New char.
Given up for tonight. Crashed 3 times immidiately after login... Daytime playing went without any crashes, so was stupid enough to think it was over, think again.
Even then french provide better support than CCP, and that's bad.

Edited by: Jelstar on 11/05/2006 03:23:57 This has been going on for 3 days now. Constant disconnects; atleast every 5 minutes. This is un-playable. Why am I paying a fee for this? :(

I have had the same problem. Usually about 3-4 hours b4 DT or so. Very random for me. I petitioned everytime and will continue until resolved. I live in the US with cable service professionally installed. I know its not on my end at all.

There have been many people posting messages here reporting problems with Eve. I've had these problems for weeks now and like many others have tried all the fixes posted on the forums. I've even gone as far as replacing hardware and fresh installs of windows. I'm hoping that this latest downtime and patch will fix the issue. If not then CCP will not be robbing me of my money anymore.

I've been experiencing frequent disconnects since I signed up right around the time the bloodlines patch was released. I just concluded that the game was inherently buggy and that everybody had to deal with it. Are you guys telling me there are people that DON'T suffer from this!?
I'm quite competent with computers and don't have any other significant network troubles despite the plethora of applications I use aside from EVE. My ISP is Comcast and I have a 6Mb/128Kb broadband cable connection from Seattle, WA, USA. Perhaps this issue is regional?

A corp mate of mine is having similar issues. He is also cable broadband as several of you have mentioned, and also has no other problems with internet connectivity while disconnects are going on for him, and it happens later in the day (GMT +5) around 1700-2000. Possibly locale related?

I too have been having this disconnect problem over the past couple of weeks, never had it before. Been trying most of the solutions offered. Very similar to others, tracer is fine up until London, then random loss.
Its fine during the daytime, but come peak 19k + players, then the fun begins..

This really isn't a client issue. I used to leave the client logged in all day. Now I run two windowed accounts on one PC and each one disconnects seperately probably once an hour at least.

We've already figured out that it isn't a client issue. It's too random and affects too many. From what i can gather, it seems that CCP's London ISP is of poor quality. I've run the Ping Plotter and in my country(Danmark) the connection is stabil(8-18ms), then when it hits London it gets ustabil and randomly looses packets(34-60).
The ustabil one is 4.68.116.11 ae-1-51.gar1.London1.Level3.net

1. Crash - 15:07(GMT +1) Jump Gate, 10 minutes after login.
Lost mission bonus again. All in all, probably half the total amount of mission reward is lost, which is alot when summed up. So basicly I can only earn half of what i could on missions, if it didn't constantly disconnect. Even less if I was a miner, which was the plan, so that kinda sucks bigtime.

Well total shut down. first message is a server node is offline (broke?). Then message is Proxie server can't connect. So maybe for you comp. types there may be a clue here. Bad piece of gear that finally smoked?

I'm also experiencing random drop outs, only since the last major patch a few days ago.
I was 100% stable before. Its very irritating.
I have a new, clean, fast PC with 2mb broadband - its certainly not a client-side thing. ------------------ ISSN recruitment information

I just started having the same problem after 2 months of no problem. I have not changed any settings or even added any software. What is interesting is this; when the game client lost its connection to the server today I immediately jumped to a command prompt and pinged the server, it responded nicely. Jumped back to the game client and it could not find the server. I spent the next hour on guild wars without a hitch.
I would also like to mention that many people believe that IBM servers are top notch, but from my experience they have been mostly substandard at best.

I think I must have CTDd about 6 times today, it has only happened since the database upgrades, before then I never CTDd. This isn't anything to do with my PC or net connection as all was intact at times of crashes. It didn't attempt to reboot my client or state that a network connection was lost.
I think the times when I crashed was when I was looking through everyone at local, maybe I pressed show info on too many people in a short time? It hasn't done that before.

I've had the exact same problem. Ever since they upgraded the DB hardware, I've crashed out about once an hour, maybe more - to date, this has cost me about 50 drones (more annoying than it sounds, considering I have to go back to Empire to get more...)
I'm seriously beginning to wonder whether it's worth paying for this game any more, when I can't play it...

I had regular connection drops when I started to play EVE. Everything else going through Inet just worked fine for more than two years.
Low and behold I decided to see if there were more up to date drivers for my hardware available. I found more recent NIC drivers, installed them and since then I never had a "Connection to server lost" again (crossing my fingers, though )
Perhaps this is something you could look inot and see if it solves your drops.

Almost two month old player here. I've had the same problem for a week now. I work as a IT-administrator so I know my system quite well and now it for sure that all here works like they should. Seems that these sudden crashs happens during peak times, say between 17.00 - 23.00 GMT. Outside that time I have no trouble playing. No error messages or anything just client restart. This is not the first mmo I played but it really seems that it is the first one that I need to quit because it is so unstable.
