Is there any sort of means for us incoming EVE folk to identify ourselves once we get in? I suspect us kindred souls might get on well.

Great start, your not even into the damn NEW MMO you picked and your whining about the bloody autodownloader and the lag already.. I wonder how that will end?
Perhaps we should suggest we want CUSTOM MECH PAINT JOBS there too?
The hook is well set, keep reeling them in. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

I like the walking in station aspect, I'm ok with cosmetic micro transactions, and I'd be ok with game play micro transactions if they drop subscription fees. But since they won't this is not acceptable. I can understand wanting to make money. But you do it by getting more players not price gouging. Instead of adding cosmetic crap and charging for it, add more aspects to the game. How adding new ships? Like the ones you had that contest for? Oh and making Dust a PS3 exclusive is just plain stupid.

We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

If you paid by credit card just charge it back. That will get CCP's attention and cost them $20 in chargeback fee, you can do it up to 3 times if they keep resubmitting. Hit them where CCP only cares.

You have cancelled ( BTW - Firefox spell checker says only 1 'l' CCP... ) your EVE Online subscription.
Your account will be suspended at the end of the current subscription period, expiring on 17 August 2011.
Your characters will be stored safely and be ready for you to enjoy again should you decide to return.
Enjoy your adapting CCP... *Thumbs Up*

EVERYBODY COOL THE **** OFF.
Please think. Read how this whole hype began. Then go through it slowly and carefully. And you see the rage which is venting there is indeed based on "wide theories" you created.
Thats ladies and gentlemen is called brainstorming without borders. You done it.
If you think that after this they gonna do exactly the thing you predicted and raged over, than i am sorry you cannot be helped.
If you think that was kind of productive, and will await positive outcome you are welcome.
Now apologize where its due. And CCP free those you banned over this. Thank you in advance.
I may be naive. But Hope is just imaginary. So its up to you.
Seriously this getting to far. Stay cool for an moment.

It's a pretty fair assessment. Some folks are having issue not being able to dictate how CCP runs their company, and thinks that taking the appropriate step (when not satisfied) of leaving is somehow important or noteworthy.
Business as usual, just a higher entertainment value than normal.

If this has been mentioned before, then i apologize for the double post...
So, in the new thread detailing the "email" from Hirmir, CCP would not take the time to confirm or deny it, but, they do take the time to state rule nine of the forums:
"Guys and girls,
The forum rules are quite explicit and our job, on the Community team, is to enforce those rules. Rule number nine states:
'Private communication between the Game Masters, Eve Team members, moderators and administrators of the forum and the forum users is not to be made public on these forums or by any other venue. You are not permitted to publicize any private correspondence (including petitions) received from any of the aforementioned.'
The rules are clear, posting any private communication from any member of CCP is not permitted on ths forums."
So, in a way, CCP Navigator (who said the above quote) confirmed this is, infact, an in-house corispondence. It is sad that we can not get anyone to tell us the truth.

If I were the Perpetuum makers I'd right now be offering free game time or free in game currency to EVE converts...
Then, because I imagine they care about their players, I'd give everyone else the same.

I enjoyed the rioting.. And the laser show is working, I had a conversation with a nice guy undocking who was asking what was going on and informed him. He was in full support of what we were doing, I had to open a new convo with him on another character though as the one I was on originally got gagged by.. you guessed it, our favorite GM Horse.
Anyways, people are noticing, keep it up. I'll be back at it tomorrow I'm sure.
Orrr.. I'll be banned, and won't give a damn.
Get a brain CCP, aren't you already in financial trouble?? Won't losing our subscriptions hurt? Btw, we're big boys and girls.. we could handle it if all the mining bots were banned, we're the eve community, we're strong, stronger than you btw. Something for you to think about.

the inherent RAGE and pitch forks you are experiencing are not from Captains Quatrers (i think its a good start).
its not from performance issues either, in-fact, I think its safe to say that even the majority of enraged players like myself are only half enraged with the NeX prices, as that was only the begining.
our "Anger" comes from the fact we're seeing very disturbing signs that Eve is going down the path of Micro-Transactions at all, as we are already fully paying for the game, and that CCP may expand Micro-Transactions beyond the Nex store.
CCP must realize that
1. we are already paying for the game, and Micro-Transactions are designed to support Free to Play games.
2. a virtual good cannot realistically cost more than the real thing, the logic here simply enrages the community, including myself, in fact its practically INSULTING to such a loyal playerbase.
