Ok, the new missions have a nice new escaltion format, you kill the right things and some of their friends come in to play... but do we really need to know that they have warped in on every chat channel we have open???? put the text in local, or maybe allow us to set where it goes, but i dont need 20 chat channels spammed by ingame messages!

Actually this isn't a new feature that came in with Rev 1.4. Blockade has been doing it for months. Nonetheless - I agree. It need only be sent to the currently active channel.

true, there are a few missions that have done this previously, but from what i've seen so far, all the new/reintroduced missions have this very annoying feature.

Well, it's better than a pop-up I have to click away, but I guess it gets annoying if you have a lot of chats open. Just putting it in either local or corps should be fine.

I agree this is an irritation. Minor in my case, but I can see how it could be a problem for folks with lots of channels.
Great game, nice suggestion for improving it. But no big deal for me at any rate.

the most annoying thing is the Booby trap message in certain missions ... when you run a mission and a buddy is mining the asteroids in your mission area .. bobby traps start to go off like chinese fire*****ers and you have a system message on ALL chat channels about once every second, for literally DOZENS of spam messages in each and every channel.

Yes its neat and all, but get real, It should only come in on local comms, not your 20 or so password protected channels. its a total spam fest as it sits now. Yes I like it, its a nice touch just need to be tweaked ccp, and so far all you have done is add this SPAMMING to more and more missions. Nerf that Spam!!!

This is one Gone Berserk mission. In high-sec I can't see it being a problem, in low or 0.0 it's incredibly annoying.

O god!!!
I'm all over signing this petition.
First off, it freaked the hell out of me as I somehow thought that every convo I was in was having some kind of spasm attack. When I sorted wtf was going on, it very very quickly became a major annoyance.
Please, if this must be a "Feature" then only spam 1 channel, or, do it as a "log file" like damage is. (as it was before??!)

I think part of the problem is there are so many different areas of the UI that information appears in. Combat spam messages, warping messages, scrambling messages, ecm messages the whole works. I know (hope?) they are updating the UI at some point, so I hope they keep the idea of 'personal transmission messages' somewhere. Hell, I want the target icon to have all the information that not only am I shooting at that ship with, but also what that ship is doing to me. Makes more sense to me.
So just put the message right on top of the UI somewhere, and have it fade out after a few minutes. That way everyone knows it's there (cause they can't get rid of it) but it doesn't spam the actual channels.

Put my name on this signature as well. This has to be the most annoying thing. With "Gone Berserk" I am the one going beserk, makes it impossible to talk with anybody and when it spams all the chat windows it locks up my game we have enough problems with lag without adding anymore.

Bah! Just returned from a few months eve break to run some missions and now it isn't enough anymore to get spammed with isk-for-money spam in the trade chans or the stupid come-into-my-corp or how-can-i-put-a-launcher-on-my-ship crap in the german chan - no, i have to bear spam with a lot less information in MY private Corp Chan, the only chan i still have switched to blink because IF theres someone writing in there, i really should look.
This thread exists for 2 months already. If one thinks bad of ccp, he would say that this is the job of those who want to push mission*****s out into 0.0. If one doesn't, then my guess would be that theres somewhere a dev sitting, polishing his ego since the job to get MISSIONSCRIPTS to actually PRINT some text into a chat window is - in his opinion - a really cool thing and his genius work, who doesn't want to acknowledge that HIS genius work is just a big annoyance to the player...
Well, whatever the reason - just put it under the bug-to-resolve section and solve it!

Oh... btw, i didn't try wow since the first beta test (way back when you didn't have to pay for it in europe) but... somehow that npc-shouting-into-chat looks like those statusmessages or player shouts back then. I want to play eve, not wow. :-(

To-do list, hot damn... this has been THE biggest annoyance for mission runners since Rev 1 and it is only on a to-do list NOW?
I hope it is at least at the top. I was VERY disappointed not to find it in the fix list for Rev2 as well...

Another suggestion we have a mission channel already, why can't we have another thats just for mission flavour text. How hard is it CCP? c'mon its not hard at all is it... its a piece of cake.
PS I actually stopped playing because of this little miss text problem. Its bleedin aggrivating, and I avoid all things that aggrivate or annoy. The last patch didn't address this... oh lordy, another long god-awful wait.

Well, I didn't mean for it to be an obligatory channel that you have to have open. Personally I'd like the option to close it. Not alot of people care for mission text and once they start re-running missions they've already done, well... it'd be nice to just put it in a channel to forget about.
If not another channel, then at least give the option to ignore mission text. Ok, I seriously doubt CCP would include such an option... so umm I'm back to my original idea, sorry.

You think missions are bad?
Try harvesting gas clouds.. One message in every chat channel open, every 20 seconds for 3-4 hours. Makes conversation a bit tricky.

please rid ALL of our channels from this garbage....make a missions only chat or even put it into the log....we see more NPCs are arriving, a text message in EVERY chat channel is nothing less than irritating.

Now, this mission might have been put in earlier, but i've just come across it, "Recon 3/3".... you get hit by "waves of radiation" every 10-20 secs, with the usual damage popup message AND!!! a chat channel spamm message on every channel too!! how wonderful

I like the way the missions work now too, but i agree we dont need 10+ chat channels telling us "reinforcements have arrived!". Even 1 chat channel isnt necessary IMO. It's not hard to notice that 15 new rats just showed up.

only problem is... they have been saying they are "doing something about it" since the begining of this thread, 4 months ago... since then we've had several patches, server updates, (might even have been before one of the main rev patches, i've lost track of time ) etc. and... nothing... ok its fairly small compared to some of the issues going on with the cluster and things... but i cant see it being that major a job to fix?
So keep signing away, at the very least they'll know its something we still get annoyed at. We'll get there eventually.
