The US can ban the import of the video game from Iceland. They can ban US internet companies from allowing connections to the CCP servers. They could do a bunch of things to make sure that EVE is not allowed to be played in the USA.

There are a few games that are banned in the USA that you can play in other countries, this would not be the first time nor will it be the last.

Mittani always claims to be darn intelligent.
Yet realising when you place yourself on a pedestal your words will be weight with more scrutiny never arose to him.

Just like Chribba, Darkness and several other well known personalities in EVE his word holds weight.
Well atleast to a certain crowd.
Next to that he is chair of CSM 6 and now CSM 7 so that's another spotlight.

Don't know howmany braincells you have, but I can clearly see someone else suffering from is by being called out by name and called out to be harassed.

By calling others out to harass this player he actually invokes others to break the none harassement rule. So he encourages others to break a rule.

These are just a few things I want to bring forward. It doesn't matter if that player was or wasn't suicidal. The mere idea he might be should have stopped Mittens from doing what he did.

I think that most of you that are pro Mittani are missing the major point here.

This COULD be a huge issue for CCP. There are US congress people looking for any reason to shut down or regulate the video game industry. Things like this just add fuel to their fire.

You do understand that the USA could simply ban CCP from selling EVE in America correct? You do understand that is something that is not out of the realm of possiblilities if one of these anti-video game people pick this up and run with it. Cyber - Bulling is a huge issue here in the states. I disagree as I think bullying is just human nature but that is not the point.

I think you idiots need to understand how much of an issue this could really be. This is much more then some simple comment made by an idiot. This could be the issue that starts the ball rolling for the anit video game people.

I would like to call for the resignation of GÇ£The MittaniGÇ¥ in regards to his complete misconduct during the Fanfest 2012 Alliance Panel. Per CSM Representative Conduct article of the Council of Stellar Management, all active CSMs are bound to abide by EULA and TOS and are subject to immediate dismissal and permanent exclusion regardless of infraction. As the representative of the best of the EVE players, more stringent stance is given as they are GÇ£expected to uphold the social contract that all society members are held accountable to, but should also set a behavior standard for everyone else to follow.GÇ¥

For those who are unfamiliar with The MittaniGÇÖs misconduct, please refer to the link where he knowingly encouraged thousands of potential Fanfest viewers to send mails to an EVE player who has exhibited a history of mental instability, to provoke him to commit suicide.

CSMs are elected to exhibit the best of their behaviors, may it be in drinking, partying, or playing EVE, but knowingly encouraging other players to take part in a possible suicide of a player in front of thousands of EVE and non-EVE audiences crosses boundaries.

When asked to answer for his misconduct, he only gave a nonchalant answer. He should have been begging on his knees, apologizing for his childish behavior. If a no-name player like me incites thousands of EVE Online players to partake in an act to provoke a mentally unstable person to commit suicide, I would have been banned by CCP without question. By the tone of his postings, he is completely unapologetic of his misconduct. Is it ok that because he's the head of CSM, that he can do whatever he wants?

For the future of the CSM, please consider the dismissal of The Mittani from CSM.

Actually, Mittani didn't harass anyone, via email or otherwise, at any point. He merely told others if they wanted to email the gentleman his in game email was The Wis.

Now I suppose if some people decided to repeatedly spam Wis that might be considered harassment... except, of course, that it isn't as they can be deleted without even reading them. Even convo's can be blocked with a simple click. Either way, that is on their own head. The Mittani didn't "order" anyone to do anything... nor could he enforce it somehow if he tried.

Now he did attempt to embarrass the guy during the broadcast, along with several others. However I have yet to see a ruling in any nation that embarrassing someone is against the law.

By the way, cyber bullying cases in the US at the moment involve cases where the persons real life identity is known and affected. The Wis still retains complete anonymity and could simply quit the game if he/she feels harassed and doesn't know how to press the delete key in his EVE mail.
