SWG refugee from Starsider. Quit during the CU, and play EVE when I want something more complex than WoW. :) I'm enjoying it, but I've just finished the newbie missions -- I can more more mining the starting system than I can from these courier runs I'm on.

Just started today. I played MBH named Aldorn on Tempest since 03. Stopped for a while to play EQ2, when it came out, then switch to SWG when they did the combat revamp for EQ2, then decided after NGE came out to call it quits for SoE. I came to the conclusion that this was something that would continue to happen regardless of the games they manage and have had enough of it.
Just started the trial account today. First impression: loving it so far. Excited about the skill up system.

I quit SWG 2 Weeks into CU....and glad I did after seeing what happen with NGE
LordSpam was wookiee - Rifles Tka (pre cu) Rifles-BH (CU respec)
Jimmy'Rye was human - Master Artisan/Armorsmith - Smuggler 4000
I am really enjoying this game....

i was a precu full temp wookie. And high end PVE player (champion of mustafar, DWB guide) ... from radiant
its engough for me with SOE, cancelled 2 days ago
NGE converted SWG in a bad jocke
i think that EVE will give me all that i lose with CU and NGE

Someone I know worked in SWG Support for quite a while and some of the stuff he told me was mind-blowing...
Basically, the management in SOE were a bunch of arrogant, incompetent ********s who JUST DIDN'T CARE.
The Support team would list and collate the various issues and problems that needed to be resolved and present them to management, who would usually brush them off or dismiss them out of hand. The most commonly heard phrase was "you're not helping..."
In the end, around 2/3rds of the Support team was sacked and their jobs outsourced to India(no, I'm not making this up). The remainder were largely made up of sychophants and butt-kissers who told management what they wanted to hear...

i was on Eclipse, i started few months before CU came, when it came it wasnt that bad but i got bored quickly but was not sure about leaving (friends were still playing it), but since the new NGE arrived, most friends left and i told me its over and i can no longer be unique (my main interest when i play something) and im glad to be finally out of it. I tried eq2 but i dont like lvl based games much. When StarTrek online arrives i will probably switch to it but in the meantime i will have fun with EVE i think.

I`ve moved from SWG to EVE with WOW inbetween.
Unbelievable how bad the NGE sucks - whole guilds have been disbanded and so many veterans disappointed - I gave up on SWG earlier though...
btw. I was -TRITAN- from Eclipse... Don`t think I`ll ever log in SWG after this...

Yet another SWG exile here, Played primarily on Starsider(Merkar MHS) after Beta was over. I quite SWG after the the village and the CU, both just burned me out. I was looking forward to the NGE, but again SOE just dropped the ball. Also I played WOW some but found it to be rather simple and unengaging.
I stumbled on EVE by accident; I loved the Homeworld series and Deep space sci-fi, so when I saw the EVE site I decided to give it a try. After three days of playing I feel like an idiot for wasting my time and money on the other games.

Flying pigs i think you'll find  Pigs are pink anyway which would kind of ruin the point of what I was saying.

I finally canceled my 4 SWG accounts over NGE. What a mess they are. I hated the CU but held out until this NGE gargabe came out. SOE has no clue what they are doing. Eve-Online is everything SWG should have been. Iconic professions was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I Love the fact that Eve lets you train on everything and you don't get pigeon-holed into one profession.

Welcome old friends from SWG! I played SWG for 2.5 years and came here due to the GROUP XP fiasco.
Anyways, EvE is like JTL on acid, so if you enjoyed tinkering with your ships and hunting loot for them in JTL, you are in heaven now. The learning curve is very slow, so my advice is to get into the recruitment thread and find yourself a home quick, solo in EvE will just have you leaning on your cancel button once again.
Most importantly, CCP is like butter.

Yeah, the game went really downhill after JTL. JTL itself was OK imo. - the spacesection was fun for a couple of days but at least it gave the functionality of free travel. ROTW felt like a complete rip off (30 euro was waaay too much for suck lousy content) but they didn`t trick me with TOOW anymore - I remember the rumors about the new expansion and that they would be on Mustafar and everyones outrage about that... SOE got away with that and 3 days after that tehy announce the betatest for SWG on PS3 as I like to call it...
I really can`t understand how anyone could let this happen at SOE, but from what I`ve heard they screwed up EQ (the first one) up big time aswell by adding powerleveling. I`m very disappointed in them right now...

Yeah the NGE sucks. What did you expect? They tried to graft a FPS onto one of the laggiest games in existence -- their DB design is abysmal (I understand what they were trying to do, but neither their design, nor their servers, nor their code are up to it -- even years later). How could it NOT suck?
They'd have had to rebuild their server and client side code from scratch -- like they were going to fork that out for a dying game.

Hi all! Yes, I just quit 2 accounts from Ahazi: Buxaroo Banzai (Master Bounty Hunter/Master Combat Medic) and Big'Bux (Master Shipwright/Architect/Artisan). Yes, the NGE really messed the game up for me. I went out and got another account and grinded him to crafter.....2 weeks before the NGE was announced.....waste of money and time. But I just got thru the tutorial and I took up miner profession to start. Ingame name is Buxaroo. I am on the 14 day trial but I sure can see this is going to be a fun game for me. Definetky a keeper

Newmoon from Intrepid, Kauri, and Chimaera. Man, was a ****ed! I payed for my account while deployed to Iraq. I deactivated the other, since I didn't mind losing whatever was on it. ARGHHHH. I had crafters on all my servers. Jypped isn't the word. Now I'm playing here, and I've been kicking myself repeatedly. The ONLY thing I liked about SWG was the complex crafting system. I love space based, and you'd think SWG would actually have space:P It took them a year to get JTL out, and it was supposed to be in the original game. I love it here. It doesn't take long to get up to speed, and mining pays for everything. I was heavily into mining in SWG. Unlimited skillpoints don't really make uber here. Point of diminishing returns and all that. PvP that I had missed from Ultima, and lots of systems to explore when I don't want to mine or do missions. XP isn't based on smacking themgs around, so if you want to explore the 6k plus systems, you can:D I'm in love.......
PS I'm also in the Eve University channel. Those guys are incredible for being able to answer any questions. I can now insta and everything:P

Ah well... The NGE sucks bigtime but I try to remember the good times I had with SWG (for example the first weeks being a noob on Tatooine - the first time I saw a Jedi in action and visiting all the POI`s was incredible). I think you could have fun if you get the game now but only for a limited time (you`ll master the proffs in no time and then yopu can go visit some of the cooler POI`s and do some themeparks) but after that the game really goes downwards... The lamest thing which really annoys me about the new SOE approach is the dependancy on the SW movies - if you visit the site at first you get to see a flashy trailer showing how cool it is etc. Besides this you only get to play the tutorial (afaik.) in the trial which must have alot of sabrefights etc. making the game look uber... And then they lure you into purchase... :(
Good thing they at least refund TOOWK - I bet they only do this to save their own ass and not because of their conscience 
I`d really like to see subscriptionnumbers now.

Largest Armorsmith of the server selling for 100-150mil on armor a week (compared to 2bil ISK or more) Love the game but seems NGE lost a lot of it 18 of 23 players from out Guild quited and 5 did go to EVE
SWG lacks content a long time ago.... but this last change it also lost a community and game play fun what kills pretty mutch the game
After I finished Our Mandalorian Suit, only thing that let me go is the community well with 18 of 23 leaving it kills that :(
Hate the NGE..... played EVE-Online Beta bevore it did get live.... didn't begin with EVE because I had a SWG beta invite. but seems EVE has the complexity SWG now lacks love this game I must admit :)
