it says that patch notes are available for reviewing, but what's the point of reviewing if CCP is going to implement those stuff regardless?

Of course! CCP should make a debate with all the users, asking what they think about the changes, and if they agree! Yes, democracy is needed. Endovelicus is a supreme solar healing god, thus a god of Medicine. Hello In the near future I may not be in the game and the Internet (problems with moving to another city). I can not now use the gift SP. Can I count on using them in a week or they will be lost?

Edited by: Jazz Tangle on 29/06/2010 10:13:58 How about the issue that lvl 1-4 mission agents send you to low sec disproportionately often (and courier missions sending me about 20 jumps away, again to lowsec for a lousy pay)? I haven't done much mission running because of this which was one of my main activities in eve. The last patch seriously ruined playing Eve for me.

The Primae is a limited thing but I believe as long as you haven't used the SP-buff, it'll still be there later. So say for some reason you can log on in three months (example!), you should still be able to distribute your SP bonus as you haven't used it yet.

Edited by: Libin Herobi on 29/06/2010 10:55:16 Just wondering:
When people come here and complain "No fix for XYZ? BAHHH!" and then suddenly 4 hours later the fix is added is that because you simply forgot to put it in the patch notes the first time or because someone dicided to include this fix in the patch or because someone actually fixed it quickly?
IOW: Would the fix for the epic arc have been part of this patch if no one had mentioned it? And where's the "Excellence" in that?

You have a democratic right to pay or not to pay. If enough people fail to pay CCP fails. If enough people pay CCP succeeds.

I would really appriciate the "remove learning skill" thing...
Those skills are KILLING new pilots, i've showed EVE to 5 friends, ALL of them like the game BUT do not want to play it becouse you have to learn learning for 3 Months, to be able to learn something else in an normal timeframe.... also i personally do not really understand what they are good for than keeping unpatient people out of the game, GIVE US UNPAITIENT PEOPLE CCP SO E HAVE MORE TARGETS TO SHOT AT!
Thoose Skills Shorten for example: Battleship lvl5 from lvl3 for 9 days, that's nothing if you have to wait 51 days....!
It would be awesome, to remove thoose skills, add the Attribute Points to Character all at 5, and refund the Skillpoints to use it on something more usefull...

Mac
* When a player changes the shader setting to low, it will no longer encounter flickering and transparency issues on models. * This will be fixed in a future expansion The customs office will no longer turn pink when zooming in and out. * The crash reporter will no longer error out when attempting to report your crash. * The log off button on the ESC menu will now work as it should without crashing your client and attempting to launch the crash report tool.
Miscellaneous
* Warping probes will no longer cause any exceptions errors.
Ahahaahh macs.... |

My guess is that the patch notes were drafted in a planning meeting a couple of weeks ago, then someone goofed and forgot to pass on that other additions were made to the patch. On top of that, projects not originally slated to be in the patch were finished ahead of schedule, and so were included within the last day or so. This always happens with software development of any kind.
What's unusual is that CCP releases their patch notes in advance of applying the patch. Most developers of any kind of software won't release the patch notes until the patch is released. The fact that CCP does this makes them kind of unique, and shows (to me at least) that they're trying very hard to communicate with their users much more transparently than other developers. The alternative is waiting until the patch is deployed, then surprising everyone with what was patched and what wasn't. Which would you rather have?

Originally by: Daan Sai Shouldn't the SP only go to chars whose skills expired during the extended DT - that is, the ones that actually lost some SP?? If everyone gets them, then those players are still behind, relatively speaking.
Because you weren't smart enough to put a long training skill before update like everyone else does? No. The free sp is for downtime and the inability to supply a service we are paying for, not because a bunch of nubs don't know to put a long skill in when CCP does an update of any kind. So in short, the answer is no, we should all get free SP.
In short, when CCP does and update, train Battlecruiser to 5.

I have no idea where you obtained your knowledge about software development. But if you intend to take a service offline for an hour or more your customer will demand a reason why. And "we're patching something" is not the kind of answer that will get you a "Go". Even open source projects will announce the changes that will be made in a release.

Edited by: bolianavitchfantuleanpie on 29/06/2010 11:41:21 I'm going to bring the catalist glitch up again... how long has it bean since we all noticed it? MONTHS.... how many times has the patch notes mentioned it NONE.... this i think would be more of a top priority than lets say, adding lights to the dark sides of a planet... i know you guys there at eve headquarters are working very hard (as obviously seen in the patch notes.....) for the $15/month times the amount of people paying minus the 200 employee wages... hire more people to get things done faster please, by the way, thanks for the new ship, I'm always glad to add to my vintage collection.

Simple solution to most ppls tears! CCP take note
On most Clans/ Corps/ e.t.c for any game... when an admin wants to change something they add a "poll" to the website. each logged in player gets to choose what check box they want. At the end it shows 45% wanted "blah" and 35% wanted "bleh", and 20% of jack ass's wanted "meh"
VERY VERY simple to implement, gezz ill even do it for you for free!!
PS i think learning skills should be removed, but then ppl stats whould go a bit wonky, i built my Toon to have 22perception 18 memory e.t.c but after playing relised i needed social to 18, so trained in that learning skill to get it to what i needed
......... am waiting for the flaming guys, so do your worst!

I appreciate the change, how CCP handles issues now, when I have the latest relocation of servers in mind. First they made, what they always do, extending the DT, then again, again, disappointing. But the point, where they just informed about a delay in about-time made me think, they improve the dealing with all of us and reduce disappointements. Congrats to that, CCP! Btw: nobody who's planning the learning queue has really lost learning time...

Yes it is. For me at least. Of the 9 times I ventured into low-sec, I only survived once.... Each and every time I died at the hands of players, not NPC's. And the one time I did survive, I was alone in the system the entire duration of my presence there. |

Protip: Don't recomend a new player to train the learning skills the first things they do.. get them to establish a source of income first..

Sorry, but from my expirience, learning skills are under the first 10 skills, a new player WILL set heir hands on for sure! I didn't told em to learn them first, they've realized it themselve.

@Joker
That is one of the cases yeah, but i'd say 75% of the times you have seasoned players recomending those skills first, which in my opnion is plain dumb. But if a new player get's the idea to train learning skills first i personally would recomend them to at least be able to have some fun and get a income first, being able to blow things up etc really removes the tedium of the learning skills.

I know, i remember myself, first got skills to do some mining and to do missions, and the next WERE the learning skills, becouse i realized otherwise it would take me ages to get better ships...
I see thoose skills still as useless :-)

Personally I do not care about the SP there is not enough to really care about. All I want is for CCP to give us Caldari's Missile launcher graphics back, you all have our turrets and lasers to look at. Our ships seem to spit missiles and yes there was a time there was graphics for them. SOOO GIVE IT BACK TY for reading

I see people unhappy with things as is and will always be in any game, obviously. The learning skill thing? i believe i heard it referenced in a CCP interview during the AT8 as something they are looking into. I know for a fact there are several things that came about BECAUSE of the CSM. And usually the candidates will tell you during their campaign what it is they plan to bring up to CCP, Personally i might add.
Your above Proof? this isn't proof of CSM not working, just proof that there is always something people want changed. What! what was that? no i swear i heard something, i bet its after ME >.< |
