If people were playing drinking games to CCP deployment delays most people would be plastered by now and I'd expect the next generation of EVE-ers to also be conceived during said games.
I am not whining, I don't mind a full day without EVE but the delay is over 4 hours now with an additional 2 more expected, ok, not abnormal... but after a 10 hour DT ? oooook I am sure as hell moving to Iceland now... if the slack for getting stuff done on time is this great I surely have a place in your company :D(expect my CV whenever tomorrow, plus minus a decade, depends on how much time it take for me to run down all the bugs in it).
To anyone who thinks I am whining: I suggest getting your hand out of your pants first because it's obvious your brain is being starved of oxygen.

Is there any plan for reimburse whole day lost from my pay for play, i dont mean cash i mean sp for. If i hav to be honest CCP should let us know They need 2 days to apply incarna, and then after give us reimbursment of sp or anything for that. Good Luck CCP
BTW: i had hope that ill play on tuesday, but now i lose all hopes, its whirly soo hard to let players know U need 2 days fro patch ? I think no, and all of us would be more nice and happy

Lulz and lies. 8-6 years ago in eve when a patch hit you were lucky to get online within the first week of it being released for more than a couple minutes or hours at best. And if you did get online it was just as often that some massive bug obliterated whatever you were flying or locked down whatever system you were in so you could only look at a blank screen (logged in).
so to the OP of this horrible quote. stfu, 16 hours, hell 36 hours is nothing for a patch...

In general I applaud the new content and I'm sure CCP are working their hardest to get the server back up and running.
That said, someone earlier made a good point that if your pizza delivery is 30 minutes late you get a free pizza. If trains are 2 hours late you get a refund. If I have no internet all day, my internet service provider refunds at least 1 day of charges.
There has been no Eve Online all day and while that's simply unfortunate and CCP are probably as disappointed as we are, there's still been no service today and if we're paying for that service there should be some form of compensation or refund.
That said I do appreciate the hard work the guys at CCP are clearly putting in and their dedication to the gaming community. In particular it's nice that they keep us reasonably regularly update.

If i were you... i'd give everyone who has complained about lost time... or demanded free SP a 7 day ban...
anyone who has complained about how they pay good money only to loose a few hours gametime in exchange for 15 FREE expansions.... should receive a 14 day IP ban
and anyone with the nerve to use the excuse Quote: "im an IT developer"
should receive a perma ban :)

I've been playing this game for around 8 years now, and every single time a major update comes out it is awesome. Before it used to be a small number of hours and I didnt mind, but this is just getting longer and longer with each update, and guess what? I still dont mind.
I am absolutely thrilled that a company in such a competitive market feels that its good conduct to treat their customers this way. Thank you for the awesome game, and for working so hard to keep it fresh.

There is a difference between a consultant and someone who actually has to do the service work. Saying you are a consultant doesn't tell me how much you actually get into the hardware and software changes on a live system. I actually do server updates and upgrades and sometimes overruns happen. We had a 12 hour overrun on a server replacement due to various problems most to do with improper information from software manufacturers. It happens. Managing a multiplayer online game is a step beyond and I've done this on the predecessors to today's multiplayer online games. Managing a cluster such as eve and processing a major set of changes such as listed here with some overruns is not unexpected. They also stated they EXPECTED not PROMISED 17:00 uptime.
Now you say you set your trainers so you can login each day to change them. You don't make use of the 24 hour queue period in which the trainer can be changed for you? This does extend your need to login past a daily period. We fought hard for that system so there's no excuses for missing a trainer within a 24 hour period of being logged in.
On a lighter note... they did not state what day at 17:00 Maybe they're just early for tomorrow :) I'm one of the first to poke fun at CCP and the things that go on regularly. I'm also one of the first to recognize how hard it is to do what they do on the scale they use. If you don't like it then stomp off and quit and leave more resources for the rest of us. *tips hat* oh dangit I have to get aurum to buy a hat to tip..... *stomps off looking for a hat*

a few weeks into the game for me, (im a 2 month old pilot) i was sitting very intrepidly off auga 3rd cloaked up in a probe taunting an amarr station camper with vollies of witty station games insults and fukung attacks. (your fukung is weak!) i was in comm with corp and had just been talking about a small amarr fleet we had decided to roll. suddenly i get a fleet invite and ofc i accept. next thing i know, the camper is right beside me in his tengu, uncloaking and blowing me up. far from angry i laughed myself silly. and swore to kill said camper at a later date, which i managed to do later with a well placed trap with myself as bait. anyways, this particular camper has taught me just as much about piloting as any of my incredible corp mates. the point of all this is simple. eve is just ****ing awesome, if a few hours downtime ****es you off then by all means quit. im jonesing as bad as anyone, but a lil DT is a small price to pay for the daily thrill of blowing the amarr to the seven hells. plz take ur time ccp and ty again for the wonderful game. it makes my life better and i appreciate it. now feel free to flame the hell out of me sucking up, but im bored, defying gravity, and ready to blow said amarr to said seven hells.

Is this NOT the best, most intricate, immerse MMORPG in existence on the pathetic planet called EARTH???? WTF do you expect from a shining example of collaborative,State-of-the-art, bleeding-edge, technology that is EVE?? I am repeatedly drawing parallels with other paradigm shifting technology. Computer tech (on your desktop) is less than 30 years old. Consider the automobile technology +30 years. One needed to be a mechanic to keep they're Model A Ford streetworthy. Computer tech is still in it's infancy. Stop pretending it's like your TV, and get real!! Problems happen; deal with it! And for GOD"S SAKE -- STFU!!!
