I thought I'd throw in that it looks like the mining crystals aren't accounting for skills quite right. The Veldspar Mining Crystal I only has Mining I listed, which is the secondary skill requirement. There's a gap above it in the requirements which I would think is where Veldspar Processing Level III was supposed to be.
Intentional, or a mistake in transition? I have no idea. It's been like that since EFT 2.8 at least.
And thanks, Gripen, for writing EVE Fitting Tool. Not just that, but doing a very good job with it. |

Missile damage seems to be out of whack with TQ. Its showing I do more DPS then what TQ says.
Anyone else noticing this?

Intentional. Veldspar Processing does not have any effect on resulting stats, so it's not there. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Missile damage is by far the easiest to calculate. There are no perfect or suboptimal hits. Just check out the damage a missile does for you on TQ, divide by rate of fire and multiply with your number of launchers. This is what dps you will deal on any stationary infinitely huge target. If either of those change, the formula gets far more compllicated and you can't illustrate it with a single figure.
Parrots, commence!

Isn't it a requirement to fit the "charge", though? Kind of like how you have to have Astrometrics III and Survey III to load a Discovery Survey Probe I into a Scan Probe Launcher I, even though the Scan Probe Launcher I only requires Astrometrics I. Bear in mind, I'm talking about the requirements sheet when you look at the info for that particular item. Not the skills that affect the item's performance.

I've tried moving the sliders for transversal, changing AB for MWD, turning off webs and on, and nothing is changing the damage that the graph shows for missile damage inflicted on a target. I was wondering if I was maybe doing something wrong? I've loved using this graph and was looking forward to seeing the effect missile's new Explosion Velocities and Damage Reduction Factors had on targets.
It is working correctly, as it is set up, although it is a bit confusing. The way the DPS graph works is that it always assumes that both ships are moving at full speed -- the only thing the sliders do is determine how much of that speed is perpendicular to the two ships (i.e. contributing to transversal). Therefore, a transversal of 0% doesn't mean the ship is moving at 0 m/s, but rather it is moving at full speed, just directly toward/away from you. Since missiles only worry about raw speed, and not transversal, sliding the transversal slider makes no effect on the DPS.
That said, perhaps it would be useful to have the sliders affect the overall speed as far as missiles are concerned, so you can see what sort of damage you would inflict (or take) at different speeds (because we can't always go full speed). One way to sort of estimate what slower speeds would have is to just stick a webifier on the projected effects on the target ship, and that will at least show you the damage taken at 40-50% of max speed.
I'm an idiot. :P I thought I was thorough and tried everything, and today I was trying to think of other options when BAM, it hit me... I forgot to uncheck the box on drones I had fitted. der der der
Thanks for the replies I got to this. :) You can run, but you'll just die tired... |

I don't think people understand what I'm saying. The damage a missile does in HP is different from EFT 2.9.1 to TQ.

EFT is raw optimal damage. For missiles, it's mitigated by speed and signature radius on TQ.

2.9.1 doesnt appear to be applying my gang bonuses in EFT. When fitting a commandship it also doesnt offer the ship as the bonus source like in previous versions.

yea, I already posed that question, albeit it has not been answered as of yet:

unless i'm missing something...
Version 2.9.1 changes: - Ship base speed changes were missing. This has been resolved.
if that's the case, I already have 2.9.1
also, there still seems to be a base speed issue.
My raven does 117m/s, and EFT is showing 92...
gang bonuses and base speed do not seem to be in effect or are incorrect.
other than that, superb program.

From the patch notes: Quote: # Locus Coordinator rigs are now subject to stacking penalties.
I can confirm that the optimals I am getting with tracking enhancers and locus rigs are coming out to the same values that EFT is producing. Adding a number of tracking computers in addition to enhancers and the rigs still gives the same value between TQ and EFT.

It's a bug with Ballistic Controls. The damage missiles do isn't updated in the show info screen of the missile. Online and offline your BCSes and notice how the damage value doesn't change when you Show Info again. However the damage is still actually applied to the missile.
I bugreported this one year and eight months ago. It was attached to a defect and never fixed. Maybe someone else should bugreport it. __________

Swing and a miss. I'm saying if you right click the launcher in EFT and go to 'Show Charge Info' it says 1010 EM Damage, and in TQ if I go to my fitting window and show info on the missile it only shows 777 Em Damage. Both are Identical fits, and thats a huge difference in DPS.

Great tool - nice update to 2.9.1
However, I'm getting an massive failure if you add special characters )(, etc to the name of a custom damage profile. e.g "Amarr Faction (blood, sansha)"
First error dialogue:" ' sansha)' is not a floating point value." [ok]
Click OK - App opens but everything is blank, only menus show. It is possible to open the char and ship browser but both are blank. It is possible to click into the ship browser and then ok to open a ship setup screen (again everything here is blank), this then triggers the next error dialogue: "Access violation at address 004DB8C3 in module 'EFT.exe'. Read of address 0000000C" [ok] Click OK and the app just sits there all blank. Right clicking & selecting options is possible but generally retruns access violation errors.
To fix this I had to edit the config.ini and remove the offending characters from the last two lines: "DamageProfile=Amarr Faction (blood, sansha),65,35,0,0"
edit to
"DamageProfile=Amarr Faction,65,35,0,0"
and everything is ok again :)

I would like to see a POS fitting tool.
Not necessarily within EFT. But I would like to be able to fit a POS in the same way I fit a ship in EFT.
- See the amount of damage it can spit out (and the range and tracking speed in the damage calculations) - See how much shields and armor I have, adjust hardeners accordingly. - See how long my fuel will last (tied in with API)
I know there are plenty of other POS tools. But I don't think that those other tools are as refined and precise as EFT has become. If you can put as much skill and time into a POS fitting tool as you have put into EFT. It could be really sexy.
Can you do for POS fitting/managing tools what you did for ship fitting tools Gripen?
