Good to see some Fresh Pod Pilots.
I gave up SWG before JTL released, I was upset at the time. Now that I look back I'm glad I dropped it to focus on EVE.
Any in need of assistance, I'd be glad to help you out. Its my way of getting even with SOE for ruining PS and now SWG No guarantee of sanity under this line: --------------------------------------- Dance Dance Mammoth - Revolution |

A masterful system that's elegantly simple in its basic design (a few attributes, they interact, but you can choose just about anything to make those attributes what you want), but incredibly complex, rich and varied when you get down to the nuts and bolts. I love it.
You may not realize this but there's more than a few of us who know what ADB is, and who SVC is in game. As for PvP, no self respecting player who knows what a saberdance is, or a proxy monkey, or what a overrun is (my personal favorite) should have any issues with it, as it's of course simpler than that. Though I constantly want things from SFB like spearfish and ATG Magnum drones :)
At any rate have a look at my bio, you're one of the few who might understand the first line. Heh btw the KOTH in our CEO's name, the K has a lot to do with Kzinti :)

Hiyall!!
I've come over from SWG, but it wasn't as bad for me, as I only discovered it last week!
After dying of boredom on WoW and closing my account, I looked around for something a little bit more intelligent and was enraptured by the inherent complexity of the SWG universe. 23 character classes, unlimited skill choice and loads of goodies.
Just my bloody luck to download the trial and find it had all changed!! But I've gotta admit that the servers didn't get clogged up by having too many people playing at once! :-)
So I saw this on one of the boards and came over the other day. I love it!!
Great game and sure I'll be here a while...

Hi Eewec Ourbyni from infinity here, well at least I was pre-NGE... I've been trying out Eve to see what it's like after a recommendation from someone in SWG.... I'm off to the SWG boards to cancel my account now, Eve is now the game I play.

I used to play SWG (Woges - Ahazi). Left before the NGE though - but seemed to turn up here with afew players. I didn't like the first CU much -but nevermind - this game seems pretty cool.

with all these exiles posting, I'd bet that many will start corps for refugees, like Exile has - watch out, in time, a SWG alliance may come, and be force to be reckoned with ;)

Hello everyone:
Galaxy: Chilastra Characters: Devs, Obiwill Guild: Soloist
I had looked at EVE for sometime and weighed all the reviews against other games such as WoW (that I played for 3 months), CoH, and AO but decided to try this. I have been here for two weeks and love what I see, although this is my second character. I deleted Obiwill as it seems I got 200000 ISK in debt and couldnt make money!
I will try to ressurect him someday, but have since made Haverford, a Calderi eh.. uh.. mish mosh. I should have read that skills guide first! Anyways you may see me bumbling through the universe and if you get to powder me, I don't mind that so much as perhaps send me a hint as to how to clone or whatever to come back from the dead!
cheers and looking forward to meeting some people in game, hopefully I will run into Nadun again.

there is a good chance i think some of the largest and most sucsessfull corps in eve started as refugee corps. for example Celestial horizon http://www.celestial-horizon.net/ wich alone makes up for 50% of the ASCN alliance started as a refugee corp of EnB players.

mmm, spearfish drones. :D It's true, it's a lot simpler in EVE (it kind of has to be) but there are some basic precepts that are very similar. Sort of like "The Cadet's Game". You gotta manage your power, shields, hull and weapons systems, and find the times you can use them to maximum effectiveness.
Overrun is one of my favorites as well. And it's always fun to death-drag your opponent's drones/SPs and watch his frustration mount. I was once getting the living snot beat out of me and in desperation pulled a HET and overran the guy. I got three full OL torps into his hull at the perfect range.
Now if EVE had tractor beams...

Momo - Farstar server !
Eve looks good gona give it a go on the trial then decide to switch my subs ingame as momosen !
NGE was a pain as i almost had my jedi full spec, the FPS style combat is also borked and the worst style of play ive ever seen... also saw my guild all cancel and a few have started on eve (think about 9ish atm)

Hi. I'm from SWG too. on my 4th trial day. I love the complexity and just how massive space feels in this game.
Gonna packup my SWG buildings tonight.
I do like the SWG NGE, the concept behind it is good, however, very poorly executed.

I played SWG back in the day, I still have my account and play from time to time, I share it with a friend who is still playing even though it kind of sucks now (he's an addict), I was a bounty hunter on the Eclipse server and I had some good times, but I think eve has always been better than SWG, NGE or not

I left SWG about a year ago, waiting for the Bounty Hunter to be fixed so that a ranged BH would have a realistic chance versus Jedi. I guess the "fix" was to no longer let BH's hunt Jedi...

Kamal Drax from Shadowfire checking in.
I played SWG since August 2003. SWG absolutly sucks now, so I have been looking for a new MMORPG.
So far, I am quite pleased with EVE !!!

I did roleplay for about a year, not sure if I will in EVE. I am still trying to learn so much. It is intricate as all heck. :D

Yet another refugee, only thing I brought with me from swg is my mains character name, "HexCaliber" formerly residing on Chimeara. 5 SWG accounts cancelled (2 active since day 1) and a life long boycot of current and future soe products.

I've been playing (correction had been) SWG since Beta. At the height of my SOE madness I had 5 accounts running. My three favorite chars were Khazid Durcour (M.Arch/M. Artisan/Merch), Ot'alyia Durcour (M. SW/ M. Artisan/Merch) and Ssrak Drascat (Jedi -- Full Temp Pre Pub 9).
Now, I'm here. Still playing the tutorial, but thourougly enjoying the complexities of the business aspect of the game. =============================================== This is my Sig. You may worship it if you like. |

Welcome to EVE,
I am a 2.5 year veteran of SWG (still playing, but not much online because-you-know-why) and a 1.3 year veteran of EVE, which was always a good complementary game to SWG.
I mainly played on Naritus as Novarider and Delos. In EVE my name is Ian Novarider and I am most active in the CAS and German channel. At the moment the center of my activities is in Essence Region.
If you guys are planning a chat channel for "exiles" let me know.
Have fun

Paks/Daks/Jaks from Naritus signing in. Wow, there's a good bit of us here isn't there? I just got a trial key for Eve yesterday and I already love the complexity of the game. SWG was the first MMO I have ever played, and Pre CU I loved the amount of options available to my character but now I usually have no desire to even log in. I've already decided to drop one SWG account for an Eve account, and I'm lookin forward to actualy figuring this game out.

Sau'Rai of Kettemoor here. Played SWG since beta 3, still have an active account. However, i don't think it'll be active much longer. Logged into EVE last night and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Decent people to talk to in channels too. No one whining or griefing others in the chat was a nice change from the crap i see in galaxies.
