I cry my self to sleep sometimes thinking about the NGE (just kidding). I quit SWG after 2 weeks of trying the NGE..SOE turned a great game with potential into a 3rd rate FPS and a 5th rate RPG...the MMO aspect was going the way of the Dodo. I think it will end up being Star Wars Battlefront 3.

Welcome to Eve ladies and gents.
Played SWG right around launch, lost interest after about 4 months, then came back for a two months stint last summer. Now back at Eve again...can't seem to get away from this game.
Hope you all have a great time learning the new environment. Lots of resources for you to learn the game if you know where to look (IE - Don't ask in the newbie corp channels...you'll find a lot of 12 yr old idiots there).

I used to play on Bloodfin as Shaftoe played with a guild called KLIQ, played til around the release of JtL. Got bored with the crap going on with the developers having a bad case of ADD.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY liked SWG, it had a great base and I was hopeing that they were making it better, then the NGE hit and I found out they don't care about the game at all, they want to do something easy instead of testing things.
Totally do not like the changes that are going on now. And commercials they have advertising the game are so low budget its not even funny. They had a good game and they screwed it up. Anyhow I really like EVE especially the skills training when you aren't in game. I wish SWG would have implemented something that worked while you were away, harvesters did something like that, but they had their problems. Along with selling resources.

this thread needs to get back to Sony:) as if they would care now....
I came from the radiant server, toon of the same name as now. Funny thing was, I was largely a rp'er and the combat was a minimal aspect of my game, about as it is now...I started playing about 2 months post launch and quit after the combat rebalance. Nothing I could do as a doctor and CH:) I wish there was a bit more of the rp'ing swg had in eve...sure eve has a rich back story, but besides ships floating in space, there isn't too much interaction besides comm chatter. Still loving it though...

Left SWG after 3 months playing started in oct so just before the NGE and really liked thing, When the NGE hit I gave it a good play and went all the way through the legacy quest (bugged to **** missions) decided that I really didnt like all the bugs and the grind needed to get my char past level 35.
Funny thing though. I played for 3 months including ToOW for free. 
I checkout the forums sometimes to see if things have got any better, but things seem to be getting worse. SWG RIP 12 months??

I am so glad to see lots of ex-swg players here! I have been playing for 2 months now and I am here to stay. BTW, any of you guys get that stupid email with a "Come back and try us again for 2 weeks free" crap? I read all the junk they said they were going to implement and I just could not beleive that this drivel was what they thought they could yank us back with. Heavy Guns....like I cared. I had a heavy gun.....Trandoshan Rifle with 700dps! Not anymore!
BTW, I was Buxaroo Banzai/Big'Bux on Ahazi. I feel sorry for some of my guildmates left behind....3 left out of 70 and only because they were dumb enough to pay for 6 months to a year in advance. But this game I would consider it......not to mention you get a pretty damn good discount if you pay that far ahead. Not to mention CCP has their **** together unlike the subhumans who run SOE/LA now. I remember when I looked forward to LA games. X-Wing/Tie-Fighter you name it. Then it all went to hell when Lucas started making the new trilogy and let the Harvard grad idiots make all the decisions in regards to what people wanted to play.

It's amazing to see what SOE and LA has done with that game. Too bad for SOE I'll _never_ touch anything with a "SOE" label on it again.
Now, I'm curious to see how CCP maintains the quality of their product/products. :)

I come from Europe Farstar. "DaveG" the Wookiee, was a long standing Master Ranger.
Hoping to get myself a stealth ship, so that I can pretend to be a Ranger in here.
I actually beta tested EVE, and gave up on it; citing it as "The most boring game in the universe" and I promptly went back to playing "JumpGate". Anyway, now I've had my time in SWG, I thought it was time to come back and give EVE another try.
I'm finding EVE a little slow and overwhelming to get into. However, I know from my SWG time, that it does take time to get into these sorts of games and to understand all the systems, so I'm going to give EVE a bit longer.

Unfortunately there is no Ranger hat in this game either
Quite strange really as I was a long time Master Ranger in SWG, Dajo Valic on Valcyn server, and am working my way towards flying Covert Ops ships here in EVE, it seemed the most Rangerly thing here

Wow, it's amazing to find this post.
Just started Eve this afternoon, was playing Lineage 2 for a while after I left SWG, but got bored. Like the looks of the game so far, apprears to be in depth and have the option of bein social, or having a vast expanse to go off and be a loner in.

First toon = Jedi... I got this one banned for making a alt toon on the Bria Server named Julio Torres
Second toon = Master Ranger and Crafter... Could'nt keep paying for this toon.

I'm a SWG NGE refugee as well... I gave the NGE a try, and it's just not the game that I payed for. I enjoyed pre-CU, and I really liked the CU. But, the NGE took all that enjoyment, shot it in the face several times, and shoved it out a twelve story window.
Anyways, I'm Stilgar from Shadowfire. I'd love to hear from anyone else out there who's from shadowfire btw

Im thinking about leaving SWG to start playing Eve to replace my SWG time. What really stands out that would make me make the final jump away from SWG. I like this game so far but I cant find a concreat reason cut loose from SWG just yet. Share your thoughts.
