You're right Viceroy, they aint even that useful as they are but they are pretty damn fun (well for about a week I guess) so why the need to nerf ?
CCP are like the Road maintenance people, instead of sitting round picking our asses and thinking of which road to dig up for the sake of it, the Devs simply get a pen and wrote all the mods on big bit of paper and close their eyes and jab pen randomly on a mod and decide lets nerf that one today.
I ain't getting on no plane fool ....ooops wait, wrong guy |

The only good a cloak was, other than for a fleet commander to sit high above the battlefield and direct operations without worrying about his own ship, was as a "warp to" bookmark for blasterthrons.
Not anymore, it would seem.
Pathetic nerf. :(

LOL. Sounds about right.
Make the deactivate range 2.5km? Same as jump gate range...
If someone wanted to find a cloaked ship all you need is a thorax with a MWD and a load of drones.
Once people start learning how to find cloaked ships it'll be another nerf from CCP. We need balance YES, nerfing NO.

I wonder why I spent 10days on training Electronic Upgrades (Sensor Upgrades pre-patch) when there are no covert-op ships in-game and cloaking, which already has _loads_ of nerf's, get even more nerfed by 10km decloak/cant claok within 10km of any object.
*sigh*
As stated earlier - stop the nerfing, start the fixing. (and balancing ) --------------

I can't believe this. I haven't even had chance to try out a cloak, and now they're getting nerfed so that they are no use at all. It's ridiculous. 1km was fine. Even 2.5km would be ok.
"Oh my God, we've just added some content to the game! People are liking it, less people threatening to leave! We can't be having this, quick nerf it before people start to use it and enjoy themselves!"
Seriously though CCP, why not just let the cloaks get out onto the general market, let more people use them, get more feedback from more players, and then decide if it should be nerfed. Don't do it before 95% of the players have even seen one of these devices. --- "Due to the European lard shortage, we are currently unable to supply this product." |

No do not put them on the market yet, some of us rushed round pulling our fricking hair out collecting those Jove bits and deserve a little 'ha ha look what I gots and you don't'
BUT, DO NOT nerf something which isnt even that useful. 2.5km I agree would be fine.
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Well, you still need to be 15km behind the target to let gangmates warp in on top of the target. Though I agree it's become a more difficult task now to maneuver yourself undetected among multiple hostile ships.

I don't use cloacks yet and i have some questions.
Do you still appear on local?
And if you do why nerf the range to 10kms?
Well some CCP decisions are weird as $hit.
but... oh well. Need to live (play) with them... Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

*chuckle* CCP are up to their usual tricks. I can't imagine anyone thinks this is sensible. An already extremely dubious device to be made totally useless.
At least I don't have to worry about not having been given most of my reward anymore.
I would be fascinated to hear an attempt at justifying this nonsense. Can anyone think of a reason for it?

What the? TEN KM?
Do CCP just pull random numbers out of there ass? Seriously, it was 500 metres before, you could generally avoid being found, unless the person searching gets lucky, now, I say again, TEN KM???
Thats only 20 times the range it used to be, this is not what you call tweaking, I dont know what you call this, perhaps stupidity?
Make it 10KM and you may aswell of not bothered adding cloaking, because its going to be LITERALLY useless now anyway.

Perhaps the new Covert OP frigates will have Detection Range decrease bonuses on them? This would make the devices useful on the ships for which they were intended and not for other ships without the range penalty.
Sort of like how mining lasers work on certain frigates.
This would be my guess on what is in store for cloaking devices.
