I'm sure CCP does it's best to keep things running and will provide us a quality game experience now and future.
You all should be thankful that you get constant upgrades and patches to keep things running smoothly. Of course there is a lot still to be fixed and I'm sure CCP knows what they are doing and when.
Try to be little bit more supportive towards CCP.

seems to me but when they give something away for free and fix a few things shouldnt one be gratefull and say thanks? as far as lag is concerned this is nothing compared to what it used to be like when nano-phoons ruled the stars and there were very few t2 ships. flysafe "To go where no man has gone before." |

Correct me if im wrong... but that comment is a little redundant due to the fact you are a player too?
yes i am a player and yes i have a wife and 3 kids. atm my wife is at work, my eldest child in school, my second child is eating lunch and watching telly while my youngest is in bed sleeping. you wont find me online much during the day as i dont tend to play until the kids are in bed and the wife is watching her tv programmes.

why should we, the whole reason this patch is being deployed is because of epic **** up last week, then they do it again, besides most ppl want to use CCP products to play, not work on them. So how about you shut up

CRITICAL.
Due to the unprecedented nature of the downtime on the 23rd and 24th of June, players have been awarded a number of bonus skill points to assign to a skill or skills of their choice. These skill points will be assigned to the highest skill point character on the account and can be applied by right clicking the desired skill in the character sheet.
100k skill points is considered critical? good to have replaced but hardly, critical!
Market
òOxygen and Water will now be listed under the planetary materials and not under trade goods in the market window. òPlanetary Materials market group will now display the correct icon.
and this is considered important too? did we players suddenly forget there is a market search fuction and a item quick bar there to use? Been there for years in fact.
Sheesh! shouldn't you be concentrating on an actual faulty 96 hour timer issue on your new PI setup. Where you cannot stop it, as it trudles on in an never ending loop without destroying the extractor and replacing it with a new one,I know they are not massivley expensive to replace,at least for most of us players. However, the point is it's actually a broken/faulty game function and should not pushed out of the way for trivia.
Sorry but it' kind of takes the Wow!factor out of "wow here's your new ship toy" but we haven't fixed a fault in the code which controls a crucial item involved in the PI operation. Again it's not the isk involved it's the customer perception(s) of the product delivered,
Sorry! but thats the way most folks look at things these days, you don't paper over the cracks to hide the faults or fiddle arround with minor items you fix the faults then give a shinney toy as by way of an appology as and if you feel its appropriate.
Sorry sir, the guy who says "oops, thats broke" and htis the fix button is on vacation ^^. P.S. i hereby declare that i am not "most folks" apaprently ^^ What! what was that? no i swear i heard something, i bet its after ME >.< |

Ignoring the trolls that seem to be business experts (btw, how many of your run your own, highly sucessful company?), and those complaining that this patch doesn't fix every known bug, issue, glitch in the game, and the people complaining that the people complining in this thread should be off spending time doing RL stuff (even the irony is ironic here...)....
Nope, sorry, that's all I had to say.

Originally by: Tiberious Heth wow...............people still insist on smack talking ccp about how long it takes for them to deploy a new patch, or not fixing previously known issues or whatever the hell else. But they are all still so adicted to the game.
What do you want next? CCP to run the plexes for you? Mining all that arkonor for you? or how about they wipe your arse every time you take a dump??
I have an idea.....why dont you go make an mmo as epic as eveonline, and let us know how well you get on with updating it and patching it as much as ccp has done here.
yes there are issues that could do with being fixed. yes it would be brilliant if everything always went as planned and on time. but the woork ccp does is a real life thing (its a job for real people in the real world) and real life never goes as smoothly as you would like.
i suggest you take the extra hours dt and spend it with your families or doing something a little more constructive than playing games.
Excuse me! but as I am Sem-retired have a lovely wife and family inccluding grand children with whom I spend as much time with as I want, add to that two horses to look after and a sizeable garden. I think my life is prety full and undominated by EVE. So go lecture some infantile still wet behind the ears child, only do it properly not stupidly or they will take the total P**s out of you.

You guys whine and ***** too much.
I always like patches. They show progress, regardless of how long they take to implement during server downtime.
Appreciate the fact that we -are- getting stuff fixed. And that we're getting new stuff into the game.
If you seriously whine about server down time, you really need to consider what you do with your life, and how you value yourself and your time spent.

Obviously anything that can go wrong will, and so I can understand the position CCP is in to roll out patches in a timely manner, and the frustration they AND the community feel when estimates get pushed back.
Having said that, if the shoe were on the other foot, do you think CCP would be as forgiving as the playerbase?
For example, we all know that we are scheduled to pay once per month to be able to log in and play EvE. This day is something that can be planned for, predicted, and calculated by. So what would happen if you were an hour late on that payment? Two hours? But you sent an email updating CCP that the payment would be an hour late. Then two hours?
I'm sure they would still let you log in. Really. -------------------- Not in cruelty, Not in wrath, The Reaper came today, An Angel visited, This gray path, And took the cake away. |

Originally by: Smuggo Smuggins Wow, amazing how many people are scared to go to low-sec for their precious missions. It really isn't that bad.
Yes it is. For me at least. Of the 9 times I ventured into low-sec, I only survived once.... Each and every time I died at the hands of players, not NPC's. And the one time I did survive, I was alone in the system the entire duration of my presence there.
Well you must not be paying enough attention to your surroundings. I've been doing exploration sites out in low-sec for months now and have only been ganked twice, and both times because I did something stupid.
I suppose your right low sec exploration sites are the same as lvl 5 missions ??
Your running theses eploration sites in a nice big golem that can be scanned in a couple seconds ??. Personally if I run low sec exploration sites its in a small fast ship. Dont ever seem to get warp scrambled. In lvl 5 missions I was frequently unable to warp out for several minutes. A pve fitted ship with support ships needing to remote repair is a sitting duck that one pvp fitted BS could easily destroy or are you suggesting pve fitted ships can generally kill pvp fitted ships? Now you can use arguement that should take a full fleet of people, so spend an hour waiting for everyone to get together and headout to do missions. Word gets around to local pirates so you can then spend 2 hours hiding in your pve fitted ships and ultimately have to fail mission. . Hmm that sounds fun why wouldnt people want to pay good money to do that??
Either they make pve fitted ship viable for pvp or forget people missioning in low sec. Just wont happen. And current changes means normal mission runnners have to spend lots of time going several jumps to run missions which lots are getting fed up of. If things are not changed I think this game will die a slow death!!!
Dude, obviously you have never had success or scored big. What you need to do is join militia, and figure it out. FW will teach you how to survive fast. I live in lowsec, have a sec status >0 and make bank out there. Doing whatever, it just takes brains.

Great!
I don't mind short patch release cycles, even if that'd equal an extra "estimated" 90 minutes of regular downtime each week!
For now there's no change about e.g. the contact list being mentioned. Patch notes in need of getting updated point to the question how close bugfixing is kept track of internally -- i assume there might have been done more minor fixing which slipped to get mentioned? If so: Mention it as "some more fixing has been done"! Computer savvy people might be good readers taking a conclusive list as exactly that: Conclusive.
It's interesting to note the SP stuff in response to downtime has been labelled as CRITICAL, whereas some crashes just fell under category FIXES. I do appreciate the SP gesture, but CCP should remember the point that gifts unasked for must not necessarily make up for specific issuerelated disappointment.
It was interesting to note not only PLEX prices seemed to have gone down a bit, but PLEX trade volumes decreasing a bit, too...:
The butterfly effect is a metaphor that encapsulates the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory; namely that small differences in the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system.
A small bugfix can make a huge difference.

perhaps they should try to stop time compression... looks like they don't understand that their fix are allways late! Two hour and a half ... why don't they state for 5 hour at the start

Does anyone know what extractors and process facilities do during patch time? Do they stop or what? I noticed that they do reset the cycle time after the patch.

Well maybe CCP will learn the leason when all player send a message like suggested "Sorry due to unpredicted DB-Issues I will send the scheduled payment 1 hour later."

Due to the chaos factor of the butterfly effect id say a small bug fix can lead to a server meltdown. That's just my cup half empty view i guess.
