I also discovered wrong falloff calculation in new EFT regarding to ambit rigs + tracking enhancer. With my skills (HAC 4/Trajectory Analysis 4) EFT shows 3.1 + 38 km for this setup, ingame it has 3.1 + 35km.

I wonder how to solve this problem. Note I'm using Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium with F-secure and openoffice. I have never encounter such a kind of problem in the previous version of EFT.
Same problem here. Setups are not saved. I've also tried a clean install of EFT with no success. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. EFT 2.11 was working just fine.

This had been the same in the previous versions. Setups had only been saved when you close the corresponding window (for example if you fit a Megathron, you have to close that window). Otherwise setups are gone - or at least had been on my computer.

I've never encountered a problem with losing setup when closing EFT while having fitting window open.

Did anyone notice changes in agility calculation?
When pulling my vagabond fitting from my old eft to the new version, it went from 3.1 seconds align time (after skills + implants) to 4 seconds.
My claw went from 1.9 seconds to 2.7 seconds, also same fittings and implants.

I've updated known issues list. New version to fix them is planned for tomorrow.
Originally by: Van Diesell 2. The screenshot of ship setup is saved in a file of .jpg format, which is too large to spread on the Internet. It's known that many forums may have size limitations for uploading files. Therefore, I suggest that you use .png file format to save the screenshot. It's smaller and have better quality than .jpg file. Or you can have both output format coded in the EFT and let users choose. Additionally, http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/libpng.html (documents for .png format) and http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/png-sitemap.html#programming (sources) may help you.
To my knowledge PNG doesn't provide any higher quality/size ratio than JPEG format. Currently generated images are about 100kB at max. If you have troubles with such image size you can use other picture hosting sites to store the images and link those on the forums.

Problem:
I have ships fitted in EVE that according to EFT I don't have enough powergrid. Something's wrong with it. I have more powergrid in game than I do in EFT.
Guess the test server is going to get some extra business from me in the near future.

Just out of curiosity, do you have PG implants in your toon? If so, you gotta tell EFT that manually, it doesn't pull them from API... If not... *shrug*

Any chance that we could get EFT to sort ships by attribute either with or without skills applied? Or that we can get EFT to output the ships and stats into a file in *.xls or *.xlsx format? The key to pvp is effective fleet teamwork. |

JPEG has unbeatable quality/size for photographs. For icons, text, white window areas and such, PNG is better. As a bonus, PNG is lossless with bit-for-bit accuracy giving vastly better screenshot quality and smaller size at the same time. PNG compression methdod is similar to ZIP, while JPEG's compression works a bit like MP3.

The first part of your post says "I don't think there's any difference". To which I respond: Jpeg is only better when dealing with photos. However, PNG does in fact provide a higher quality with smaller size when dealing with images like EFT screep cap generates. There are large monocolor areas that are compressed very well. Try taking screen caps of EFT and saving then as jpg and png and see the clarity/size differences if you don't believe us. Or just read Wikipedia's article on the subject.
The second part of your post relays a very different picture though, to which I respond: Really, if you don't want to do it, just say "I think jpg is good enough so I won't get to that. Here's a work around.".

I had this problem too. I closed EFT, deleted the 'setups' folder in the EFT folder, then reopened EFT and it work like normal (created a new setup folder). Copy your setups first if you want to save them. The problem seemed to be that the setups folder (and in past patches the char folder) becomes read only and wont change no matter what.

Great work, fast update, much appreciation. I have a thought for a new feature. Due to projectile ammo effecting not only range but tracking. It would be sweet to have a column, like the one for optimal + falloff, that shows the tracking of turrets instead of having to show info to see the tracking. Maybe make the columns show adjustable. Just an idea. Great work and thanks again.

Gripen,
Avast is reporting a trojan in your download of EFT2.12. It reports it for all 3 of your download links on two different PC's (winXP and win7). I used the download your links in the first post. I'm able to download other stuff (non eve related) without complaints about trojans.
This is the log message from Avast:
12/2/2009 8:16:15 PMSYSTEM488Sign of "Win32:Delf-MZG [Trj]" has been found in "http://fileshare241.depositfiles.com/auth-1259802892ef566f4e4073079cc14834-99.224.89.192-889699963-32614392-guest/FS241-8/EFT2.12.zip\EFT.exe" file.
FWIW, I'm using Avast 4.8 home edition with virus definitions 091203-0
A corpmate downloading the same files with norton 360 antivirus is not getting any warnings from the same downloads.

It sounds like it is Avast falsely reporting the trojan, and not a problem with your download:

Unable to confirm the false positive on the avast forums. They are currently slow and unresponsive.
Great product though, I can't wait to download the newest version. Prolly try again tomorrow.

FYI, it seems that Avast is having some major issues at the moment with false positives, including half my system files on one my computers - and as it calls it a virus (falsley, it's OEM software, in that case) you can't access it. The only soloution I've found is to uninstall Avast and swap to AVG until avast fixes it
Also, EFT rocks!

As of 2.12 the Jaguar reports a 15% afterburner speed increase per lvl of Minmatar frigate. This is not in the game as of Dominion 1.0. What's up with that?
Either way, the tool is awesome and your effort much much appreciated.

update on my problem...it looks like the same "trojan" was found in my alcohol 120, and it did the exact same thing it did to my eft i.e. i can't access it anymore, comes up with a message saying something along the lines of "cannot find specified file you do not have permissions to acess this file".

So... whoever's telling folks to DISABLE Avast to counter this problem... Is there some reason you WANT people infected by this trojan/virus? The damn thing was all over my system before I cleared it out, and I just rechecked. It came from the EFT download from eve-files.
DO scan programs before you install/run them, folks! It'll save you. Someone out there is up to no good if they tell you to disable your virus scanner. If things are showing up infected, there's a reason!

Confirming that Avast! is indeed the start of Skynet...
On topic, Avast is reporting tons of false positives (like Skype and EFT). Ignore these! Win32:Delf-MZG is the trojan that is being falsely reported. On another note, I also have an annoying sig.
