played from Nov 2003 to Nov 2005 right after NGE. I was a reb in Rebublican Defenders and Light.
Eve is super cool but I miss the old SWG

I left SWG 3 days after the CU Test servers went up. I had 2 accounts, and had spent about 4 months really digging in for becoming a Jedi. I had begun the process of pursuing the Jedi skills, and may have stuck with it, but word was out that jedi would be "reduced" in the future. Also, I was beginning to think I may be developing carpal tunnel, from all the crafting to earn those precious Jedi skill points. I think at one point I calculated it would take close to 2 million mouse-clicks to finish the skills needed. 
I must say, I do miss the concept of different minerals/materials affecting the quality of your product. It was kind of neat that you could find something every once in a while, that would make your products even better. :)

Haven't seen this thread before, so I may as well post here now. I played SWG from launch day until the Combat Up(and by up we mean down, way down)grade. I mastered 13 or so professions, favorites were Pikeman, Rifleman, and Pistoleer-BH. I was also a Jedi (village Jedi). Name was Grinch Shingle on Ahazi. Guilds: STAR, SG, and one other guild...SHDWS or something like that.

Played on Farstar.
Moved here when NGE killed my ranger/rifleman.
Sad... but this game rocks. I¦m just waiting to be able to walk and have houses on some planets in EVE.

Left EVE in June 2003, for SWG...after NGE I left SWG...no MMO's for a while, now I'm back for revelations.
Was on Gorath server...
I agree with the poster who mentioned the quality of resources affecting your products. That would be neat in eve.

I played from shortly before the CU up to the NGE. Mastered every profession in the game, had too much money, too many items, then the NGE hit, and I couldn't even get out of my house! Followed my guild over to WoW, where I did that crazy grind to 60. Was 60 for about a week, and decided I just wasted my time, so I went back to SWG, but this time payed for the character transfer w/ items over to Starsider. Played there for about 3 months, then had enough.
This is my 3rd attempt to play EVE, but this time I'm loving it. I think before I was still wanting SWG to be pre-NGE and still kicking myself in the rear for playing WoW. EVE will be my last MMO, and I'll play it until it's shut down. Just wish EVE was the first AND only MMO I played. Would have saved alot of time and money.

Played SWG from launch until very early CU, and hated it! Left. Came back in late CU for a brief visit and still hated it. Came back again shortly after NGE launched and saying that I hated that would be far too kind. I thought it was total rubbish!
Discovered EVE last year and enjoyed it but played for only a month, got bored and played single player games for awhile. Returned to EVE at Christmas and have been loving it ever since!
I think EVE is awesome!
edit: I nearly forgot to add, I was Iwen Molidi on the Kettemoor server.

Refugee from Keetermoor galaxy with toons named Crestingmoon (master architect), Vateh (master droid engineer, Seuva (master chef) , and also a master arms/armor maker. Also had a toon in Europe farstar that was a master jedi member of SOL. If anyone known from the game is here, contact me and lets catch up. This is a wonderful game and it has real possibilities which were killed in SWG by NGE and the stubborn developers in that game that forgot the players in their decisions!!!

I played SWG since launch up untill the day CU launched. I loved every bit of it, I loved it for its complexity. Ever since then I have been searching for a MMO that is actually HARD and complex... It seems I have found it here in EVE. ive only played it a few days and I already love the challenge of it!

Nice isn't it? I was a wanderhome SWG player as well, and I too used weapons from Bermag (And from DK (Dia Kiem?), don't know the full name anymore, only the initials). Funny to see all these old SWG'ers here.
I actually tried EVE three(!!) times before, but each time it came to me as too unpersonal compared to SWG. But after being let down by WoW, GuildWars and other sci-fi related MMO's, I recently got back here, and liking it a lot so far.

I played on Euro-Chimaera server from launch to early CU, name was Codus Ossiri. I was in a small Imperial guild, and did a fair bit of PvP when I was combat-specced (Master Fencer/Pistol, Swords/Doc, Fencer/Doc, Swords/Rifleman). Eventually raised enough cash and entered weaponcrafting and minerals. Was a fairly well-known weaponcrafter (rares) and mineral trader.
Didn't feel the expansions were worthwhile in the end, but considering going back for a month to see if it's improved at all. |

Lo there folks,
Another fellow SWG Refugee here from Starsider. I played Govannen Darkstar, and was, among other things, a one time member and eventual leader of the 488 LED. I've been meaning to try Eve for ages, and have had friends urging me to play and at long last I have given in, and I'm definately here to stay. I look forward to finding some long lost friends and enemies as I make my way through the Eve Universe.
