:\ Best map out there, got me hooked with daily updates and now it's been a week the withdrawals are shocking... Is it possible now that the sov data is done via API that someone else could help with updating this ?

It is worthless if it isnŠt getting updated. :/
CanŠt get a grip of the politic situation by looking on map. Like Triumvirate is friend to YouWhat and YouWhat is allied to BoB and they are fighting Northern Coalition.
In short I would like to see where the frontlines of the battles are. And this map fails doing that.

The map can't fail at something it is not meant to provide.

I have no idea about java at all, but the source code is in the OP couldn't someone else run updates until Paladin gets back?
I'm looking to try to work out how now because I would like to have a look as well.
I hope everythings ok with Paladin.

would be good to get an update as been alot of changes in north with sparta disbanding, Tri gaining ground, storm leaving and Fallen taking over stations. Also probs alot happening in the south as usual.

You'd think the new API project would provide that information, although I don't know whether thats where Paladin gets his (this pre-dating the API project).
Other people (like Serenity Steele) use the same information in their own projects, so it must be easily obtainable.

I've been looking for it as well, I believe that CCP offer a data dump which can be accessed with all the sov information and stuff in it... Without that database I won't be able to run the source code in order to generate a map while we are waiting for Paladin to return.
If anyone knows where I can find it, and if its in MySQL that would be great.

Love the map, great work - it's my daily dose of (e)sports/war news, and I go into withdrawal whenever Pali takes a couple days off. Thanks, mate! :)
I miss the monthly archives to download, though, since I cannot seem to directly dl the png files (I can only display, then right-click and save as an oversized .bmp, but I want it as .png, and I hate having to convert it manually). Could you bring those back, since I assume this'd only take a couple minutes of your esteemed time to do :)
Edit: Oops, I know this is theoretically CAOD, but Pali's map is an unofficial game feature, so please don't kill my corp-less yet relevant and supportive post, ok?

Didn't/Don't wanna start a discussion about it, since that wouldn't help anything, but I'm still wondering about how several entities, present on the ingame sov-map, dont hold any sov on the sov-map. (I'm pretty sure alliances aren't taking their POSs offline just at the times the sov-map is made). Still referring to Stain Empire and also VENOM Alliance, who'm have held Sov in systems in omist for some time now.
I know it will sound like a complaint no matter how I put it, but it isn't, the map is great, I need an IV-drop if there's no new map up every week (maybe I shouldn't give out motives), but first and foremost I'd like for the original perfection-nonbias-alwaysinformative status of the map to remain.
If anything, I'm a map-fan(-atic).
This is my signature-space. I wonder if I should actually put something in here. It's not like I post on the forums alot nor do I actually care what people think of what I write in here.
