No, no it really isn't a large patch at all. -------------------- Not in cruelty, Not in wrath, The Reaper came today, An Angel visited, This gray path, And took the cake away. |

a discount?!?!?! i gues not .... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, yeah... This was not unexpected at all... Think positively. You just got one hour more to do things... Like real life stuff... You know like take a shower, cook something proper to eat, throw out the pizza boxes from underneath the desk, change to clean clothes... You know the things people tend to forget just because "oh, just one more lvl4 then I am really going to do this... just ONE more!"
Just kidding. But seriously get used to it. Happens all the time, so there is no much disappointing about it. Plannable, calculable. Good work needs time.
LOl good work is planned and executed with the delivery time met on time

even though before it said exactualy the same thing only 13:30, they change it as if ppl will doubt that they read it right in the first place. why not say oups again will be delayed by a further 1 hr (proubaly 7)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this originally said 11:00 to 13:00. The sly devils.

Patch notes for Tyrannis 1.0.2, released June 29, 2010
CRITICAL.
Due to the unprecedented nature of the downtime on the 23rd and 24th of June, players have been awarded a number of bonus skill points to assign to a skill or skills of their choice. These skill points will be assigned to the highest skill point character on the account and can be applied by right clicking the desired skill in the character sheet.
100k skill points is considered critical? good to have replaced but hardly, critical!
Market
òOxygen and Water will now be listed under the planetary materials and not under trade goods in the market window. òPlanetary Materials market group will now display the correct icon.
and this is considered important too? did we players suddenly forget there is a market search fuction and a item quick bar there to use? Been there for years in fact.
Sheesh! shouldn't you be concentrating on an actual faulty 96 hour timer issue on your new PI setup. Where you cannot stop it, as it trudles on in an never ending loop without destroying the extractor and replacing it with a new one,I know they are not massivley expensive to replace,at least for most of us players. However, the point is it's actually a broken/faulty game function and should not pushed out of the way for trivia.
Sorry but it' kind of takes the Wow!factor out of "wow here's your new ship toy" but we haven't fixed a fault in the code which controls a crucial item involved in the PI operation. Again it's not the isk involved it's the customer perception(s) of the product delivered,
Sorry! but thats the way most folks look at things these days, you don't paper over the cracks to hide the faults or fiddle arround with minor items you fix the faults then give a shinney toy as by way of an appology as and if you feel its appropriate.

wow...............people still insist on smack talking ccp about how long it takes for them to deploy a new patch, or not fixing previously known issues or whatever the hell else. But they are all still so adicted to the game.
What do you want next? CCP to run the plexes for you? Mining all that arkonor for you? or how about they wipe your arse every time you take a dump??
I have an idea.....why dont you go make an mmo as epic as eveonline, and let us know how well you get on with updating it and patching it as much as ccp has done here.
yes there are issues that could do with being fixed. yes it would be brilliant if everything always went as planned and on time. but the woork ccp does is a real life thing (its a job for real people in the real world) and real life never goes as smoothly as you would like.
i suggest you take the extra hours dt and spend it with your families or doing something a little more constructive than playing games.

Originally by: Smuggo Smuggins Wow, amazing how many people are scared to go to low-sec for their precious missions. It really isn't that bad.
Yes it is. For me at least. Of the 9 times I ventured into low-sec, I only survived once.... Each and every time I died at the hands of players, not NPC's. And the one time I did survive, I was alone in the system the entire duration of my presence there.
Well you must not be paying enough attention to your surroundings. I've been doing exploration sites out in low-sec for months now and have only been ganked twice, and both times because I did something stupid.
I suppose your right low sec exploration sites are the same as lvl 5 missions ??
Your running theses eploration sites in a nice big golem that can be scanned in a couple seconds ??. Personally if I run low sec exploration sites its in a small fast ship. Dont ever seem to get warp scrambled. In lvl 5 missions I was frequently unable to warp out for several minutes. A pve fitted ship with support ships needing to remote repair is a sitting duck that one pvp fitted BS could easily destroy or are you suggesting pve fitted ships can generally kill pvp fitted ships? Now you can use arguement that should take a full fleet of people, so spend an hour waiting for everyone to get together and headout to do missions. Word gets around to local pirates so you can then spend 2 hours hiding in your pve fitted ships and ultimately have to fail mission. . Hmm that sounds fun why wouldnt people want to pay good money to do that??
Either they make pve fitted ship viable for pvp or forget people missioning in low sec. Just wont happen. And current changes means normal mission runnners have to spend lots of time going several jumps to run missions which lots are getting fed up of. If things are not changed I think this game will die a slow death!!!

I see the usual patch day crap is happening:
1: CCP announcing a delay.
2: The community becoming increasingly edgy and irritated.
3: It happens on another day my wife is away and I should have had the whole day to be on-line...
Yep, some things never change.

Tiberious Heth...
it isnt that they DON"T do it right... it's basic business here, Don;y make promises to customers you can't keep!!
personally could care less about game time, but even the employees of a company don't want to be linked to constant failure.. If you played a sport, would you always want to be on the team that ""just never played to there expectations and potential " or the team that succeeded?
Been in sales a number of years, I know shyte happens, but it's called good ole fashion CYA !! If your customers expect you to fail, is that a good thing??

i know what you are saying but where do they say 'we promise the server will be back at an exact time?' it doesn't but it does say 'we should be back at x time' this is not a promise. this says to me that we hope to be back at this time but there is always a chance we wont be.

OMG people!
Shut up and stop whining about extented downtime. It will be ready when it is ready. If you can predict future better than CCP go ahead and apply a job for them.
If you can't do better than CCP then shut up. If you can do better than CCP work for them.
I'm sure CCP does it's best to keep things running and will provide us a quality game experience now and future.
You all should be thankful that you get constant upgrades and patches to keep things running smoothly. Of course there is a lot still to be fixed and I'm sure CCP knows what they are doing and when.
Try to be little bit more supportive towards CCP.
Period.

I think the point is that CCP say that they expect things to be sorted by time 'X', it normally goes beyond that. So what should be happening is CCP adding thirty mins to an hour to their update down time.

If you work for CCP you are not allowed to play Eve anymore... kind of means that their most dedicated customers and players are incentivised not to work for them. Equally, CCP wants to hire people from the pool of players.
This kind of makes a negative feedback whereby only the crap players work at CCP. Does this mean that Eve will get more crap over time?
