of every time a major patch comes out, I have to do a full reinstall. What other options can you come up with at this point?
The launcher gets to 28.6% EVERY time (10+ times now) and then gives me an error and closes saying that it is unable to patch.\
I have attempted to run the repair tool, but it also gives me an error and closes. |

I've been having the same issues as the others. I tried unsuccessfully three times to install the patch on two systems that got stuck at "applying patch", tried to wash/rinse/repeat and only got it to work when I repaired both but it took 4 separate &%$#@! downloads of each to get it to work. This is NOT acceptable, especially for those of us that have metered service. On a 3rd system it didn't work either and repair ended up in a broken client. I still haven't resolved that problem.

I found a Possible workaround if your repair.exe encounters a problem.. my Repair.exe failed at the file resDX9AmarrShips00.stuff I copied that file out of the EVE folder.. and ran repair.exe again. but then it failed at resDX9AmarrShips01.stuff it seems the repair.exe is checking files alphabetically. keep on trying the repair.exe till you found the file that is causing the "failed repair"
I then copied resDX9AmarrShips00.stuff back in the EVE folder. and reran the Repair.exe. it completed the file check and is now downloading the missing data (840.13MB) im not sure if this will include the new Odyssey 1.1 or not. but atleast its progress.. feel free to try the same thing (slow internet connection) will only be able to give feedback tomorrow. about the same time as this post (after work)

After having to make three attempts to update the client, stalled on step 2 each time, it finally took the update and has been working fine until tonight.
Currently while flying a hound for several hours loading and reloading torps it decided that for some reason it would continually inform me that it was in the process of loading and to wait, several re-logs had no effect.
At the same time the stacking facility would not work, currently sitting in station I can unload the Hounds cargo bay of all torps except 1 which refuses to move from the cargo bay to the item hangar.
I can also unfit the launchers to the item hangar but when trying to refit them it allows one to be fitted then reports there are 'No Free slots' and I must unfit to allow addition of further modules, doubt 1 torp launchers has filled all the high slots on a hound.
I have re-logged, un-docked and re-docked, left system and come back, rebooted the computer and still nothing changes.
interesting, have concerns that getting another ship will result in the same problem,
Also had reports that others are having issues with there ships as well, blacked out seems to be the main one, shapes there but nothing visual other than the outline.

Wow, I learned something new today. Well, I did this "tutorial" in 2003 (as player), but I could not remember this feature. Removing the destruction at 50% dealt damage in one hit increased the likelihood of drones getting disabled (which happens at 25% structure).

Again, back on topic, I was able to get the client running at my 4 years Win7-32 PC and put skill at queue. The top gear PC are still struggling after several broken patch, launcher stuck and so one. I've been waiting more or less patiently for two days to hear that the updater is fixed. My patience is running out just like my paid-for game time and skill queue.
Run launcher - Fails at 2/2 and starts client, which downloads update and opens launcher, which fails at 2/2 again. Run .exe from bin - downloads update and opens launcher, see above. Run Repair Tool - Stalls at (1/7) Downloading index: Initializing ... and must eventually be killed via task manager.
I have reliable internet, I have admin rights, I've worked with and without virus-scanner. What do I have to do, reinstall all of Eve? If I do that, can I check a box that doesn't install the launcher? The fact that it has been reliable maybe 5% of the time since release was just an annoyance before - I'm a launch-from-file guy. We have an internal defect on this, but it is still unclear on how it will be fixed. But I am very certain that we will do something about it (as yes, this can be annoying).

Sorry if this was posted earlier I don't have time to run through the whole thread. Patch notes say that variations are now listed by meta level. Now I'm not positive on this but I thought meta level below T2 was a rough indicator of how much "better" the module was than the levels below it. So meta 4 was inherently better in some/all capacities than meta 3. Looking at T1 cargo expanders, Marked Modified SS are listed above Partial Hull conversion, yet looking at the attributes the Partial Hull are clearly better. It also appears the the meta level attribute was completely removed from the attributes tab. I hope this was unintentional as it provided an "at a glance" indication of the modules rarity/value.
Am I reading this right or is it a bug? |

Since the patch Sleepers seem far more inclined to attack drones... in over a year of using sentry drones in WH space I could count the occasions where they would prioritize sentry drones on one hand. Now in the exact same situations with the exact same usage, over the course of 2 days they've prioritized the sentry drones several dozen times. Uncertain if this may apply to any other NPC types. |

This has been fixed internally, but we will most likely not update the server with the fix until next week. The issue isn't that game-breaking since you are easily able to re-activate the launcher and we wouldn't want to rush it out.

Reduce the ISK/hr? Using a cruise missile Golem with all damage missile skills at V (except Cruise Missile Specialization at IV), it is virtually always that rat battleships are left with about 3 tiny lines of structure left on the damage counter. Thus virtually every rat battleship requires waiting for the launchers to cycle again (time) and one extra volley of cruise fury missiles (ISK) to finish them off.
Both time *and* cost went up by 25% to 33% per rat battleship.

On Windows 7 x64; With the most recent update and the initial 1.1 update, I had to run the repair tool. At the end of the patch download, it simply said there was an error (no file name given or any other reason), and that I should run the repair tool. This shouldn't have happened twice. Both times it appears to have completed the update before giving the error (it posted the note to review the log file for changes, followed immediately by the error note).
Luckily, the repair tool cleared up the problem pretty easily (it did find problems and fixed them). That's great that you guys have that built in versus just redownloading the entire program.

The message on modules getting deactivated (on target lock drop) is getting changed, the notification will only appear when you either:
- Get target jammed
- Your target is outside the max targeting range

Confirming that scanning is borked after the patch this morning.
When I logged on, I had 7 signatures in the field. The scanner window showed all 7 at 0km and 0% signal. Opened the map, and not a single globe or dot was visible for the 7. Ran a system wide scan, and got 2 dots out of the 7. Luckily I had BMs for 6 of them already and only 1 was a new signature. I had to guesstimate where the 7th sig was and was able to pin it down eventually.
I guess they're listening to the people that wanted scanning to be more difficult by just releasing broken bit after broken bit.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

When rearming POS defense batteries using the new Hoarder ammo bay I could not take the ammo back out of the weapon because the process uses the cargo hold and it wasn't large enough for the stack nor could I split the stack. Is it possible to have that mechanic check for a large enough cargo bay OR ammo bay? |

More information: the ships in the system went away, and all the red dots came back. Maybe there is some interference of the ship scan brackets with the red dots. |

Well, I have just installed Odyssey 1.1 almost without a hitch - but I will admit that had I not read through this whole thread, it might have been a very different experience.
There was one very weird thing going on throughout the patching process - and I strongly suggest everybody trying to install the patch checks whether it's happening on their machine too before he/she starts killing the launcher, running exefile.exe, deleting or repairing files, and whatnot (as I suspect THAT is when the REAL mess commences).
Simply put, rather randomly, the progress bar stops updating - however, the patching process is actually proceeding just fine. It's been mentioned several times in this thread, but I believe it's worth pointing out again. I have encountered several moments when the patching process seemed to hit a wall (first right when the update started, then several times later on) - seemingly no progress for many many seconds.
However, every single time, I have eventually managed to get the progress bar to start displaying the progress again (and found out the download/patching/whatever was proceeding just fine). IIRC, hovering the cursor over the launcher window always did the trick, but it was not the only way. Clicking around, minimizing the launcher window and bringing it back to desktop, launching some other piece of software like Calculator or Notepad and closing it... there seemed to be multiple ways to "return the focus" to the updater bar (specifically: I was able to get the updater bar to work even with the cursor outside the launcher window).
So, if you're patching and things seem to be stuck, first check they really are - the computer savvy capsuleers may check the list of running processes to see if there is any CPU activity from a familiar process or check network connections to see if there are actually packets coming in.
Though the simple fix for me has always been just wiggling the cursor around a bit and parking it inside the launcher window.
WHY this happens, I don't know... perhaps some invisible interaction with background processes (like an antivirus), perhaps the launcher launches a subprocess and doesn't claim the focus back.
Just my two cents. |

When scanning a ship, there are no signature brackets/dots or anything until the ship is scanned down 100%
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Put a ship in a known spot. I used a safespot to avoid celestial clutter.
2.) Scanned with a covops (max skilled with Rangefinding, Pinpointing, and Aquisition I mods) probes in the "pinpoint" configuration at 32 AU and center probe over the center of the safespot. The ship shows up in scan results, but no bracket.
3) Put all probes @ 1 AU over the known safespot where I know the ship is and scanned. I got a 100% in scan results and can now see the green brackets of where the ship is in space.
4.) Dock up ship and scan again at the spot to clear the results and brackets.
5.) Warp ship back to spot and repeat step 2. This time I see the red dot in the solar system view AND in the scan results. Further scanning produced the yellow/orange dot and then finally the green 100% bracket. If I was to bring in a completely different toon and try scanning his ship down in the exact same spot I would have the same issues. No scan brackets at all until you had the ship signature scanned 100%
Please fix. Many carebears are missioning with impunity in lowsec, and this just will not stand, man. The Sandbox = Play however the hell you want. |

I opened a support ticket yesterday, recieved no answer so I hoped that it will simply get fixed after today's downtime. There I go with combat probes and nothing, again. When you select an specific signature you get the CIRCLE, but never get the red dot when approaching. Impossible to probe people, and ofc is not a planned addition to the game.
The sad part is that in 24 hours no single CCP representative posted any update regarding this and that's... quite bad. Nothing to blame as I love eve and CCP attitude 99% of the time, but this issue is under the 1% of bad handled things.

It seems the Warp-to 100% signatures bug was fixed, but I noticed a related issue last night: I had multiple 100% signatures scanned out, could warp to all of them, but I could only bookmark the most recently scanned signature from the scanning interface window. I had to re-deploy probes around a second signature and scan again before it would allow me to bookmark. |

Doesn't work atm, the sig display is just bugged, at least with combat probes- no sig indicator of any sort was displayed. Luckily the guy was in a sig which I could scan down without issues with cores, so we didn't miss the kills.

Scanning No Red Dots (possible work around): I'm getting the no brackets/red dots in map issue. Using a Gnosis, jury rigs for scan sig, modules (range and pinpoint),level 2 skills with Astrometrics 4 and an expanded core with combat scanners (not sister). PC
If I press alt and stretch the default pinpoint pattern out a little it seems to start showing signatures in the map on the next scan. I have also noticed that using a shotgun formation will show better results in the map but when the pinpoint formation is used after say 20% scan strength on the signal, the dots go away again. As I was roughly able to get a location with the shotgun scan, and feel confident I know where the targer is in map, rescanning several times on a good signal in pinpoint formation will increase the signal strength even though no marker is in the map.
Wanted to post this to keep the conversation going on scanning as I DO NOT LIKE NOT SEEING DOTS IN THE MAP. |

LOL are you kidding me? "not having problems at all"? I stopped using the launcher 3 months ago, when it failed to patch me game 3-rd time in a row. Since then I have icons with eve on my screen: 1) "\bin\ExeFile.exe" 2) "\repair.exe"
If I go in the game and it says "patch available", I close the game and launch the "repair.exe" which patches/repairs necessary files... |

I've not had any real problems with the launcher that required a repair at all since it first came out. Perhaps the problem is that you stopped using the launcher after they fixed a problem that may or may not had been related to the launcher, and that's why your installation is borked all the time? Food for thought. The Sandbox = Play however the hell you want. |

I don't know if it is borked right now, all I know, that small patches, using repair.exe, are applied in 30sec and with no problems, while the launcher could be updating for 2-3 minutes and usually it would just error out at the end.
Using my way: Launch "ExeFile.exe": a) if game has not been patched since last launch -> continue into the game b) if the game has been patched -> quit -> launch "repair.exe"-> wait about 30s for it to update -> launch the game

Please fix. Many carebears are missioning with impunity in lowsec, and this just will not stand, man. yes it needs fixing, but please dont moan about them missioning with impunity as they can still be found via dscan, if you are capable of doing it that way of course.
Sorry mate not sure how you are doing that. You may see what direction they are but you will never get a warp in on them without probes if they are doing an agent mission.

I'm guessing you checked info when the drones were out in space. Ingame info only shows the correct range if the drones are in your drone bay. Check again. |

The location and signal strength of fully scanned probing results are not being remembered.
How to reproduce this issue:
Scan a signature to 100% and bookmark it. The green triangle representing the scan result is on top of the bookmark.
Change your scan range to 32au and scan again at the same location. The green triangle is now nowhere near your bookmark.
Move your probes so that less than 4 probes are covering the bookmark. The green triangle has been replaced by two green triangles, a red sphere, or a loop. The option to warp to the signature through the probe window or the solar system map has disappeared. You can't warp to the signature at all unless you bookmarked it earlier. |

Solar System map and probing menu box is borked.
Scanned all sigs to 100% (btw as others have mentioned it seems like all of the signature icons have the potential to move/duplicate atm - this can't be intended), pulled probes (cause you know in W-space you don't necessarily want them hanging around) exited the Solar Sytem menu, moved to a different celestial, reopened Solar System map and started trying to right click on the fully scanned signatures to book mark them....
The right click options only offered to ignore result, ignore other results, clear result. Not good.
I had to drop probes again and scan again to get the save options back....and selecting the sig and thining the green triangle was indicative of where that was to scan again quickly (as it worked prior to Tuesday's 1.1 patch) also didn't work. In some cases the green triangle was close, in others not.
This is not good for scanning down signatures. Please address this as quickly as possible.

I have had similar problems. I have at times been unable to warp to green markers and have on several occasions gotten very small red circles when probes were at the smallest size and spacing. Had to start the process over to be able to warp to the green ones. Once I got 2 green markers for the same site and was unable to warp to either and had to start over again. |

I have an issue with the tracking camera. It seems to move randomly, although it most often orbits in a random orientation around my ship. Sometimes by clicking locations in space (not an object just empty space) I can get it to stop. However, if I select an object in space or select an item out of the overview, it starts orbiting again (or if its already orbiting, it changes orientation). |

I'm just gonna add to the fire of the borked combat prob scanning. Most of the time, the points/circles/rings/etc only appear for me if the exact ship type is known. Clicking other entries doesn't remove the marks for the previous ship that I clicked untill I click another known or 100% probed ship. |

There are at least two instances I've encountered in the last few days of wormholes still appearing on grid, yet displaying a 'wormhole collapsed' dialog box when you attempt to jump through from either side, in one of these cases, one side eventually did collapse, but the other side stayed in existence.
These were NS->C5 wormholes (N432) which still had plenty of mass and time.

Seeing various problems when probing signatures.
Some signatures are showing up in probe overview and are showing as red marker in system map but unable to scan down, i cant seem to get sig strength past 1.5% even if i close down probes with a larger red dot present. Using both types of probes.
Some signatures remain at zero and unable to locate red marker dot also never seem to show a distance.
Ship scanning is possible only tried on static pos parked ships but never shows as red dot or brackets right up to and including 100% sig strength.
One occasion i have had scatter containers not showing as brackets or white dots on screen they do show within overview and once selected then appear on screen.
Win7 btw.

3 days and not a single post about how it's broke and what they are doing about it.
Apparently still celebrating their latest disaster.
No new content is insult enough but to put out a completely broken release is just utter BS.
CCP the issues are very simple.
Beginning with the fact that the signature indicators do not refresh as they should once the % drops to 0.0% This leaves the appearance of a false/ghost indicator. This is certainly due to the fact that the indicator and the list are tied together and not treated as seperate things with a reference tying them to each other.
Please fix this broken crap or revert because it is making it very difficult to find a way out of a hostile wh and other situations.
There are forums and active channels in game that if you were paying attention too, you would have the specifics you need to correct these things.
This is what happens when you get people who are not explorers or people who didn't understand exploration because it was too hard, planning and deploying exploration releases.

The problem with "indestructible" rats is unreal. Using a T2 fitted Cruise Raven, with all damage support skills at V (Cruise Specialization at IV), I had one rat BS that I sent 4-5 volleys at when it was down to 2 lines of structure. Repeat: not to finish off the rat from start. NO NO NO, the rat was already at 2 measly little lines left of structure, and I had to repeatedly hit it 4-5 *MORE* times. Each time, it regenerated a couple *MORE* lines of shield, so that it kept getting healthier and healthier with each shot I put into it.

I think its more a case of CCP not knowing how to fix it without returning it to the way it was, and CCP never do that. |

No, I don't work at CCP ... I just know, after playing since 2004, that the most "compensation" you'll ever see is a couple of thousands of skill points IF AND ONLY IF the server was closed for longer than a scheduled patch.
Also, my point about your description of the problem, or lack thereof, stands : if you want fixing, try to help by giving accurate descriptions and steps to replcate the problem, not spouting all caps whines.

I just want to compensate my money and time, i find relics at null, then found one and every second not working properly? all that i can, that is to blow it up.

In the good 'ole days of arcade gaming, there was something that I called the "B.S. Factor." This was where you'd do everything right, but the game was simply programmed not to let you succeed, no way, no how, without some B.S. "trick".
The indestructible rats exhibit all the signs of the B.S. Factor. The rat *should* die. Obviously, it should have died when you put a cruise missile into it at two lines of structure. And, clearly, a "game mechanic" where rats just can't die if the final shot would go entirely through *any* remaining structure, no matter how little is left, if *any* shield or armor remains, no matter how little or if it gets repped on the same clock tick as the damage, is just B.S.
Eve Online was a game where the numbers (and skill) were all that mattered. Now, CCP introduces various B.S. Factors to lower the ISK/hr for players. All of their recent efforts in development have been to lower ISK/hr and increase player losses.
We wouldn't buy the super expensive fancy duds to put on our cartoons, so CCP retaliated by driving up the "real cost" of PLEX. And, now, CCP resorts to using B.S. to do it. |

Some issues to report in my time back in New Eden.
Client: PC
- Selecting "Avoid system where pod killing occurred recently" in the Route dropdown, interacts with Market Data. The result is the number of jumps, shown as 1 AU in kms. That 2-somethinglong number. I had no idea what it meant at first, but there could be a better explanation in the Market Data, that the place is unreachable with current Route settings.
The following is not really an issue, but a suggestion:
- In the Market Data, could it be possible that under "Jumps" the System and Station would be more distinguishable? Maybe System and Docked Station?

As much as I love your game it's times like this I wonder if the -ú500 a year I spend on it is worth it.
You guys haven't even acknowledged it's an issue to us the customers. |

Got bitten by this one as well.
When I logged in today I got a message that a patch was available and the launcher apparently tried to update the EvE client. About half way through the progress bar halted, and the installation was apparently stuck somewhere. What I dit (which made it apparently worse) was the following.
1. Kill the two launcher.exe processes 2. Tried clearing the cache. 3. Tried repair.exe.
These action did not generate the desired result (a fixed installation), but the launcher now halts with the message "The server you are connecting to doesn't have a published update package".
Now I i am stuck with an unsuccesfull client update message and I have no idea on how to restart the patching. Tried to install on a Windows 7 64-bit PC, which ran EvE without problems for a long time. |

yep same here, one pc got 15% then froze had to use task manager to shut it (not responding) now wont even open launcher! the second pc doesn't even get that far just the "The server you are connecting to doesn't have a published update package" error
it says join 31261 other pilots online so im assuming its just a few of us with this error? |

Dont know if this helps but this is the second day in a row ive had launcher issues. Both cases resolved them selves after i tried repairs etc and gave me the no update file available on the server message.
In both cases i closed the launcher, waited 5 mins, relaunched and they updated and worked.
Would not have resolved probably had i not gone for a smoke. :P

ccp supposed to fix issues with this new launcher. no result...
From the last 3 or 4 extensions/patches, got every time an issue.

2 computers and 2 different accounts same problem. I have had launcher problems weekly for the last 2 months. Please don't tell me I have to delete all eve files and download the whole program again. Reallly !!!!!! At least give me some free skill points for all the trouble I have gone through and time wasted trying to make this game work. Have had to uninstall eve due to issue caused by the patch, couldn't even load the launcher to get the failed patch message.
I'm now unable to install eve as the online installer has failed, it linked me to the offline installer and that failed to...
a little bit stumped as to what to do now any suggestions?
update: I have submitted 2 support tickets for this, i know 2 on the same thing, the first ticket was due to the patch error, the second is for my install problems. |

Been having no issues with the launcher (OSX). Which is a great improvement compared to the last 4 months. A consistent visual bug I've noticed since 1.1 is the in-station inventory list pushes down the left column (ship list and hangars) by a varying amount. Creating whitespace at the top until sliding the separator bar makes it jump back to the top as normal.
Of course I still have little quality-of-life requests, such as: Make the browser background default to black instead of white. The whole game has a black background palette, and it's deer in headlights every time I click a link...    Do not actively tank my patience. |

I found for when the luncher isn't applying the patch running it as administrator fixes the luncher in windows 7 and I would assume it would work in windows 8. If you set the luncher go
/CCP/EVE/EVE Online Launcher Right
Right click > Properties > Compatibility >
In the Compatibility tab Go down to "Privilege Level"
Tick the box "Run this program as an administrator"
This will automatically run the luncher in administrator every time you log in, BUT a message will pop up every time you open the luncher asking weather you what to let it make changes to your computer which is a miner inconvenience
unless your running ISboxer and have to close the luncher every time you want to open a new char and have it apply correctly |

Pointer is very delayed. Mouse click doesn't register in many instances. At times, when attempting to select a targeted ship the radial menu appears and I was not clicking and holding, simply a single click.
The problem is further exacerbated by multiple clients.
Exiting EVE resolves all mouse related issues.

From my personnal experience, I never had a single problem with the launcher nor the patching process, provided I don't start it "nownownow' as soon as the server shows up, most of the bugs and glitches were corrected in a couple of days, even the '99% hull resistance when down to 2% hull" doesn't seem to be there anymore.
And yet, there are some very rude people here insulting the developpers and thinking that harsh words and bad spelling will make things go smoothly.

I must be doing something different then ... now that I think about it, I usually get the NPCs down to 33% hull with one to three volleys (using a T2 Cruise Missiles SNI for L4 missions, and a T2 Heavy Missiles Drake for L3 missions), and the last volley finishes them off ...

Well, that's funny, because BS rats use to go down in three volleys, and at most 4 for those really hard ones. So if you are taking 4 or more to kill them, you are experiencing the problem. This particular issue causes mission rats to take 50-75% longer to kill (and consume that much more ammo/missiles), and that is *IF* you can actually kill them in 4 volleys. I have seen rats that take many many more if you turn off launchers, thinking that last shot should do it, or if the rat just keeps regenerating between, or at the same time as, you put that "last" volley into them.
So, CCP has finally come up with the grand Finale Solution for "carebear" PvE and mission players, people who just wanted to waste some time and relax.

I have a similar problem. Happens to me when I'm using keyboard and mouse at same time (exemple: Press CTRL to target, Alt or any other shortcuts). In fact, using the keyboard makes the CPU usage spike 4 times the normal usage.
The workaround I got was to change the display setting "Interval one" to "interval immediate", but this setting supposedly makes a bigger strain on my graphics board. Any word from CCP on this? |

There are still scanning issues - there appears to be a problem where a ghost signature ends up always over-riding the real sig, when this happens the only solution seems to be recall probes and relaunch.
I presume it's something to do with how cumulative scanned strengths are preserved. |

Since the latest updates there seems to be a lot more lag.
Examples: Deactivating mining lasers can take upto 10 seconds to respond where before it was instantaneous. Sometimes Get Jobs now has a delay of several seconds. Sometimes Listing Blueprints also has a delay of several seconds. When jumping systems there sometimes is a message saying something about to much traffic and there will be a delay of 176 seconds. I thought it might be to do with my PC but it only started happening since the update and also spoke to other corp members and they have had similar problems. Also, some of these delays causes a Socket close error which has still not been fixed by CCP after all this time and seems to be getting worse. |

I also suspect *strongly* that Dust 514 is a money cow for CCP, that or a fiasco that is consuming the company's time and money to correct. Either way, stand aside Eve Online, Dust 514 is the way of the future!
P.S. What is the story on CCP Soundwave leaving? Will there be mass defection of staff? |

I'm not sure how eliminating PVE would benefit CCP. Nearly all the ISK that players get by selling PLEX comes from PVE (Namely NPC bounties and mission rewards). The PLEX don't generate ISK, they just transfer it. The more PVE there is, the more ISK each PLEX is worth. All I can say for sure is if PVE dried up, the economy would need serious CCP work to remain healthy. |

While these are a necessary evil in EVE given the complexity of the coding my beef is still with the 'New' all improved launcher, which quite frankly is utterly broken.
Currently the almost daily updates are taking longer and longer to first 'Install Files' then several minutes to re-open the launcher to 'Validate Files'. WTF you just installed the files now you want to validate that you did it right in the first place and take more time, Notice that the 'Adverts' keep cycling around without any delays.
Cleared the cache and Oh boy...another ten minutes 'Validating the Client'...seems to hang on 73.2% for quite a time.
And whats with it constantly loosing log in information, Usernames list keeps getting cleared down every time I use this launcher yet the old 'EVE exe' retains all my data with out question.......Is this another one of those famous 'EVE Features' you keep banging on about.
Sort your **** guys, this is rookie programming at it's finest.

Hey Guys,
I don't know if this will help or if it has been just a random occurrence for me.
So here's what happened: I usually leave my dude in a friendly hangar when I'm done playing at night (I usually go to sleep less than an hour before the nightly maintenance). When Odyssey came out, I had major problems. Had to go through the updates several times and/or run repair.exe until it finally worked.
As more updates came in, I continued to have problems.
The other day, I came home and, expecting another update, decided to completely close out eve AND the launcher before trying to log in and get the update. To my surprise, upon starting the Eve Launcher, the update installed correctly and I was on my way in just a few moments.
I've now gone through three updates without any problems.
Again, I don't know if this will help anyone else but figured I should post this since I haven't seen anyone talking about completely exiting all Eve software (including the launcher) before trying to log in and getting an update.
Oh, and exiting all the software after going through a failed updates did not seem to help matters.

Ever since the latest patch there is a delay in displaying the system and route section on the top left of the screen.
Once you jump into a new system it sometimes takes a good 3 to 5 seconds for it to display. It previously used to be instant; as soon as you jumped into the system it would tell you which system you were in and give you the options to jump to the next gate on your route or to a planet/belt/station in the current system. |

I have an issue with warping to gate cloaked (Buzzard)
When i select warp / jump button to a gate cloaked and land at 0km my ship will not jump, it will just say "Approach" and stay there. This did not happen before odyssey upgrade.
When i do this uncloaked, it will do as it should. |

A clean install using the offline installer worked for me, after 4 tries downloading partition 2, on cellphone tethering... Not fun, but at least I managed to log in losing only a few hours of training... |

Well, in 9 years of playing, that would be the first time i would have to manually decloak before jumping through a gate
The cloak offlines when an object is within 2km.. i.e. Gate at 0km (as i said in my post).

Regrettably, I got greeted today by a new patch, the launcher gets to around 25% and gives an error message and fails to patch, manual patch didn't work, repair didn't work (repair actually broke the launcher). I can't afford to download the full game every patch. I never had this issue before last week, now second week in a row... Offline downloader will take hours to finish, if it even finishes correctly and I don't have to restart it 3 times like last week, I'll lose some more training time and my cellphone provider will probably not be happy about another 5GB+ DLd on tethering. |

I have tried every fix I've read about to no avail. Launcher would originally sit on %0 verifying client, so tried to start the game without the launcher and would get another error after repeatedly trying to download the new patch. So I uninstalled to try reinstalling and now I cant even D/L the client. I've run the installer and get an extraction fail. so I try the offline installer and it tells me eveonline_614137_1of2_7z.0lw40lv.partial "couldn't be downloaded" I'm getting the impression CCP doesn't want our business. Thankfully I can still log in and cancel my sub. |

Those stories of "cannot patch", "cannot log" and "cancelling my sub" reallly intrigue me, I had a very old (7 years old) computer with Windows XP on it that never failed to patch EvE, that one died and I now have a brand new one with Windows 8 on it, and I *STILL* never had any problems ...
The only time I had a problem downloading a patch was when my Spybot Search&Destroy program was not configured to accept downloads from CCP ... two mouse clicks solved that.
Are you guys tolally sure it's not a problem on your end ?

The issues on my end are so random I no longer know... it failed to patch this week again, so I uninstalled everything and reinstalled from the offline installer I got last week and that client patched... but today, again, I'm faced with the same issue, so I will try once more to repeat the process and see if it works again. This worked yesterday, nothing has changed on my end, I logged on and played, today patch failed, repair failed. I'm doing my best to document all errors and save all logs and submit them to CCP. |

Also, quite often the Overview goes blank after jumping into a system and stays that way until docking-undocking or jumping into another system (at which time it may or may not go blank again). |

Literally ever since the launch of 1.1 a few weeks ago I have been having an issue with the session change timer locking/failing to fully load after jumping through a stargate.
I jump through a gate and the session timer locks/stops at either 9 or 10 seconds and doesn't load no matter how long I wait. It doesn't matter what I'm flying or doing when the stargate is activated, tried with without mods running and different ships etc.
Most of the time local chat opens but the graphics don't fully load and I cannot take any actions with the ship at all.
It seems like the only workaround is to close the client and reload it through the launcher. when I do this most of the time my ship is in a safe and warping back into the game. Once in a while I find my ship at the gate instead of at a safe. (I lost a ship and got podded once when it didn't put my ship to a safe).
The issue is getting worse in that once it occurs with a system change session change it seems like that systyem stays bad like that and it happens every time there.
I have cleared cache, defragged my machine, tried playing in safe mode, tried lowering graphic requirements to minimum etc and even completely uninstalled/reinstalled client and the problem has not gone away/been fixed/gotten better.
Yes, I have filed bug reports with at least one file for recreating what happens when a GM mentioned how to do that several days ago.
This is the last thing that showed in log before I shut off the client because the session stopped loading: 140882013.09.24 18:09:51:574Removing session file C:/Users/Doug/AppData/Local/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility/cache/2644_6609871696126880480.session
Warping around in a system works fine. Docking undocking, fine. Change systems and it might/might not work right and once it stops working right it ceases to work for that particular session change forever.
Has anyone worked around this issue and is there anything else I can do that might this? Please keep in mind I started in July and had no appreciable issues with gameplay/connections until after the most recent launch.

this just started around 3:00am east coast USA time so around 07:00 eve time .....
i got a droped connection while in game....try to reconnect an got the old launcher...and was like a new install an first log on..re booted computer and same....run the repair tool....same thing again......
any idea what is going on   |

I haven't read this whole thread to see if these 2 issues have already been mentioned.
Secure Cans in space do not show the anchor icon below them when anchored. I don't know if the issue is the same for structures but it's very irritating not being able to see if the anchor is active.
Right click menu is interrupted and will disappear when target lock is established. This pertains to anything related with options via right-click drop down menu such as unlocking existing targets, controlling Drones, changing munition types, issuing ship commands, etc.
These issues cause unnecessary delay and frustration and could easily cause the loss of equipment. Please fix these issues asap.

Never had update, repair or launcher issues before.
- Ran launcher, it reached 100% of patch and appeared to hang. I eventually closed it.
- It tried to patch again and failed.
- I restarted and ran repair.exe. Got an error; at this point, I've gone through many gyrations but still get the following error from repair.exe:
